Every one should know that Quranists believe two versions of Quran and they do translation according to weather of the day.
Shall I add this additional criteria to your list below?
If you see someone
-Mocking the sayings of the prophet PBUH
-Showing brainlessness and lack of knowledge
-Tampering the meanings of the Holy Quran
-Knowing arabic only this much that translates "wash your feet " as "rub your feet"
-not knowing the difference of "giving the book /teaching the book
-showing double standard (whereever he wants takes the shelter of the Hadith/whereever wants rejects it )
-That who says that whole quran is metaphoricThink that he is Quranist and Munkareen-e-Hadith
I have to say these "Quranists" you speak of are quite specific. Do they have a website or book to read more of their views?

And if that is the case, then he is more than likely going through a period of cognitive dissonance wherein his arrogance and ignorance is causing him to resort to such silly defense mechanism in an attempt to save/defend his worldview(Pagan worldview that is)

Apply this criterion and the only Quranists you'll get are people with no brain, i.e. dead people. Specifically, dead people whose brains had disintegrated. Most freshly dead people still have brains, although their brains no longer work.
