Is Killing Insects Haram?

I personally don't kill any insects outside if I can help it. If they're in my house and something like a mosquito, earwig, spider (I especially am a little scared of spiders), I'll kill them.
Moths don't scare me and I try to catch them or shoo them outside.
I think if you can avoid it you shouldn't kill them.I agree 100%. I like to think of it this way, if they are encroaching on my territory (house, car, etc.) they will meet their demise. If I am encroaching on their territory (woods, port-a-potty, dive bar in New Orleans), then I'll leave them be. Heck, Mr. Wasp wouldn't tolerate me building a house on his nest, neither do I tolerate Mr. Wasp building a nest on my house! laugh

I like spiders now.
I use to be afriad of them but they're actually more afraid of me. Except the big ones, they're....they might be dangerous, could have some poison or whatever.Glory be to our God.

They are obviously a wonder. This is why I feel very guilty about killing em. Does it make it worse that I get someone else to do my dirty work for me? &

I have a crap load of centipedes sometimes running around and they scare the living crap out of me, so, why can't I kill it? They're like my worst nightmare.

I kill insects and other gross stuff when I see them in my house.
However, if you have bees, wasps, etc. in your house, it's better to just open a windo/door and let them out. -

Not when something is somewhere far away from a door/window. Besides, didnt you know that mosquitos, for example, go to light - not to darkness. Try letting them out your window at night - you'll fail.

I should say that I live it an island which is 1.5 miles across! so the sea is less than 300 metres away from where I live!

The island where I live is 33 miles long and 2.5 miles wide at it's widest point and only 50 yards wide at it's narrowest
