I am curious to know why people hide their identity from others? Is there any specific reason or reasons?
Please get me the reasons you think, as I found almost everyone doing the same.

Khanthe truth be told from my point of view, i find no problem showing who i am but it seems im the only one, so i feel degraded as im sellling myself on the net, but the fact is people see me everyday in public dont knowwhat the difference is here.i did put my pic up the other day for like 2 seconds felt weird then i took it back down. oh well god knows who i am

Actually, I find people they don't show their real name, address, email, pic, etc.... And even when you ask, they hesitate to provide with such info, this I found almost on all the forums, email, etc. But your case looks different

Khani dont mind showing a pic, but to share imformation, who am i sharng it with someone who has a pic of themselves, what do i know what goes on, on the other side of the screen that i sit behind , i think it is common sense not to share such things (personal information) until one is sure and trusts the other. even as friends. i will not share my last name, i will not share my number, some people like more privacy , but i think you should now all this already.

Even if two person are in contact with each other through a forum or mails in two flats besides each other, they don't know that the other one lives beside him. Is there anything great in it?

now im confused............well if you were walking down the street and there are a bunck of people there, would you just ramdomly give them your information.....its the same on the net, and even worse becasue here there is fraud and hacking and alot of things. agian its common sense but maybe you are new to the net and dont know these things, never give your password never give your real name and difintely never give your number to anyone,never accept any email unless you are 100% sure who they are from because some are viruses, there is a letter going around on email fron supposedly the government of canada but it is actually coming from the uk and people dont know this and give all the information even there bank information. thats terrible, this day and age my friend is the age of keeping all of your information to yourself. scary it is indeed, beleive it or not i feel violated everytime i have to use my bank card. i dont like any kind of cards i like the old fashion way.

You scared me I had a walk through all the streets full people and visited the banks and so on...
I know, I am not asking to disclose of Bank information, but what others can do if they know your name? Not yours sorry, I mean any name or contact number?
Alhamdulillah, I am not new to Internet, but I am not into those things and I am aware of the emails you told asking info and other emails from Nigeria for transfer of funds in millions. I know they are are fake. Let say, they got my email ID and they know my name, they are sending me such emails, I am simply ignoring them, then? What do you think in this case?
OK, if it is a case of a girl, then I can understand, but I am talking in general.
Till now, I learn that we should not disclose our bank details to anyone. Anymore reasons for personal details as I did not find any solid reason yet. I simply want to understand thats it. If we are hiding it for some reason then ok, but without any reason ???

That has been my question since I have been on this screen. The people like osee real people behind such discussions and the messages loose its power and trust when writer hides behind cyber id.Sometime the name is long and prefer to chose shorter one and signaling our belief which is not wrong and some the people are living in Mohammedans territories that are afraid from being apostate rejecting Hadith . But finally theu can not hide from investigating and finding them.
But people living in places that there is no censorship but afraid from their environment to be harassed or be terrorized think they are protected when birth and death of us is under God?s control unless we think He can not protect us.
GW we are going to start a forum with Real names which brings trust to people read the information.
If you like to be invited to such forum please email me with your phone number which would be protected from public and is used just for verification.
