    Rahmadan fasting agreement

Desired Results - ( This is what The God expexts of all the believers )

    1. Fast for a few number of days in the month of Ramadan. 2184 - 185 handshake

    No...NO
    Its

    Rahmadan fasting DISagreement

The Ramadan Agreement should be according to Quran and not you, as follow

Fast for a number of days in the month of Ramadan. 2184 handshake

And the number of days is

Ramadan MONTH is in which was sent down the Qur'an as a guide to mankind also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong). So everyone of you who witness that month should spent it in fasting, but if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you He does not want to put you to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful. (185)

WE Have To Complete The Period of RAMADAN MONTH--Agreement handshake

I also saw that one of satans messengers was sent to make me suffer so that I would not feel too proud...

          Salaam to all

As I read all the posts, I could not help, seeing, this image

A man in ancient times (if you will) thrown to the grown and being beaten by the many spectators, and why is this, because he dared to speak his mind...Allah will leave to stray those whom he wills / pleases ...if you make a choice (LOL) then it is just that your choice and you alone will be responsible for it. Some say here that if they listen to Mr. wallace they will be astry and some think silently... could it be the other way around...?

in each case..remains the same conclusion you must make a decision..which will it be?

For allah to leave astry a person...1. he must already know they are not worth anything...2. they refuse to adhere and amend by what he has sent, (DOES NOT MATTER WHO IS SAYING / PARROTING IT)

I wish to see anyone Quote / say / Parrot other than Quran

don't we all wish we could be sure of each and every ayat of the reading...but for some reason the doubt still lingers on..and we persue to review them over and over again...ask yourself why?

Allah will only make understand..the reading to those who are sincere...but how do YOU measure your sincere.

Quran says measure and wiegh justly...like in measure your words...they carry much wieght... if you say something in contrary to thier undrstanding..you may force them to speak against thier lord...why would you provoke this..there is no complusion in this deen.

And they did not begin to debate / fight one another until the revelation came to them.

So before this...everyone was happy in thier ignorance?...no one really paid attention to anyone else because then they KNEW all were equally stupid.

Are we advancing / progressing...or are we with a bar in front and behind and merely standing still, contemplating our fantasies of wanting to believe and submit.

Looking at the behavior and speech of many here and other forums...I do get worried...self righteous...or freedom from shirk...to associated with Allah comes thru not understanding his plan and purpose...and I am one who if I do not understand...KNOW that Allah remains the same and has control over everything...all day and night...never ending.

I could go on, but I do not wish to bore / anger / confuse anyone...as to my thoughts....be at peace with your choice.

Because as long as you passed clear message from the Qur'an I exchanged similar messages with you but I realised that you are have taken the role of Pharisees. Another sanctimonious person trying to form yet another cult on this forum. laugh

Some of the advantages of fasting for a whole month

Your system gets rid of toxic waste and its like a spring cleaning of your whole body.

You save on food and, if eveyone was to fast for whole months, there would be plenty of food left for others.

You learn to appreciate the value of food and how all those people must feel who face famine or shortage of food.

You develop resistance to hunger and thirst and thus grow in patience and strenght.

2249 So when Talut departed with the forces, he said Surely Allah will try you with a river; whoever then drinks from it, he is not of me, and whoever does not taste of it, he is surely of me, except he who takes with his hand as much of it as fills the hand; but with the exception of a few of them they drank from it. So when he had crossed it, he and those who believed with him, they said We have today no power against Jalut and his forces. Those who were sure that they would meet their Lord said How often has a small party vanquished a numerous host by Allah's permission, and Allah is with the patient

When I think of fasting, it means not eating at anytime during the 24 hour period. Really you are just rearranging your meal schedule. Fastng for 12 hours every 12 hours.

During Lent people give up things completely, not just during the day, but at night too.

                    http//www.workersforjesus.com/gandhi.htm
In 1918 Gandhi first used the "fast" to make a point about nonviolence, attempting to put an end to conflict and mistreatment of Indians. He used fasts a number of times during his campaigns. Gandhi would simply stop eating until the opposition gave in on the point at issue. Sips of water were allowed during his fasts. As days passed, he would become weaker and weaker. His deteriorating physical condition would encourage his followers to exert more pressure. The British knew that his death would make him a "martyr" (one who dies rather than give up a principle), and he would have perhaps an even greater influence.

