Circumstances requiring a bath ?

Ghusul is a very common word, and we use it in Urdu as well , It means dipping, or taking some thing through some media, like water , acid, any chemical etc, for a deliberate purpose. when no media is mentioned , it is always taken for granted that the media is water, and when even no particular part is mentioned and the subject is human (body) It is for sure understood as a whole body bath with water.

Yes you are right in urdu we do use the it to mean washing , but is that what the word meant in the quran originally? from the context , the usage of the word in the quran.
like we all know a masjid is a building , salaat is the 5 daily prayers so and so and so..........God Bless All.

We are under obligation from others that we should take bath when we hear them say about us "He is so smelly; why doesn't he take a bath and come!" So, when we ourselves feel we are very nasty, we feel obliged to take bath; and also when we feel dead tired after our hectic activity but still we have some good works to attend to, we need to refresh ourselves so that we shall not be offensive looking in the company of others.

DrAfzal, SIki,
While I know that everyone can interpret, according to their own logic and rationale what "an obligation to take a bath" means, and I also know what tradition dictates to us about this situation, I was just wondering if the Quran itself mentions when exactly you are under obligation. How do Quran aloners follow this ayat? Surely it can't be left upto everyone's individual interpretation, which can be different.

As of right now I follow the mainstream rules of what "obligation to take a bath" means, aka after sexual intercourse etc.
But what do Quran-aloners follow? What does Allah mean by "an obligation to take a bath" according to the Quran. I'd like to see some answers based on the Quran if possible, thanks guys. I looked and looked and looked, and couldn't find it anywhere. -
I was hoping that someone would answer my question here. To a Quran aloner, what are the "circumstances" requiring a bath in this verse? I have not found the answer in the Quran yet, so I follow tradition, but would like to know where the answer to this particular question is in the Quran. Under what circumstances do Quran aloners consider it necessary to take a bath before praying?

I have already posted, that janaba is the state which people then understood as , A state after intercourse which necessitates taking a bath, when the Quran was revealed people understood that meaning so that is why the language of the quran used that word, and that is why even the dictionaries mention that to be as one of the meaning. i think that should be enough. On the other hand if you are looking that quran should define every word of Arabic that it uses, I guess you would be disappointed.

I wouldn?t say it is a wash after sex and that is it , its actually recognising and doing away with anything harmful to you or others. ? but that is my understanding.
Look around at the people who don't take a bath after sex in cold climates, how is it bad for them- i would have thought a bath after a hard hot day is very beneficial or when ever you are foul.
Salaams All.
