This is pretty much the first time I'm actually talking (more like typing) to people publicly about this. p
However I'll make this short because this past week has drained me (more emotionally than physically) because of the whole issue between traditional (sunni, shia, etc.) Islam, with the true religion (which has been apparently corrupted by a lot of hadiths) but that's not to say that all hadiths are proven to be bs. I believe in some, those that are touching, make sense, and don't start enforcing laws and restrictions the Quran didn't, but the biggest restriction I must agree they have enforced is the wearing of head-coverings by women. Trying to eliminate that would undeniably be the hardest task of all (not saying anyone should. The Quran just doesn't say it's a must. A girl at 10 looks not much less attractive than she would be at 17, so what's the point in having her wear one when she reaches a later stage in her life).
The most saddening of all is that Quranists are simply part of the remaining 10% of muslims in the world (the other parts are shia other sects) whereas sunnis constitute 90%...saddening indeed, because it's like the Quran (and God) are not enough for people that they have to refer to volumes upon volumes of hadith books. I personally don't think it's a coincidence I was never taught hadiths as a young kid or ever saw them as religious guidances. I was raised to read and recite Quran, just like most muslim toddlers anyway.
The reason I'm drained is because I've been reading a lot of disputing arguments (more like opposing articles about Islam, and what is haram and not, especially with the case of MUSIC) so this is why I'm making this short.
Well anyway I came here because I noticed a lot of, what seem to be miraculous, verses from the Quran are suprisingly ignored, and counter any hadithiest (lol not an insult btw) belief in general, and I feel pretty attached to this forum, not so much because hadiths attack my life in general but because I'm starting to see more light shed on the true religion and it's starting to reveal itself to me clearly now, even when I'm just 20. The whole #19 miracle in the Quran also draws me closer to it and away from hadiths that not only give me an evil (and dumb) impression of Islam but also to a lot of people (probably the majority) living in the U.S. Imagine if the traditional Islam was based on the Quran alone. How many people in the world would embrace it and come close to the belief!
I've been a muslim most of my life. I was raised by parents who lived by the Quran but regarded hadiths also, but they weren't ever really into it (which one probably shouldn't be) and that is how I am. I'm the kind of person who would pick option 3 on the opinions of hadith on here (which I did, I think #3 totals up to be 19% now).

Hmm well lots of information can be draining and overwhelming just take your time indulging it..
As for hadiths well it's pretty hard for people to see past them, seeming its basically inherited and supported so much.. it's like waking up to a society trying to teach them men can wear skirts and dresses. it'll take time till they feel comfortable to the idea don't ya think? (depending on the culture off course).
From my own experience i think it's best to be sure and content before being determined in agreeing or disagreeing. It's easy to accept things sometimes without deep thought just be sure, be sure, be sure, be sure as the Irish would say

hmm, the best way to rid the Muslim world of this hadith disease is to show them Islamophobic sites like Faithfreedom International and Jihad-watch(which makes maximum use of hadiths) and when they'll be left tatterred and torn, tell them that hadiths are bullshit. That should do the trick. Lol that's how I came on line.

Maryland USA . The thing a lot of muslims have to realize is they (those lot) are not even following the hadiths while they preach it. For example yesterday my brother was explaining the importance of hadiths. I should've asked "where's your beard then?" (because not having one, or even having one trimmed, goes against the supposed saying of the prophet which is "leave the beard alone" but I thought I shouldn't put him down. After all, that's what hadiths do. They put incredibly stupid limits on your lives and they contradict themselves as well. I heard my mom saying there's a hadith saying "Allah doesn't look at how you look, but what's in your hearts" <-- THAT one I can live by and accept any day, any time. Yet notice how this goes against the notion that trimming or shaving a beard is supposedly haram. nope
Want to know one of the most stupid contradictions? In Sahih (yeah right) Bukhari, it narrates that our beloved prophet said "whoever changes his religion, kill him" (yeah, Allah would choose someone like this as his prophet ), emphasizing the current law of apostasy in the so-called "Islamic" world. we know the prophet really said that (sarcasm), because in the Quran it mentions several times that "there is no compulsion in religion". See where I'm going with this?
It's kind of sad people blindly follow hadith that even contradict the Quran. This is what happens when you get so into reading 10,000 hadiths when the Quran has about 6,000 short and clear verses in it.
You go by the Quran, you're fine. The ayats don't contradict themselves. The ayats are clear and understandable. They're even in a miraculous mathematical system, and the number of times bismillah is written, as well as the number of times other words are written, are all multiples of 19! And there's an ayah that mentions the number "Over it is 19", and this is a revelation 1400 friggin years ago.

