But 7930 does not refer to an ostrich egg at all. That's just a little scam interpretation from Rashad Khalif, the same guy who thought he was a prophet. And now it's used by Naik the Fake. But it doesn't refer to the ostrich egg, it refers to the action of the mother ostrich of spreading out the dirt and stamping on it while preparing a spot in the ground to hide her egg. So, just like all of the other verses in the Quran where it talks about the creation of the earth, it references something involving spreading out and/or flattening out and is therefore consistent with all of the other verses as one would expect..

The word in question is as follows

Dal-Ha-Waw (Dal-Ha-Alif) = To hurl, spread forth, expand, stretch out, cast away, extend, drive along.

daha vb. (1) perf. act. 7930

      Lane's Lexicon, Volume 3, page 23

Tell us, which ones implies it means flat? Thanks.

Furthermore, the actual ostrich example is

      also, said of an
ostrich, (S, TA,) he expanded, and made wide,
(TA,) with his foot, or leg, the place where he
was about to deposit his eggs.

      Clearly, nothing about flatness.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

The earth "spreading out" is actually a contemporary scientific fact as well. All continents used to be one landform, Pangaea, and overtime they spread out creating what we have today.

Funny how if you want the quran to mean something for an agenda, it'll do it.

First of all, clearly nothing about an ostrich egg either, right? So Naik the Fake is a scammer. Second of all, take a ball of pizza dough. When you expand it or make it wide, do you not flatten it to the extent that you expand it? You certainly don't make it round. We don't see anything about the earth being rolled together, but we do see expand, stretch, make wide, and even flatten in some verses.

where does it say it split the land up with water? I don't believe it means what you suggest and I agree that anybody can try and make anything mean anything if they have an agenda. There are verses that say he spread the earth out and then sent down water. So these don't match your attempt.

I'm not sure who/what you're referring by "Naik" but the point is there is no meaning of flat in the root, or even in the whole entry
              http//www.studyquran.org/LaneLexicon/Volume3/00000023.pdf

It even refers to a swollen/fat pregnant belly/stomach, which is the opposite of what you imply.

Dal Haa Wau is a verb. It means to roll a stone/a spherical object between the fingers/palm of hand before throwing it. I do not trust the Arabic dictionaries here when they say it means to spread. All the examples given are for pebbles or ostrich egg. The Arabic poet says

Translation I will never forget the sight of a baker who was (Dal Haa Wau rolling) the paste very quickly. By the time you see it a ball in his hand and the time you see it like the moon (in the oil) is as fast as the formation of a circle on the surface of water when you throw a pebble in it.

The word is dahaha not dal haa wau. Why do you select a different word? Here are the correct words.

                  Waalarda baAAda thalika dahaha

Here's, a good Muslim article about it.

"dahaha" is two words daha and which means "it/her" . The verb has the root Dal Haa Wau ( ). If you do not understand the root system, how can you look up a word in a classical Arabic dictionary (or any Arabic dictionary)?

Same thing. did you read the article i linked? Anyway, he's the only one who translated as "egg shaped". all of the rest of the translators translated "spread out" or something similiar. Not one mention of egg shaped except for him. Ibn Kathir makes no mention of efgg shaped either. Here's his tafsir

                          http//tafsir.com/default.asp?sid=79&tid=56986

(Is not the One Who created the heavens and the earth, capable of creating the similar to them. Yes, indeed! He is the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.) (3681) Then Allah says,

(He constructed) He explains this by His statement,

(He raised its height, and has perfected it.) meaning, He made it a lofty structure, vast in its space, with equal sides, and adorned with stars at night and in the darkness. Then Allah says,

(And after that He spread the earth,) He explains this statement by the statement that follows it,

I don't see any egg shaped statements there in the least. Rashad and others like Naik the Fake are just up to their old tricks again.

And he never claimed he is prophet but Messenger of Covenant. .and there is enough evidence for such claim.

Well, you can go argue with all the Muslims that find him blasphemous because they claim he did indeed claim he was a prophet

He sent down to you this scripture, containing straightforward verses - which constitute the essence of the scripture - as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses. Those who harbor doubts in their hearts will pursue the multiple-meaning verses to create confusion, and to extricate a certain meaning.

And that's what I think Rashad and Dadeet and Naik and all of the other clever little scammers are doing

None knows the true meaning thereof except GOD and those well founded in knowledge. They say, "We believe in this - all of it comes from our Lord." Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.
                          37
                          Peace.

That's right, so we don't know what the Quran means, only God does. So why read it if we can't be sure what it means? What kind of an instruction for all times is that?

So how exactly do Muslims decide which are the allegorical ones and which are the straightforward ones? Let me see if I can guess. If the verse makes the Quran look good, that is the clear verse. If a verse makes it look bad, that is the mysterious verse. Is that how you do it? How can anybody do something so blatantly subjective and self fulfilling as that and still look at themselves in the mirror as reasonable, intelligent people?

Actually, the concept of clear is easy to swallow, but you're written idea about what is clear is hard to follow. But let me see if I can interpret. Do you mean that if a verse is about civil law, then it is a clear verse, and if it is not, then it is a parable, even if it doesn't say it's a parable or suggest that it is figurative by using the words "like" or "as" or "as if"? Hmmmm....can you explain more?
