Do you see any aya telling us to accept any "books", plural? Allah, sent His BOOK, singular.
This is not the whole story. The Qur'aan calls the Tawrah, Zaboor and Injeel AS WELL AS the "Furqaan" by the singular name "Kitaab Allaah."

Thats because he started the topic saying the Injeel is no longer a book of guidance. Now, is that what Koran actually says? This is a contentious issue here especially for those who have prior beliefs. Also the hadiths have given us a complex about narrations which is what many verses of the previous scriptures are like. But I believe the Koran is talking about the religious aspects of the previous scriptures and not its narratives. I think also its important to add that while the Talmud is an oral traditions which jesus and even the Koran condemned some of its excessive religious doctrines, the Koran did confirm some Talmudic narratives like Abraham and the fire and Solomon and the Hudhud and Gahanam(hell fire). Also some stories in Moses like the the raising of the Mountain during the covenant. So I guess we can say at the minimum we must not accept hadiths that CONTRADICT the Koran and take hadith as voluntary and not compulsory but take our core religious understanding from the Koran. This is a more mature outlook, I think.

I believe the hadith should be only used as a historical reference about the life of Mohammad (pbuh) and his companians .
And I don't personaly have anything against using the hadith(If it did not contradict the Qu'ran most importantly ) as like words of wisdom ...
Hadith is just part of history and it should regarded as such nothing more or less.Peace,
Respectfully.I also think that hadith are some sort of history and i don't use them as historical reference because things get out of hand and people start tkaing history as the law, as we have seen with the sunnis.

Exactly, and this is the consensus we all should agree upon. I also recently stated that the hadiths are haram because they state many things that are complete opposities to what is stated in the Quran. They would then be labeled as blasphemous "hadith".
The opening poster deserves a pat on the back for that. However that was back in 2003...wow.

I think you either misunderstood this forum and this thread, or you are here for your own agenda. We highly respect all messengers of God, including Muhammad, and we believe in what has been revealed to him. Not accepting the hadith claimed to be from him is not synonymous to being disrespectful of him.