Peace, I fear if I have disobeyed my Lord, the retribution of a great Day...

Regarding this issue of Rahmadan, can we aggree that there has been a dispute regarding the number of days? Some believe it to be 3-10 days of fasting for the month, and traditionally and many believe we are to fast the whole month... Right?

What I have done is reconcile between the different parties with these different views, that whatever your belief is regarding this matter, you will be held accountable for the number of days you intend to fast... weather you are a 3-10 day believer or a 30 day believer... Then God will gather us all together and judge us reagarding what we have disputed...

Everything that I have taught on this matter was due to my understanding of the translation... Therefore if the translation is correct then everything stands, and if not then things will change...

This is only a message to the differt beliefs in this matter, that God is fully aware of who is best guided to the path...

                        peace

                        I agree with a month = 30 days

Salaam to all, here are the ayats regarding fasting, where any of you found a set number of days for fasting on ramadan...it is not quite clear for me...but there are other ayats that talk of compensation fasting which do number specific days...sorry if this does not help but it is the same problem I have everyday..the translations are at times so far off..you wounder who was reading the arabic.

                            ( , Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 183)
O ye who believe! written good for you, the fasting as it was written to those before you, that ye may heed,-

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kutiba alaykumu al siyamu kama kutiba ala allatheena min qabli-kum la al lakum tattaqoona

                            ( , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #184)
(fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.

Ayyaman ma doodatin fa man kana min-kum mareedan aw ala safarin fa iddatun min ayyamin okhara wa ala allatheena yu-teeqoona-hu fidyatun ta amu miskeenin fa man tatawwa khayran fa huwa khayrun lahu wa an ta-soomoo khayrun lakum in kuntum ta-lamoona

                            ( , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #185)
Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.

Shahru ramadana allathee onzila feehi al-quranu hudan lil nasi wa bayyinatin mina al huda wa
al furqani fa man shahida min kumu al shahra fa ya-sumhu wa man kana mareedan aw ala safarin fa iddatun min ayyamin okhara yu-reedu Allahu bi kumu al yusra wa la yureedu bi kumu al usra wa li tukmiloo al iddata wa li tukabbiroo Allaha ala ma hadakum wa la allakum ta-shkuroona

                            ( , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #187)
Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments. Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you, and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread; then complete your fast Till the night appears; but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat in the mosques. Those are Limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men that they may learn self-restraint.

But if ye are prevented (From completing it), send an offering for sacrifice, such as ye may find, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches the place of sacrifice. And if any of you is ill, or has an ailment in his scalp, (Necessitating shaving), (He should) in compensation either fast, or feed the poor, or offer sacrifice; and when ye are in peaceful conditions (again), if any one wishes to continue the 'umra on to the hajj, He must make an offering, such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, He should fast three days during the hajj and seven days on his return, Making ten days in all. This is for those whose household is not in (the precincts of) the Sacred Mosque. And fear Allah, and know that Allah Is strict in punishment.

Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due) If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running by way of repentance to Allah. for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom.

Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths for expiation, feed ten indigent persons, on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that is beyond your means, fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths ye have sworn. But keep to your oaths. Thus doth Allah make clear to you His signs, that ye may be grateful.

                                Peace to all.

I hate dragging this out like this, but that understanding is flawed. Nowhere in al-Qur'an is "ramadhan" called a "month" - it is merely a fixed period of time, a "few number of days".

Ramadhan can't literally be referring to a "month" because there's no definate way to determine how long a "month" was in the time the Scripture was sent down. It could've been 10 days, 30 days, or even 60 days. How would you know how long to abstain/fast? Has God told you that "shahru ramadhan" is 28, 29, or 30 days? Or do you speak of The God what you don't know? Al-Qur'an-Majeed tells us

"...And whoever was sick or on a journey, so numbered/counted from other days..." (al-Qur'an 2185)

It tells us that God wants us to complete the period/term/count from other days if we are sick or traveling during this period of ramadhan. If "ramadhan" was referring to a specific "month", this would not be possible - the "month" only comes back the following year, it can't be repeated during a second period to make up for the first. How can we "complete the count" of a SPECIFIC MONTH when it does not return until a year later? Ramadhan makes up a period of time, a "few number of days" (2184), when we are instructed to fast/abstain, it is not a 30-day month. If it is so, bring your proof.

