    peace all

    so where is God?

since he sees and hears all, is he literally everywhere? at several places at the same time?

      Salam.

      2115,
And to God belongs the east and the west, so wherever you turn, there is God's presence. God is Encompassing, Knowledgeable.

      2142,
The foolish from amongst the people will say "What has turned them away from the focal point that they were on?" Say "To God is the east and the west, He guides whomsoever He wishes to a straight path."

      2177,
Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but piety is one who believes in God and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets, and who gives money out of love to the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves; and who honors the Connection, and who contributes towards betterment; as well as those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of good and bad and when in despair. These are the ones who have been truthful, and they are the righteous.

      4126
And to God is what is in heavens and in the Earth; God is Encompassing over all things.

      Seek and you shall find.

      Peace.

Revise your concept of God. You shouldn't have to ask that.

              Greetings,

Nice topic, here are some verses

2115 And to God belongs the east and the west, so wherever you turn, there is God's presence. God is Encompassing, Knowledgeable.

574 He is the One who created the heavens and the Earth in six days, then He settled over the dominion. He knows everything that enters into the land, and everything that comes out of it, and everything that comes down from the sky, and everything that climbs into it. And He is with you wherever you may be. God is Seer of everything you do.

587 Do you not realize that God knows everything in the heavens and everything on Earth? No three people can meet secretly without Him being their fourth, nor five without Him being the sixth, nor less than that, nor more, without Him being there with them wherever they may be. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of everything they had done. God is fully aware of all things.

Therefore, God is Omnipresent, not only limited to a place (space) or time because God created the existence of place (space) and time itself.

Some people say that God is not omnipresent, only at His Throne, they quote a hidth/narration about how the spirit of a dead person is taken through each of the 7 gates of the heavens/sky with security check all the way (something like that, as far as i remember). That view contradicts with the verses above. These kinds of narrations, to me, sounds very much addressed by the verse

7185 Did they not look at the dominion of heavens and Earth, and all that God has created? Perhaps their time is drawing near; so in which narrations after this one will they believe?

              May God Guide & Bless.

God is not confine by space. To explain this, here is a analogy to ponder

Everything we know and sense, EVERYTHING, exists within a box. Everything including up down, far near, left right, evil good, hot cold, solid liquid, light dark, white black, animal human, one to infinity, work slave, technology caveman, money broke, love hate, male female, etc etc etc. EVERYTHING we perceive and know exist within this box. This box is called reality.

To understand or get a glance of GOD, just remember that God is outside that box, holding it.

So the male and the female, to use two elements of your list, do not exist within the same reality as god? How do you understand the "We are closer to you than your jugular vein"?

If it's God, it doesn't exist.

I wonder if anyone'll understand that, so ambiguous...

yes. these concepts is our reality that we are dependent on. however things like gender doesnt apply to GOD. GOD is neither male nor female etc.

How do you understand the "We are closer to you than your jugular vein"?

GOD is not fix within a space or location. This is not about location. GOD is not near to me like as close as my jugular vein. IF so, it will contradiction verse like 7143. So the verse is clearly symbolic to represent GOD awareness and knowledge of us internally. meaning HE is aware of our closest and private thoughts etc. That verse says "we know what he whispers to himself."

honestly if GOD is confine within our realty, He is no a god, but dependent upon our the reality, obeying the laws and restrictions of our reality. but we learn this is not true (6 103, 3967, 3682).

if GOD is a "he" as in male, then he is not one and only since he is the second part of a pair. but that will contradict 573.

'She' is also used for 'it'. Feminine objects, animate or inanimate, take 'she'. Masculine, animate or inanimate, take 'he'. There is no seperate word for 'it' in arabic which should answer your second question.
