Salamun Alaykum brothers and sisters,
I voted "I pray by bowing and prostrating but dont add the Mohammad is the messenger part" because this is what I believe and what I and my family have been doing after some time of confusion and floating along.
Insha Allah with more information we will be able to reconcile our salat with what is in the Quran when it points to three contact prayers.

When i tried to pray 5 times a day, sunnis said that a person who works in the kmitchen doesn't have the time for 5 prayers.Occasionally i would hear this sentence"Alen, if you're gonna go pray, pray, but make it quick."

I agree, although I believe everyone should try and pray at least part of the night, because in one verse it mentions all 3 times (before sunrise, before sunset -> sunset and Night)
I thought ablution was before every prayer?

To my understanding it would be 2 times for Salat, but If I recall correctly the night time is when we should reflect additionally on what we've read. Correct?

All the words of the Salat should be from the Quran.
7- In 17111 we read the following words
"Al-Hamdu l'Allah alazee lam yatakhez waladan, wa lam yakun lahu shareek fee al mulk, wa lam yakun lahu waleyon min al zol."
These words translate to
"Praise be to God who has never begotten a son, nor does He have a partner in His kingship, nor does He need an ally out of weakness" 17111
In 17110 God commands us to use a moderate voice in our Salat, immediately after which God commands us
"AND SAY, 'Praise be to God, who has never begotten a son??."
The words "AND SAY"at the beginning of verse 111 indicate that the subject is STILL Salat (the subject of 110). This means that God is commanding us to utter these specific words during our salat.
It is interesting to note that these 3 phrases have significant meanings
1- "Praise be to God who has never begotten a son,"
These words purify us from the claim of the Christians who gave God a son.
2- "nor does He have a partner in His kingship,"
These words purify us from the corrupt Muslims who made Muhammad a partner with God in everything they say or do ........
3- "nor does He need an ally out of weakness"
These words purify us from the Jewish scholars who claim that God is not able to do certain things ... etc
In effect, by uttering these words, and constantly being aware of the danger and corruption of these groups, we purify our souls and maintain the purity of our religion.
These words must be uttered during our salat.
To follow these words we should then magnify God frequently (Allah Akbar) ....

I'd like some clarification on the "salat words" derived from AQ17111. My copy of the arabic transliteration of this verse is as below
"Wa qulil-hamdu lillahil-lazee lam yattakhiz waladan wa lam yakul-lahoo shareekun fil-mulki wa lam yakul-lahoo waliyyum-minaz-zulli wa kabbirhu takbeeraa."
Now the salat words above
"Al-Hamdu l'Allah alazee lam yatakhez waladan, wa lam yakun lahu shareek fee al mulk, wa lam yakun lahu waleyon min al zol."
My question is on the acceptability of the derivation because obviously "wa qulil" can't be used and we also have to cut "wa kabbirhu takbeeraa".
Any thoughts?

I can't remember if I clarified how I pray. But I either pray with the traditional rakas just at dawn and at dusk, saying either whatever I want or reciting the Fatihah and the Quran and other various supplications that I remember from the Quran. Or I kneel before my bed or a chair and pray to God that way with my hands outstretched like in a traditional dua. I've tried folding my hands like Christians as well or bending on one knee and praying. The most comfortable for me is the quasi-traditional way or in dua form on my knees. I believe in praying as many times as I would like, but Quranically fix the two prayers of dawn and dusk to be prayed everday. I often pray with my wife in the evening kneeling down. I recite the fatiha then she recites the Padre Nuestro (Our Father in Heaven) and then we do our own supplications. When praying more traditional style I often break out in innovated prayers in Arabic. And go between English and Arabic, and sometimes Spanish. That is just my style though. I have no problems going to the mosque and praying with other Muslim food to shoulder. Or praying with Christians with head bowed as long as they pray to the Father and in his name. Otherwise I refrain from the prayer and will not say Amen as sort of a protest.

When you pray with traditional or sunni muslims, do you have any problem with their tashahhud or tasleem at the end? I asked because I noticed you said that you don't say "amen" out of a sort of personal protest.
Also, is your wife spanish and christian? I guess Im asking that from your post. But if so, how do you both come to agreement on how to raise kids (if you have any or plan to have any).
If any of this is too personal for the forum, then please either send it to me in a private message, or just state that you prefer not to answer. I respect your decision either way.

