    salam,

    Is Qur'an complete? If yes, then could anyone please show me where in the Qur'an 5-daily salat are mentioned also how to offer these salat prayers?

    pbuh

    If The 5 Times Daily Salat Prayers are not mentioned in The Qur'an , then why are you doing it ?

      Salaam brother
      Quran is complete
      Quran is muffassal
      Quran is Tibyaan
      Quran is tells every thing .
      These words used by the quran are usuall usually heard.
      But what is the Practice ?

      Salaam,

      Thank you for proving my point.

      You seem to disregard God's words in the quran and take them lightly. They wash over you in less than a second. When the verses of God hit you, you will not ask such questions. Nor will you need a BUT after these statements.

      In your post, you refer to the statements by saying 'These words used by the quran are usually heard'. Do you know you are talking about God's words? And so what if they are usually heard? It seems the main points of these verses have not hit you. You seem dissatisfied with God's words and assurances that His book is complete and fully detailed.

      After reading all the above verses I am contented that The Qur'an is complete and fully detailed , any defect in my understanding is due either to my own lazyness or my lack of intellectual capacity and nothing else . After all , how many times must The God tell us that The Qur'an is easy , complete and fully detailed ? Here are some more Verses for further readings 638 , 413 , 6114 . Our Lord , increase our knowledge and grant us wisdom from yourself .

      Peace

      almarh0m

      The answer to your question is in the quran if you choose to see it. First, have faith in God's words that you refer to so lightly in your post. Then adopt almarh0m's approach and you will probably find the answer to your question, or indeed see that your question is wrong in the first instance.

      But what is the Practice ? Sunny Salaat (ask the reason = lame exucuses) Why ???
      Prove practically brother. Verbally much can be said. Actual thing is practibillity. If it is not there every sermon is fruitless.

      We should try to prove these Quranic Claims and not do otherwise round

      We are a different community from Sunnis. We have nothing to do with them and they have nothing to do with us.

      Regards

      Brother, just because someone follows the traditional method of prayer does not make them sunni. Nor is it called a sunni salat. Nor does it mean you are using other sources. The sources that detail this 'sunni salat' you refer to came 200 years after it was established, maybe more if this indeed was the traditional prayer long before Mohamed's time.

      As I said in an earlier post in this thread, I follow this traditional prayer, but that does not mean that a different physical prayer is wrong. See my example of a one ruka'ah prayer with 5 rukoo3 and 5 sujood. What if I pray like this? Does that mean I am using another source other than the quran for my physical prayer? Let me make up a different physical prayer...... 2 raka'ah, one rukoo3, 4 sujood (and ofcourse, following the guidlines for physical prayer like ablution and not speaking too loudly not too quietly). Is this wrong? No.

      Now following the same concept, I make up a salat similar to the traditional one.

      If you study the topic of salat, which you obviously are doing, then free your mind of any ideas/images of what salat should be. It seems you have this view that there is only one specific ritual that has to be correct, and you cannot find that in the quran. Thus your attitude to the verses mentioned above and your obvious annoyance when they are constantly repeated.

      We should try to prove these Quranic Claims and not do otherwise round

      I think you mean, we should try and act according to these quranic TRUTHS.

      There is no need to prove any quranic claim. All quranic claims are 100% true as they are the words of God. Prove to yourself that the quran is the word of God, and that is all you have to do.

      Trying to stick to the point of the thread, what do you make of the narrations stating that there are 5 pillars of Islam? How does this sit with you bearing in mind the quran is complete and fully detailed?

      Regards

          God has a reason for not mentioning unneccessary details (like how to eat, how to sleep, how to get intimate, how to scrub your ass and teeth) because he doesn't want people to be reading and memorizing more than they should in his eyes.

          You'll also notice that details of prayer are also not that important, because it's the heart and willing to pray that matters. My grandma could not stand on her two legs, crouch and repeat this 5 times a day.

          I believe the Quran mentions either 3 or 2 prayers, but I think it's 2. It mentions Fajr and the night prayer, which is known today as Isha.

          The interesting thing to note that even in all the hadith books, which has words summing up to more than double or triple of the words contained in the Quran, does not give details on how to pray. Maybe more detail, but it still leaves you with questions. Yet this is the most prominent argument hadithiest use. Talk about FAIL. nope

              Salaam Metoera,

              I agree.

              The quran says it is complete. It does not mention what hand to use while eating. Nor does it mention a set method for physical prayer. And many other things. This does not mean I am using another source for my eating, praying, or whatever.

              Anyone who asks, How do I pray using quran alone? Or, how do I eat using quran alone? has not grasped the concept yet.

              Regards

                The reason being, I know I already pray more than I have to, even according to hadith books.

                I pray

                Fajr 2 rakats before, 2 Fajr rakats

                Duhr 4 before (in 2 prayers), then 4 for Duhr, then 2 after

                Asr 4

                Maghrib 3, then 2 after

                Isha 4, then 2 after

                So it's not that important to me if the REAL obligatory prayers are 2, or 3, because I'm not concerned with that, because either way I'm not lowering the amount of times I pray. I have no problem with praying more. Neither do I have a problem with fasting on certain days of the week or giving more than a 2.5% amount of net income to the poor.

