I notice a connection regarding many hadith. The things that are prohibited in them, but not in the Quran, such as silk, and music, are supposedly stated by the prophet to be haram, yet he promised these things to his people in paradise...anyone sense something fishy here? If they are "evil", then what place do they have in heaven? Anyone else think that God wants us to abstain from something simply because we find it pleasing? Or because that thing which we like is actually harmful to us physically and/or spiritually?

It's a given that there is no evil in heaven, and if silk and music are evil (which they are not, according to Quran and even common sense...) they cannot be in heaven either.

Hadithist "BUT THEI WILL NOT BEE HARAM THEY WILL BE PURE!!"

      hypno

      Peace

We won't have the devil nagging us in heaven so we won't sin. If wearing silk etc is sinful then that would be a contradiction.
According to my mother, men shouldn't dress like women (cross dress), which is silk/ gold are 'sinful'. I don't see silk and gold as cross-dressing, do you?

The definition of "cross-dressing" is also debatable.

Look if you don't have the intention of doing it then what's the point. Hardly anyone is actually going to put on make-up, where skirts and bras and say they aren't trying to cross-dress, but just because you want to look like a goth or emo with emo hair doesn't make you a devil or a cross-dresser, no matter how much a sunni tries to argue it is.

I don't think prohibited things are allowed in paradise. The Quran refers to the cup of happiness or whatever, but the hadith embellish this and says it's an intoxicant, and there will be rivers of wine, etc. The Quran says their will be servants, but the hadith says beautiful boys. The Quran says there will be Houra which could refer to the fruit of illumination, or more traditionally maidens of light. The hadith says translucent giant amazon albino nymphomaniacs with enormous cow-eyes/bosoms.

How do we know that it is wine?

According to hadith, heaven is nothing but an X-rated sex haven for men. Are we going to believe that too?
