    Peace Cosmic

What do you mean I am in a state of denial?

Of that which I stated in my post. That God, the God who cannot be Merciful according to you because of the doctrine of retribution, creates an enviroment such as Jahannam.

If you mean that I am denying something that I know to be true - then you are wrong.

Whether you know it to be true or not, to me you are denying it. So if you know it to be true and deny it then you are in denial. If you do not know it to be true, but fail to accept it because of your reasonings than you are in denial.

I have no reason to believe Hell is true.

You may believe or disbelieve of course so now I wonder what's the complaint if you're not a believer therein?

If you have some proof - please be my guest and show me the proof.

My proof will be of little or no avail to you. I'll put it this way, I believe where you do not. ;D

Hell is very true. Proof? Go outside, look up, towards East in the morning, West in the evening.

        I don't have a complaint.

Hell is somthing I used to take for granted as part of my faith when I was a Muslim.

But the more I thought about it - the more I found I could not believe in such a concept and I am interested in knowing how others think about it.

This is a discussion forum, where we discuss things about Islam.

        Is that OK with you?

Are you saying the sun is Hell?

I am saying that we are bubble wrapped in space, with a protective atmosphere shielding us off from HELL outside.

              Peace Cosmic

It is perfectly okay for you to discuss things here in a civil manner. Most importantly you should verify what anyone states here about their opinions on the subject as they should be in line with the current of thought in the quran. All these teachings should have their authentification in the experience .

OK, so do you regard the statements in the Qur'an about Hell - as meaning the Sun?

Do you believe it will one day burn unbelievers?

What do you mean by 'the current of thought' in the Qur'an and how do I verify if somones opinion is in line with 'the current of thought in the Qur'an' ?

                  What experience?

                  My experience?

                  Your experience?

I'm not sure how you do not understand "current of thought"? It's sort of like a traditions perceptions of well, whatever. Basically it is whatever is in the mind you may be focused on at the moment.

My experience is mine own and known only in it's entirety by God. I mean your experience, but not all people learn from experience or are blind to the experience or pieces of it.

Obviously not. But if something that vividly fits the description of hell is there to see just outside, why is it so hard to believe it could exist?

We create our own hell by NOT TRUSTING The God. Has nothing to do with BELIEF in The God.

I've not read this whole thread since it's grown so fast in so short a time, but it seems to me that you are in a state of denial and just won't except that God could create an enviroment suitable to the natures of its inductees.

                            1. As for those who rejected, neither their money nor their children will avail them anything from God. They are the fuel for the Fire.

...beware the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, it has been prepared for the rejecters.

                            peace

No that's not what it means. rotfl

Let me give you an example or two. Anne Rice's Vampire chronicles concern the romantic vampire in homo-erotic situations, or the Divine Comedy concerns understanding, purification, and illumination. That's a current of thought. Like in Harry Potter, you have a kid wizards growth and inheritance. Currents of thought man. Whatever you may be thinking of, some theme.

So I compare people's opinion to whatever I may be thinking of when reading the Qur'an - which could include homo-erotic vampires or Harry Potter.

                                I'm loving this - thanks.

There are currents of thought already ingrained in the quran by its author. These are themes that one should adhere to when they want to follow the teachings therein. One can deviate from those established currents of thought (in the quran) with their opinions of course. Just as easily one may misinterpret another book.

For someone with cosmic in their screen name you sure don't seem to know much about this universe

Hell is a reality in this universe. See asteroid collisions, see other planets, see galaxy mergers, see black holes etc.... etc...
