Do Animals Believe in/Acknowledge God?
-
Mainly by efficiently playing the role they were assigned and created for, for the welfare of the whole universe.
^^Best explanation of animals roles in our universe imo. Humans are at the top of the chain so to speak but could also drop to the same level as animals (do not have quranic ref to hand).

"From among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the creatures He spreads in them. He is able to gather them, if He wills." (4229)

Do you not realize that everyone in the heavens and the earth glorifies GOD, even the birds as they fly in a column? Each knows its prayer and its glorification. GOD is fully aware of everything they do.
That's the only one I can come up with now. HTH.
Thanks Bro Aynur.. a truly wonderful quote..
There are BILLIONS way of 'shalat' and means of Glorifying God.
Time for 'sectarian' folks to redefine their understanding of 'shalat' as merely a uniform and sequential rites of bowing standing up and prostration..Peace

Peace Jafar,
I'm actual a 'sis'. -
I think they do their roles perfectly. The sun can't choose not to shine or decide "Hmmm, don't think I'll burn as brightly as I'm supposed to" Nothing in the universe deviates from the laws of nature, which are the god's commandments to all of creation.
Ofcourse the Sun can't choose to do ANYTHING, it is not a living entity capable of making decisions or acting upon them.
So this does not make sense. The Quran says God made "things" and they glorify him by fulfilling their roles. They are not "actively" fullfilling their roles because that would mean that they have a choice in the matter. Can they ever NOT fullfil their roles? -
Everything in creation manifests the names of God. When they are manifested without deliberation, they are pure and untainted in such manifestation. That is what so wonderful about animals and so awesome in things. That in deliberation and decision also the names of God can be reflected would be the "specialty" of human beings. We all praise the names of god, lahulhamd.
Salaam

What does a French translation of Quran have to do with this?
Peace,
read carefully, Wakas wrote the following in that thread
After a brief analysis
some notes
SBH is only given to God.
people should SBH God.3215 if one gives SBH they are not arrogant
571, 1744 all things inanimate and animate SBH God
1744 people do not comprehend such SBH
230 SBH can be communicatedIt is interesting that people do not comprehend SBH of other things. I would assume this is because it is not obvious (i.e. a tree doesn't say "Glory be to God" so a tree is in the act of SBH yet we dont sense it.
I think this is where the underlying meaning of SBH comes in... it could be related to the following to swim, coursing along (as used in 2133, 3640) and it seems to be with the flow or on a set course. Lane even states some animals have roots associated with SBH, possibly because they follow a set course or go with the flow or go where their master takes them. This ties in with your observationsFor humans, SBH can be communicated, as we have a voice, but it could also be deeper, i.e. we follow our set course.
