Here is the translation of 4824 using Classical Arabic dictionaries and the context of war from the passage to translate the common description "mecca"

sister Samia would you please confirm if mecca in the above verse means "Mecca in Saudi Arabia only" or "destruction" as brother ayman says? and also we Muslims believe masjidil haram means kaabah at Mecca in Saudi Arabia only is that the correct translation of masjidil haram or not?

Lisaanul 3arab says that "Macca" is so called because water in it is scarce and they have to "suck " it from the soil. So the meaning of macca as Ayman states is the verbal noun of to suck. It also means "crowd" and "destruction"The other thing to consider is whether the expression (batn (belly) is normally used with towns and cities. There are two main usages of batn
1- Directly related to belly as in sub tribe = batn.
2-Indirectly related to the shape of belly surrounded in all directions/in the mids as in Batn of the earth and of a valley.
3- When talking of a town, the word used is (baatina\ ) and means the inner society (from Al-3ain dictionary).
