Split means one thing becomes two things or more. On the other hand, crack means one thing stays one, but an opining happend that changs its look.

The only time that the Quran speaks about one thing becomes many things are, when the earth and heaven where one, and then God "Fatakhom" and not "Shaqaham". Or the use of word "Faj-er" "explode" when God was speaking about the stones that water comes out of it (in chapter 2)

    (&#65279
Thenceforth were your hearts hardened; they became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when "ya-shaqaq" asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do. (74)

Please note the difference between the rocks that breaks, and the ones that "Ya-shaqaq"--"Cracks".
    Peace

Thank you brother for such knowledgeable post, would you kindly comment on the following http//www.studyquran.org/LaneLexicon/Volume4/00000300.pdf

Why you have so much hatred against The Sunnis? Are you jealous of them being on the straight path?

Ooops. Seconds after I deleted the word Sunni from my posting you posted the above reaction. Somehow, I did not want to provide you with a redherring, but you were very quick. Congratulation for catching the word Sunni and ignoring the cracking sound of silly stories in Sunni hadith books.

Have you heard the news about some sunni scientists (!) placing Mecca in the magnetic center of the world? Sunnis and Shiites are the number one enemies of the Quran and Muhammad.

      Peace,
      Edip

The hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. (54-1)

Are you refering that 54-1 is not true?

Come on brother, you cannot say that for the majority. Majority of the Moslims love prophet Muhammad and quran. Its only their ulema who have made the Islam a funny religion to take the knowledge and freedom away from the masses. So please dont be so harsh on Sunnis. nope

Will, I was asking does any body know any think about this pictuer, because if is true, thin the Quran verse indecates that the judgment day is near. According to Quran, the Insheqaq of moon will happen, if it did not happend.

I agree with belalhamad , inshaka means just cracked only not split . First time I've noticed that because of the interference of ahadiths in my knowledge .

Are you in doubt of the Quran? What is so significant about the picture if you already trust the Quran? And what if the 'end' was near? It has always been near. What does 'far' and 'near' mean to us when death is less than a breath away from us?

7187 They ask you regarding the Hour ?When will be its time?? Say ?Its knowledge is with my Lord, none can reveal its coming except Him. It is heavy through the heavens and the Earth; it will not come to you except suddenly.? They ask you, as if you are responsible for it! Say ?Its knowledge is with God, but most people do not know.?

I don't think anyone can predict the end. The above verse says it will come "suddenly".

We are not talking about the Hadith, we are talking about Quran

                            Dear Belal Hammad

Below are the translation of the first six verses followed by the endnotes (See QRT)

540 In the name of God, the Gracious, the Compassionate.
541 The moment drew near, and the moon was split.*
542 If they see a sign, they turn away and say, "Continuous magic!"
543 They rejected, and followed their desires, and every old tradition.*
544 While the news had come to them in which there was sufficient warning.
545 A perfect wisdom; but the warnings are of no benefit.
546 So turn away from them; the day will come when the caller will announce a terrible disaster.

                            Notes

054001 Hadith narrators and collectors misunderstood this verse and tried to support their misunderstanding by the fabrication of a hadith reporting that Muhammad split the Moon by pointing at it with his finger. Some narrators did not stop there and claimed that half of the Moon fell in the backyard of Ali, Muhammad's son-in-law. The believers of this hadith are silent to the critical questions about the event. Why didn't populations of other countries witness this incredible event? If there were such an astronomical event, many people from China to Africa would have noticed and recorded it. Besides, this traditional interpretation contradicts the Quran, which specifically limits the signs given to Muhammad to be the signs contained in the Quran alone (2950-51). The splitting of the Moon was fulfilled when Apollo 11 landed on the Moon and astronauts took some rocks from the Moon back to earth in July 1969. The word shaqqa, which we translated as "split," does not necessarily mean splitting in half (see 8026; 5044). When this event was happening, Dr. Rashad Khalifa was uploading the Quran to his computer in St. Louis. Splitting the surface of the Moon was the start of his work, which led to the historical discovery of the miraculous mathematical system based on code 19, prophesied in chapter 74, which happened in 1974. Thus, the following verse relates to this discovery. See 741-56; 2782; 381-8; 4028-38; 4610; 7228.

054003 The verse also may be read differently and understood as, "They denied and followed their wishful thinking. Indeed, every affair will find its right place."

You are right, none can predict the end. But, if God provides information through revelation then one might learn from it. As for the "suddenly" (baghtata), please note that all verses mentioning its sudden happening is about disbelievers. They will not believe it would happen in advance, despite its signs.

                              Peace,

The Day of Accountability for mankind is getting closer and closer, yet they are heedless and are turning away from the admonition.

The strike of the hour is going to be sudden, but the final chapter of this dunya is getting nearer. First by our life/time, as we grow nearer to death and second by the Hour as it is drawing nearer to us. The two points are moving towards each other by the second. So at least we know that we are not getting further from the Hour.

Dear Nun I do not have time to respond in detail to your criticism and problems with the great mathematical signs of the Quran. But here is a hint

If God can use the language made up mostly by pagans and uppreciative people, why could the same God not use the calendar made up by them? To appreciate why God is using the most widely accepted calendar to show people His signs require less prejudice and more introspective questioning.

BTW, Which calendar are you using for your daily schedule?

As for the meteorites... Well, from our perspective, humans splitting a piece of moon is much more interesting than the meteorites doing the same. Furthermore, our achievement in 1969 was because of God's blessing, and God pulls our attention to his blessings, such as ability to understand and discover His laws in the nature and use that knowledge to advance technology.

As for your insertion of Nixon and "crook" into the year 1974, that is the difference between us. We focused on the blessings and signs, you focused on the negative and crookedness. Have you seen those who do not appreciate the Quran focusing on verses about "hell" and "violence"? Look at the mirror and see where you stand in terms of witnessing the "one of the greatest" (7426-37)? Do you see great signs or a great hellfire? Do you see smoke when you read those verses or do you see the light of divine wisdom?

Well, I hope you will demonstrate some patience to read the following article

Which One Do You See Hell or Miracle?

Splitting the surface of the Moon was the start of his work, which led to the historical discovery of the miraculous mathematical system based on code 19, prophesied in chapter 74, which happened in 1974. Thus, the following verse relates to this discovery.

                                        Salam,

I agree with Edip that this event/prophecy took place in 1969, but for different reasons.

The word shaaq also has the meaning to breach (we still use the term in Arabic today such as saying shaaq alwaqlad tareequhu illa albayt - the boy made his way home). Thus, man reaching the moon in itself was the great prophecy of 541 (the breaching of the moon).

As for the photoshop pics that are being circulated of a great rift, they are just that.

                                          Salam Layth, All,

                                          Salam,
The word shaaq also has the meaning to breach (we still use the term in Arabic today such as saying shaaq alwaqlad tareequhu illa albayt - the boy made his way home).

There is no "q" in the word "alwaqlad ". This is a note for those who don't know Arabic.