I don't mind the questions. They do not seem fecescious (forgot how to spell this word). Anyway, when I pray with traditional Muslims I do not recite the tashahhud/tahhiyah. I don't believe I should be greeting any of God's prophets in my prayer to God. Also I don't remember it anymore. But part of me forgetting it was choosing not to recite it anymore. As for the tasleem, that's all good to me. Whether it is to greet the angels (the Quran confirms that they are around us) or to the others praying, I don't see anything wrong with that.
My wife is not Spanish, but she is Dominican and a Spanish speaker (Hispanics are in truth not Spanish, nor are they one race these are misnomers and myths) . She is Christian. Before I married her I made it clear that she worshipped only God and that God is more important than Jesus (God bless him). I perfectly agree with her following Christ's words which I clarified for her is what true Christians follow, and that is not only Quranic but just plain old logical. She is fine with that. As for her praying to God in Jesus name well I won't do it but I accept her doing it. I understand that it is more like provoking a seal or a token that God accepts and her belief in the Messiah is going to be reflected in her heart and God knows if she is really following Christ (through his words) or not. It's kind of like wa muhammadarrasoolullahi. It's not something bad to say but it is not necessary either, it is only a ritual that those who follow Christ's words are to do, and if such a Christian does not believe that Christ is God (like my wife) or that he is his only son (my wife knows that this is a metaphor used for other godly people as well and that that passage in John can also mean unique son) then there is no harm is there? She has read a great deal of a Spanish translation of the Quran. It is not a great translation to me but I helped her understand a few unclear things and what a translation really is. She openly agreed to and accepted what she understood of this Quranic translation without any encouragement. Otherwise I do my best to fill her in into Quranic topics or Classical Arabic as well when she shows interest. But again, the main poitn is submission and service to the god of Abraham. And that along with using intelligence, reason and Classical Arabic will guide the religious education of my children.
The Quran is clear about what their religion should be Submission to God. To me the most important thing is for them to submit to God, I will teach them the Quran and I will even teach them Jesus words. I want them to be familiar with the Bible and the hadeeth but to know what they really are. So none of that tradition stuff creates any problems for me. It will be their choice in the end, but as long as they only serve God and submit to him I am fine. And I don't think that if they chose to follow the Quran that that would be betraying the principles of their mother's faith at all. Remember those Christians that are true seekers (qisseesseena) and true followers of Christ's words have a high place in the Quran and are closest to those who have accepted the Quran and study it, follow it and believe in it.

Just wanna say, for now i pray as usual. (as per sunni) except the syahadah part where i say God only. I recite in arabic mostly(got used to it), but only understand some. I just understood al-fatihah a couple days ago. But now in my mind, i don't think about getting my salat right anymore, just think about getting closer to God. May He accept my prayer.

I was wondering from your message, why you would bow your head when they say "our father" for doesn't the Quran say that God does not have any kids, so bowing ones head along with that is like you are saying ..it is okay? perhaps I am wrong, why would we engage in prayer with someone who is stating lies about God. Isn't that the same as praying with those who claim other things about God that God refutes?

The majority of the mosques that I know of are built with funds, collected through donations from anyone willing to donate money. No investigation to see if the income of those who donate are in real sense pure is carried out. A lottery winner?s money is deposited in the same funds as the rest, which may be from pure sources.
My duty, as per the Quran,( see above verse) is first of all to investigate, who has contributed towards the building of the mosque.Q1 Have you found such a mosque?
I tried so much yet I was unable to find a single mosque here in the UK where they keep a record of donations they receive, or even give a second thought to the source of their donations.
Therefore 9109 Is one who establishes his building on the basis of reverencing GOD and to gain His approval better, or one who establishes his building on the brink of a crumbling cliff, that falls down with him into the fire of Hell? GOD does not guide the transgressing people.9110 Such a building that they have established remains a source of doubt in their hearts, until their hearts are stilled. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.B
Once established the mosque worth praying in should have an Imam who subscribes to the Quranic criterion ?And I ask you of no wages therefore my wages is the concern of the Lord of the world?, (26- 109,127,145,164,180).Almost every mosque has imams, whose wages are paid by the mosque authorities thus leading prayers is their paid job. IMHO it is extremely unlikely that such prayers would be accepted by God.
So what about those that stand behind such Imams?Q2I would be very interested to know if you have indeed found such worthy mosque/Imam?
9111 GOD has bought from the believers their lives and their money in exchange for Paradise. Thus, they fight in the cause of GOD, willing to kill and get killed. Such is His truthful pledge in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran - and who fulfills His pledge better than GOD? You shall rejoice in making such an exchange. This is the greatest triumph.

Alot of what I seen said glorify your Lord morning and evening. I have not seen anything about 5 prayers? I seen another verse that said somehting about dont mind or worry about those whlo glorify the grace of their Lord morning and evening. what about the numerous verses talking about propehts I think one was loooking at horses during the dusk and forogt to glorify the grace of his Lord.
How can you ignore the many verses talking about morning and evening sun up and sun down and justify it anyway through math or what not? I am not understanding where this 24434 comes from originally?

If you speak the truth please expalin it from quranic verses and explain where the numbers 24434 came from? I have never seen a verse that says anything about 24434?
