Okay, let's step back a bit and think.....God is 'All that is' and creation is a subset of God and All that 'is'. Are you with me? Creation doesn't exist outside of God, it exists within God. "God is the light of the heavens and earth and ...he to whom God gives no light, no light whatever has he. " Referring to my previous post, if you have no light, you're dead, you no longer exist. So....to have light is to have coherence, to have communication, to exist. So, if God is light and created creatures have to have light to exist, then, light can still literally be God and be the essence of all that is created.
I completely agree with that. In both the verses referenced, the light is referred to as an allegory, no? Let's forget about that for now...I guess the question is... Is God limited to the light, in your opinion? My feelings are that God is everywhere and in all creation. And that light could be God, but I still think it's a stretch to say that Light is God period.
However, I never eliminate any possiblities.

JK- Yes scientific reserach comes as close to reality as it can get.
In any case, did light cause the big bang? Was there light before the big bang?
JK- YES QUANTUM FLUX/LIGHT(as in conventional language) WAS ALWAYS THERE. IT is what caused the big bang and perhaps an in finite amount of other bangs as suggested now by Stephen Hawkins in his "theory for everything" model(http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLprHMq4ZkM).
I believe you are trying to fit modern 'research' into a quranic verse that's obviously a metaphor.
JK- No the first part of the verse does NOT appear to be a metaphorical or allegorical. The second is allegorical as it starts with the term "mathala" and is used to give an approximate description for us to understand it in the best way possible but only experience could really make us understand further eg like also in case of heaven and hell. If you have never seen green as a color it would be difficult to explain it to you and one can only use allegories to approximate it. GOD Bless!

i have just finished a post graduate course On Artificial Intelligence and Natural Sytems, and it is very true that some AI branches are loosely based on natural systems, namely Genetics ( Genetics programs and Genetic Algorithms) and neural Networks. Also some computer scientisits and researchers have been looking at how our natural defence system , to bacterial attacks from outside the body react, and try to copy the behaviour for computer systems thus reducing computing failiures doue to virus attacks.
The DNA proteins are being researched for thier capabilities as memory storage, a dna strand contains a "databank" of codes using protiens that are arranged in specific order, these prehaps can be used to store code, 010001 etc.
The research on creating a plasma based "chip" is very young however now we are talking about Artificial Life..which is a offshoot of AI.
So the times ahead are going to be interseting, AI is already very widespread but people dont realise it because most of the AI is embedded in Other systems..eg traffic light systems..weather prediction..not to mention the Internet!
