TheNabi's post scares the hell out of me - I'm going to me purpetually in fear of sitting next to someone on a train who's reading a sports magazine, lest they agree with his theory about "indulgence in the feeling"!

Maybe they will ban magazines as well as everything else.

WOW!! As a former Catholic, I am astounded at the openness to masturbation here. The pope and his minions consider masturbation as bad as murder...it is what they call a 'mortal sin.' Mortal sins are worshipping other gods beside God (that is ironic), trashing sacred relics and statues, murder, fornication, adultery, masturbation, stealing, telling lies about a neighbor, etc...etc...There is no distinction between these sins, and the sinner is doomed to hell if he is not absolved by the priest in what is called a 'confessional.' If a person eats and drinks the eucharist without confessing such serious sins to a priest before the distribution, then that is a mortal sin too. The rituals of the Catholic church are set up to beat you down at every turn.

        Happy masturbating!! O0 yay rotfl

Peace the word is not secretly it is ikhtaana which means to betray oneself, as it concerns the fast. It could be talking about whether they felt as if they were betraying themselves knowning that they had been fasting or it could be referring to the fast that they were allowed to have sex but would have prohibited themselves, there by also betraying themselves(what they really wanted to do). The word doesn't mean secret anything.

                            Godbless,
                            Anwar

Before the revelation of the Quran, fasting was ordained by God and practiced, however, sex, during all of the fasting month, was prohibited. The people, however, although there was a prohibition, had sex. The Quranic verse is allowing sex during the nights of Ramadan.

                            Peace

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Yes according to quran we have to make up the missed fasts so even if someone fasts in the wrong period its still rewarded (God willing)

It doesn't make much sense to me. If that logic was followed, we would get rid of all rules that people don't bother to follow. For a logically coherent moral system, we have to presume that rules are there for a logical purpose, and so there needs to be a darn good reason for something to change. It cannot be because God decides to be more forgiving, as that would imply he made a wrong decision previously, which is inconsistent with monotheism.
