Just looking at the satellite photo you can see it was formed by a volcano. At one point in history there must have been a much larger island with a volcanic mountain that blew itself apart. Fantastic photo.

Thats true! The atolls of maldives were formed by super large volcanoes!

That is beautiful, you are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. Is it expensive to live there?
not xpensive compared to US! Its expensive compared to other south asian countries! But you only see the pics of resort hotels and inhabited small islands (villeges) The capital city where i live is a horrible place to live! some places are nasty!
Conclution
It is not too expensive to live here, but the 7 star and 5 star resort islands you saw are a bit expensive!