Welcome brother, nice to know you have "woken up" at such a young age but trust me on this, it is a continuing journey and this is just the end of the beginning as they say. Just pray to God to give you guidance and do not be arrogant in dismissing anything which goes against what you believe in. I personally think that if you have given an argument enough thought to stand in front of your Lord and say that you did what you thought was right, then God is the most merciful.

I agree, arrogance is one of the things God hates most and it's a dangerous thing. I only do not accept hadiths that go against the beautiful, merciful, and fair religion that is True Islam and the only religion Allah actually loves.

Well I went into that topic making an @$$ of myself...
You see? How miracles from the Quran bring you closer to it and away from statements that contradict it...but there is one saying I think is miraculous, and that is the one about dipping the fly in the soup...a recent research showed that drowning flies in ethanol, extracts antibiotic material (the substance which would be used to cure the poisoned part of the fly).
Which still goes with my current belief, which is that some hadiths are possibly right (^that being the closest to me so far) and some that are outright wrong and sexist.
The thing about the statement is this. I can't say I know Muhammad pbuh said it, but I know someone back then must have had this knowledge. Whether or not it's a revelation from Allah to our Prophet, I don't know, but I can put it into my stack of acceptable hadiths. I'm 95% convinced this is a true saying from our prophet.

Instead of making a separate topic about this, I thought I might as well say it here because it has to do with how I came to God alone.
I was going to make one called "My Problem with Hadith Worshippers".
However the reason I say they worship it is not to insult them. I say this because they believe in it as they ought to believe in the Quran, which, to me, is a sign of shirk (associating partners with God) because no one's words are on God's level. They argue that it's from Muhammad but it was revealed to him from GOD. They are wrong; it's that simple. If it was from Muhammad, we wouldn't be reading Sahih Al-Bukhari on the front covers of these Hadith books. Thus, it is Bukhari himself, saying this person, said that this person, who was a close friend to Muhammad pbuh heard the prophet say"".
Anyone hear played the phone game? Anyone here actually think all the hadiths (530 in Bukhari and a 1000 something in Muslim) are word for word correct and ought to be feared like they came out of God's mouth?
Leaving that aside, here is my problem with these people.
They have the nerve to talk among themselves calling people who don't believe and live by every "Sahih" hadith kafirs. Yet these same people have yet to swallow the fact that Bukhari at least once contradicted the Quran and this contradiction isn't an insignificant one. In fact it is probably the reason events like 9/11 occurred in the first place and the blasphemous hadith that was probably the cause of it is "kill whoever changes his religion".
But it's kind of hard to imagine that every single one of these people, sitting at their computers talking negatively about people behind their backs (which is a sin by the way) have mountain-long beards, like they claim they're supposed to have. I mean, where do these people live? In the USA? UK? How else would they know English so well? The only people I see with untouched (untrimmed) beards are people above 40 years in a masjid, and there's like a 2 or 3% of these people that I see. I bet these people (who are obviously at an age between 16-30) believe having a beard but keeping it trimmed to a 2-inch level is permissible, or having one that is "fist-length". The strange thing is that the hadith that tells men to have beards is "leave it alone", so why could we possibly trim it in any way? They then refer to another hadith where one of the companions grabbed his own beard and trimmed what exceeded the fist.
First, not only do these hadiths contradict (as I've previously mentioned the nature of hadiths) but the second isn't a saying of the prophet. It's just a narrated part of a story. Technically, this companion outright disobeyed the command of the messenger (assuming Bukhari is infallible like God), which, by hadithiestic logic, equals punishment in the hereafter and an everlasting abode in hell.
I'm sure I'm going to find other surprising contradictions with this way of life that unfortunately dominates the muslim world.
I can't imagine men over the age of 35 spending time on a muslim forum TALKING CRAP ABOUT ANOTHER SECT OF ISLAM! What kind of people would these be?
The last thing I'm going to mention is their apparent hostility and bitterness towards people who even worship the same God they do. It's apparent because they constantly mention our supposed miserable fates like they know the future. Shall we quote verses from the Quran showing that they abandoned it, and/or believe in something other than it, and the fact they follow things that go against the Quran (I found this out on this site's home page)? You see, this is the difference between them and us.
As for me, I'm not trying to talk about them negatively, or calling them non-believers. I just can't imagine how they live without being hypocrites.

