Can anybody answer these simple questions ??
-
The actual aya is as follows
1723
To misinterpret the Quranic Ayas is characteristic of Quranists by default. If my understanding is not correct according to you, then please just tell what the correct one according to you. If yours is better than mine, I will accept yours. OK bro?
What do you want to get out of it
Have you read my post?

Salam Samia,
Thanks for the clarification. It means my understanding of the verse is grammatically acceptable. Am I right sis?
Yes you're right. If I remember, there was a thread where it was discussed that God does not address an individual except prophets or by name. No general address is made to the singular "you". But this is really a very interesting notice from your part. Yet a further proof from the qur'aan exposing a deeply rooted very common false story. Well done.

Have you read my post? You want to say that only the Holy Prophet was ordered by Allah to behave well to his parents not other muslims?
It means this order is not for other muslims because here "singular present pronouns " are used (as per your impression).
Am I right to understand you ? -

That is not my point. My point is the history of the prophet as has been taught to us (that the prophet's father died before he was born, that his mother passed away when he was six) is completely wrong. Why? Because the prophet still had both father and mother when he received the revelations.
Even if we assume the history that the prophet received revelations when he was forty is true, then still according to the verse at the age of forty the prophet still had both father and mother (unlike what have been taught to us). Got it?
If you disagree with my understanding of the verse (that the prophet still had both father and mother when he received revelations), then tell your understanding so that we can discuss. If yours is better than mine, I will accept yours. Thanks.

Please have a look at this verse 4615.
(Notice that it covers the same subject as 1723) -

The Messenger was asked to follow what was revealed to him and we are to follow the Messenger. By following the Messenger we will be following the revelation from God. So it is not only him who has to treat his parents well.

Aya4615 clearly illustrates the meaning of 1723 that this address is to all human beings.
Have you pondered upon the verses 2170, 4135, 923-24, 1187, 185, etc.and 4324 somehow displaying mischieviousness. -
Peace Leo

Thank you very much .So you agree we have to "Follow the Messenger"
bravo bravo bravo sun
Agreed this is the Quranic message that we have to follow the "Prophet PBUH. -
Dear
Instead of Number reference why don't you put the Aya on the post as I do so that every one is benefitted.
Dear, I hate to sweat. If the question involved one or two verses, then it wouldn't be a problem. There are too many verses involved to make a lengthy post unless necessary. I'd suggest you search and collect all verses pertaining to "parents" and see if you can make any heads and tails of it. Besides, it will give you a chance to actually read the "Great Reading". -

yes research is very difficult for "Quranists".
They hide the verses arabic text so that they can extract the meaning of their liking and people should believe blindly.
Sorry I do not follow this style .I believe in Facts not on hearsay. -
Salaam all,
Here is the Aya and the showing of the singular and plural yous
1723 Thy (singular) Lord hath decreed, that ye (plural) worship none save Him, and (that ye (plural) show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them to attain old age with thee, say (singular) not "Fie" unto them nor repulse (singular) them, but speak (singular) unto them a gracious word.
The first singular addresses the messenger.
The plurals that came just after address all.
The second singulars address the generic human because it came after the plural. Why? because the plural set the stage that the addressing is to all and not only the messenger. Why did it address the singular at the end? because it makes for a stronger address as in talking to each one of us directly.
Take care all.
Hussein

You go through posts and verify how many of them contain arabic text of Quran .
They either give
-Reference
-Transliteration
-Translation (tampered usually)
They hide actual text .Why ? -

But the history and the narrations these guys so stoically adhere to is completely devoid of any mathematics or science. Maybe hadeeth guys can invent their own math code to verify hadeeth.
