How do you see this as coming from "The Jews and The Christians"? Isn't it just disbelievers in general?

JK- Yeah could be but mostly Christians and Jews are arguing that Quran is copied from the Bible. GOD Bless!

          Peace

These verses are saying that only what is contrary to the truth can be brought forth that is different. Otherwise the truth is what the message is and you cannot bring something different if it is the truth.

            Peace "the nabi",
Yes but how do you know if something is the truth? Youll need to compare with the real world. GOD Bless!

              As Salaam Alaikum

Compare the Surahs of the Holy Qur'an to those of human authors and see if you can find just one who in a single chapter has dealt with science, history, philosophy, poetry, law and human psychology, hidden meanings, the future and logic and much more which we humans are ever discovering new meanings in, as we evolve.

              Qur'an fascinate me,
              peace

                    What I see, is this

You witness Gods truth. And if these verses are not true, then make new verses, and bring forth the witnesses to these.

Interesting idea. Can i know what is your definition on these witnesses? I'm trying to imagine, what kind of God's truth that they are witnessing. If the truth is the word of Muhammad that came from God. I assume the witnesses would be his follower/ companion correct?. So if the Christians or Jews are accepting the challenge and made a sura like it. Would their witnesses be their followers?

I notice the last word of the verses shown by JK. I think this is the punch line.

....and invite whomever you can, other than GOD, if you are truthful. <---- from my understanding this could mean they are being an atheist or serving other than God already. Which i can conclude, whoever wanted to accept this challenge is already not a believer.

Qur'an 37-9 Surah Ale-'Imran (The Family of 'Imran)
He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book in it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical seeking discord and searching for its hidden meanings but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord"; and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

Not necessarily. Let's suppose Christians vs Muslims, then it is clear that by referring to god, they would turn to their respective books.

Either way, it really doesn't concern me ;D

This is one of those chapters starting with - Alif. Lam. Mim.

                            Alif. Lam. Mim.

This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).

What if ALM is actually- ALMsyyh

The Christ is the WORD in which there is no doubt, a guidance unto those.

What if the slave is not Mohammad but Jesus?

And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful.

um... this is a severe and startling case in eisigesis, pvb. the Quran is not about Jesus. the Quran does not contain "hidden messages" about Jesus. the Quran states, simply, that Jesus was a messenger, a human being, who called his followers to worship God, and be compassionate.

we do not worship the Messiah, God forbid it. to read into the NT your ideas and find support for a trinity and for Paul's ideas, why protest that? it is your faith. unto you your faith, of course. but your eisegesis here, of the Quran and the opening letters, is confoundingly off. i also believe that God does not guide (in right faith) those who guess and suppose and invent ideas about Him without understanding.

i have not been taught anything, specifically, about the initial letters. but to say they spell out a message about Jesus being someone to worship... certainly not.

as a Muslim, i say that Jesus was not the "word" as you are quoting from John. i believe that he came by God's permission and blessing to speak about God to his followers, to speak the message of God to them. as far as him embodying God or being God, no. God willing you know that the Quran does not teach / describe that, and that this is not something Muslims believe.

ayani- How would that be a hidden message? A hidden message is counting every 12 letter to makes words, or using some math code to try and prove something. A sure guidance to people would not have initials that no one understands!

I don't believe that "The Christ is the WORD in which there is no doubt, a guidance unto those." is saying to worship Jesus.

Even as a muslim you have to agree that GOD had a special place and mission for Jesus, above all others.