By the way, is it me, or is reading sharia and fiqh laws & arguments give headaches?
Finally, as for me personally, I don't regard Rashad as a prophet like any we've had (then again no one said he was), but from my understanding Allah in this book said that he'll send reminders to people. I think he was one of those reminders, who, like the others that lived centures ago, were killed by the unjust people.
Seriously, how are you going to kill Rashad for worshipping Allah? "But he disobeyed the prophet and thus disobeyed Allah!" So if the prophet says to kill non-muslims, while Allah says to treat them kindly, how to you obey both? Answer You can't rely on text that the prophet (or God for that matter) hasn't approved of. It's like putting Shaq in NBA LIVE 09 without getting his consent.
Thought I should mention another VERY important subject I bet has already been described here, but before I began, I want to say that I hope every person who strived for the life to come gets his/her reward, even if they follow something that isn't 100% true, but at least their worship was for God.
Most muslims especially the scholars are mispracticing their religion by misinterpreting the meaning of "Obey Allah and his Messenger", especially since, in the English form, is misleading, because in original Arabic, it means something a little different.
It is saying to us that we should follow the messenger for the message that he has, i.e. the Quran.
"Obey the messenger is conditional on having the message, the Quran. Obey the messenger because of the message he has, the QURAN. Obey the messenger means to follow his message that is given to him, the QURAN."

Also, it states that adding "Muhammadan-rasullulah" in the shahada is almost (actually, equal to) idol worship http//submission.org/muhammed/shahada.html because the shahada is to proclaim that there is no god but god. Saying muhammadan-rasullulah, a fact no greater than Moses and Jesus being ones, in the shahada is pointless, and the shahada is for god only. It also mentions in the Quran to make no distinction between messengers, so, preferring to say Muhammad's name in the shahada in this case, and not Moses, or Jesus, or Abraham, is taking away a trait that makes you a believer. Yet if you go to any Islamic country today and say "La illah illalah, Musa-rasullulah" they would massacre you in an instant, or just have gaping mouths in front of you.
They're missing the point and it's that worship is for god alone and there's no need to be mentioning messengers in the shahada, nor are we supposed to prefer Muhammed over anyone else.

The question I posted there (which was weeks ago) wasn't even answered. He simply referred me to another answer he gave to a question having little relevance to mine.
I asked him why some sunni muslims live by the hadith "leave the beard alone" while there's another hadith where one of the companions simply, didn't, and trimmed it, pointing out the fact the companion disobeyed the supposed command of the prophet. The author ignored this and simply referred me to another answer, where he stated the first hadith makes the second invalid, yet at the same time didn't state (or admit to the fact) that the companion disobeyed the supposed command of the prophet. I like how he words things according to his whims and desires.

Do you know that the chapter titles and decorations were added by man? If so then how do you know where chapter 9 ends and starts? Don't replace Hadith with other manmade junk.

None of the Chapter titles were added by man (and the proof will be given unless they had calculators, which we know they had not). Decorations have nothing to do with this either.