                By the way I'm just curious...what was your purpose for that response? It just seems a little anti-Quranalone, to me personally.

                Salam

                  Salam my dear Brother,

                  "The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient." (6115)

                  The study links of the study guides which Wakas posted are quite good. The Quran has all the details which we need. It is complete.

                  In the Ayah you brought, the word "Quran" is not there.

                  The Word of God has always been complete even before the Quran. The OP was in regard to the Quran.

                        As for those who disbelieve, they will continue to harbor doubts until the Hour comes to them suddenly, or until the retribution of a terrible day comes to them.

                          My dear angel,

                          You need to be very accurate and not mix words when it comes to Al Quran. "Word" does not equal "Al Quran". Whenever you see the word "Word" then it is "Word". Whenever you see "Al Quran" then it is "Al Quran". Whenever you see "Quran" (Just Quran without Al) then it is "Quran". If You see "Al Kitab" then it is "Al Kitab" and not "Al Quran". We are not to mess up with Al Quran words and replace their places and change their meanings.

                            So what does "word" imply in your opinion?

                            "We have given them a scripture that is fully detailed, with knowledge, guidance, and mercy for the people who believe." (752) Do you think that "scripture" implies any other than the quran?

                            6940 This is the utterance of an honorable messenger
                            6941 It is not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you acknowledge
                            6942 Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed
                            6943 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds
                            6944 Had he attributed anything falsely to Us
                            6945 We would have seized him by the right
                            6946 Then, We would have severed his life-line
                            6947 None of you would be able to prevent it

                            We know that the Quran was the only revelation that Pr. Muhammad got. We know that the only thing he could preach was the Quran. Above, it says "revelation" - do you still think it implies anything other than the Quran?

                              Salam angel

                              kalimah= word
                              kalimat= words
                              Quran= Quran
                              kitab= kitab; some translate it as book, others as scripture, for me it means more than that.
                              wa7ey= revelations. Moses mom got a revelation to let her new born baby in the sea. So was that a Quran, the revelation she received?

                              And so on.. handshake

                                  Salam

                                  Dear Brother
                                  First of all we should stop Sunni Rituals and perform our own and preach them .
                                  Preaching = Quran alone
                                  Practice = Sunni Salaat

                                    Peace TAJ,

                                    "Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt." (6114)

                                    Do you think "this book" refers to anything other than the Quran? The only scripture/revelation that Muhammad got was the Quran. Besides, do YOU think the Quran is complete? Yes or No?

                                    Peace Q_s,

                                    You're right about not performing Sunni rituals,

                                    And @ Meteora

                                    Why are you doing "Sunna" prayers? Are you a Sunni? Where in the Quran does it say to pray Sunna prayers? The extra prayer is the one at night where you meditate, praise God, recite the Quran, etc.
                                    You believe in code 19, right? And that it proves the rakats? So why do you perform Sunna prayers? I'm not saying you shouldnt pray more or anything (although the people from submission.org say so) but those come from hadiths.

                                      )

                                      , "Then is it other than Allh I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters.

                                      I saw that in the translation that you brought and also the one I found in Google, the words that I coloured in orange are the translation of the one word ?Al Kitab?. My question is why did the translator translate the first word in the Ayah as The Book (and in other translations it is translated as Quran) and then translated the second word as The Scripture? In the Quran, the original Arabic Quran, it is the same word repeated twice in this Ayah. So who gave the translator the right to choose different words to translate one, same word ? Well, this is the understanding of the translator. He thought that Allah could not have meant that Al Kitab means Quran in both places because if so, then the previous people must have also received Al Quran way before Muhammad did! So, they concluded, Allah must mean another thing even though Allah has used the same word twice.
                                      Well, I do agree with the translators that the word Al Kitab (The Book) can have more than one meaning, depending on context and also on one?s own understanding. In my personal understanding, it could sometimes mean The Universe. jedi

                                      handshake peace

                                        The thing is I do not know any other way to pray, and I do not see the point in changing it when I like it as it is now.

                                        The details of prayer are not important, so if you're praying the Sunni way, fine, as long as you're doing it for Allah and not idolizing Muhammad.

                                        Also I'm pretty sure now the obligatory prayers are 3. It mentions from fajr (start) to night (end) and emphasizes the middle prayer, so that sums up to a minimum of 3. I however like to pray more, because, it's easy for me to stare at women even though I know it's wrong (Quran says lower the gaze). I feel that it's right for me to do a little extra worship if you know what I mean.

                                          And I forgot, angel 1993, to answer your question

                                          Besides, do YOU think the Quran is complete? Yes or No?

                                          Where does it say in the Quran itself, cover to cover, in all through the 114 surahs, that this Quran, cover to cover is complete the way it is? That the 114 surahs are all the surahs it contains? That the Ayat it contains are just those and nothing more? Who wrote the index? etc... I need an evidence from Al Quran About the Quran itself, and not about Al Kitab, especially when the translators all agree that Al Kitab can have more than just one meaning.

                                          handshake
