now im confused............well if you were walking down the street and there are a bunck of people there, would you just ramdomly give them your information.....its the same on the net, and even worse becasue here there is fraud and hacking and alot of things. agian its common sense but maybe you are new to the net and dont know these things, never give your password never give your real name and difintely never give your number to anyone,never accept any email unless you are 100% sure who they are from because some are viruses, there is a letter going around on email fron supposedly the government of canada but it is actually coming from the uk and people dont know this and give all the information even there bank information. thats terrible, this day and age my friend is the age of keeping all of your information to yourself. scary it is indeed, beleive it or not i feel violated everytime i have to use my bank card. i dont like any kind of cards i like the old fashion way.
You scared me I had a walk through all the streets full people and visited the banks and so on...
I know, I am not asking to disclose of Bank information, but what others can do if they know your name? Not yours sorry, I mean any name or contact number?
Alhamdulillah, I am not new to Internet, but I am not into those things and I am aware of the emails you told asking info and other emails from Nigeria for transfer of funds in millions. I know they are are fake. Let say, they got my email ID and they know my name, they are sending me such emails, I am simply ignoring them, then? What do you think in this case?
OK, if it is a case of a girl, then I can understand, but I am talking in general.
Till now, I learn that we should not disclose our bank details to anyone. Anymore reasons for personal details as I did not find any solid reason yet. I simply want to understand thats it. If we are hiding it for some reason then ok, but without any reason ???

They use your information (Name; age) on fake passports used in fraud and ripp-offs. Fraud is more serious than what you know.

That has been my question since I have been on this screen. The people like osee real people behind such discussions and the messages loose its power and trust when writer hides behind cyber id.Sometime the name is long and prefer to chose shorter one and signaling our belief which is not wrong and some the people are living in Mohammedans territories that are afraid from being apostate rejecting Hadith . But finally theu can not hide from investigating and finding them.
But people living in places that there is no censorship but afraid from their environment to be harassed or be terrorized think they are protected when birth and death of us is under God?s control unless we think He can not protect us.
GW we are going to start a forum with Real names which brings trust to people read the information.
If you like to be invited to such forum please email me with your phone number which would be protected from public and is used just for verification.

I do not feel in favour of one or the other, but I think choosing a screen name helps not forming a preconceived opinion about the editor. After all, what does putting the real name serve? How woud you know if the name I am using is my real name or an alias? And on the contrary, I find forums insisting on first and surnames as suspecious. Why would they insist that I display my name? They can have all the details they want without displaying them.

I agree with you to a certain point that information is more important than name of author. But these forums are not like jokes, entertainment or other one that we do not care about who is writing it. Here we talk about search and study that some of those may take days, weeks or months.
It is like school you are teacher. The people read these informations can support it and give more positive reaction and when they want to inform others they can not say that was authored by a none person under cyber id.
Touching serious subject like Glorious Reading and explaining messages would have more effective when the source is known.
Birth and death of human is not under control of any other human unless God Willed.
If we be killed in the path of infrming others of God?s messages we are saved and not real death.
But God give us all kind of tools to save us from dangers and even permit us to give lip service with idol worshipers if our heart is beating with God Alone.
God has give us freedom that even we can kill ourselves but it is sin and it is mistake . If I jump over the bridge or use poisons in my body by inhaling or drinking it to likk ourself is our mistake not God?s Will.

I don't think that fraud can take place with anyone's name age and sex info. pic may not be good for females. I think in this world of mistrust we must try to enhance it with little gestures. Not talking about detailed personal information but some basics may not be the problem. I don't see a problem with e-mail address except you receiving too many mails or mails with viruses.

...using nicknames and photos are certainly means to protect ones privacy and/or saftey. no objection to that.
On the other hand can a nickname and a nice picture enhance the own profil by making it more interesting and therefore better to remember. In the chatrooms a interesting nick is like a signboard and can help to come into contact with people you maybe not talk to on the street.
Secondly nicks and photos can help to transport a message to others, working as a first statement, impression.
Personally I like the mesage in anna's pic. Always makes me laugh a bit.For myself that is my real name and if u want to know me a little more u can find me at www.friendster.com . When u find my name with the two Kendoka then u got me.