Also, al-Qur'an says that we should abstain "shahru ramadhan", which many have translated as "month of ramadhan". However, it is not possible for us to abstain an entire month of 30 days. If we did so, we'd all die...

There are many verses in al-Qur'an that mention fasting/abstaining, and all of them refer to specific time periods or specific things to abstain from for a fixed period/number of days. The God wouldn't tell us to abstain for a "week" or "month" because not all cultures and civilizations have the same calendars numbering weeks and months. Your interpretations of these Scriptures regarding ramadhan are based on what your specific definition of a "month" is and not on God's definition.

                                Peace,

                                Ahmad

447 O you who have received the Scripture, believe in what We have sent down authenticating what is with you, before We cast down faces and turn them on their backs or curse them as the people of the Sabbath were cursed. And God?s will is always done.
448 God does not forgive that partners be set up with Him, and He forgives what is beside that for whom He wills. Whoever sets-up partners with God has indeed invented a great sin.
449 Did you not see those who boast about themselves? No, it is God who promotes whom He wills, and they will not be wronged in the least.
450 See how they invent upon God the lies; is that not enough as a clear sin?
451 Did you not see those who were given a portion of the Scripture, they believe in witchcraft and evil, and they say to those who disbelieved ?You are better guided than those who believed the path.?
452 These are the ones whom God has cursed, and whoever God curses, you will not find for him a victor.
453 Or would they have a portion of the sovereignty? If so, then they would not give the people a speck.
454 Or do they envy the people for what God has given them of His bounty? We have given the descendants of Abraham the Scripture and the wisdom; We have given them a great kingship.
455 Some of them believed in it, and some of them turned from it. In Hell will be enough flames.
456 Those who have rejected Our signs, We will admit them to a Fire. Every time their skins are cooked, We replace them with other skin that they may taste the retribution. God is Noble, Wise.
457 And those who believe and do good, We will admit them to estates with rivers flowing beneath, eternally they abide therein, in it they will have pure spouses, and We will admit them to a vast shade.
458 God orders you to deliver anything you have been entrusted with to its owners. And if you judge between the people, then you shall judge with justice. It is always the best that God prescribes for you. God is Hearer, Seer.
459 O you who believe, obey God and obey the messenger, and those in authority amongst you. But if you dispute in any matter, then you shall refer it to God and His messenger if you believe in God and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for knowing.
460 Did you not see those who claimed they believed in what was sent down to you and what was sent before you? They wanted to seek judgment using evil, while they were ordered to reject it. It is the devil who wants to lead them far astray.
461 And if they are told ?Come to what God has sent down and to the messenger,? you see the hypocrites turning away from you strongly.
462 Why then, when a tragedy befalls them for what their hands have brought forth do they come to you swearing by God that they only wanted to do good and reconcile?
463 These are a people whom God knows what is in their hearts, so turn away from them and advise them, and speak to their souls with a clear saying.
464 We do not send a messenger except to be obeyed by God?s leave. And had they come to you when they had wronged themselves and sought God?s forgiveness, and the messenger sought forgiveness for them, they would have then found God to be Pardoning, Merciful.
465 No, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in what they dispute with each other, then they will not find in their souls any animosity for what you have decided, and they will comply completely.
466 And had We decreed for them ?Kill yourselves,? or ?Leave your land,? they would not have done so except for a few of them. And if they had done what they were advised with, it would have been better for them and helped to strengthen them.
467 Then We would have given them from Us a great reward.
468 And We would have guided them to a Straight Path.
469 And whoever obeys God and the messenger will be among those whom God has blessed from the prophets and the truthful and the martyrs and the upright. What an excellent companionship!
470 That is the bounty from God; and God knows what is best.
