- And it is He Who has restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of Mecca after that He gave you the victory over them. And Allah sees well all that ye do.
Here is the translation of 4824 using Classical Arabic dictionaries and the context of war from the passage to translate the common description "mecca"
- And it is He Who has restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of destruction after that He gave you the victory over them. And Allah sees well all that ye do.
sister Samia would you please confirm if mecca in the above verse means "Mecca in Saudi Arabia only" or "destruction" as brother ayman says? and also we Muslims believe masjidil haram means kaabah at Mecca in Saudi Arabia only is that the correct translation of masjidil haram or not?
Thanks

Lisaanul 3arab says that "Macca" is so called because water in it is scarce and they have to "suck " it from the soil. So the meaning of macca as Ayman states is the verbal noun of to suck. It also means "crowd" and "destruction"The other thing to consider is whether the expression (batn (belly) is normally used with towns and cities. There are two main usages of batn
1- Directly related to belly as in sub tribe = batn.
2-Indirectly related to the shape of belly surrounded in all directions/in the mids as in Batn of the earth and of a valley.
3- When talking of a town, the word used is (baatina\ ) and means the inner society (from Al-3ain dictionary).

Thank you sister Samia. So it means midst of Mecca is the correct translation. Thanks again peace

2145 And even if you bring to those who have been given the Book every sign they would not follow your qiblah, nor can you be a follower of their qiblah, neither are they the followers of each other's qiblah, and if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, then you shall most surely be among the unjust.
2148 And every one has a direction to which he should turn, therefore hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things
Purpose serves as a principle around which to organize our lives.
so what is your QIBLA??

Ok, thanks. So I guess it's not referring at all to what direction your prayer should be at.
Kinda makes the traditional "Qibla" a useless one.

Peace Mazhar,
If anyone reads the tactics adopted by the Pagans of Mecca in the days of revelation of Grand Qur'aan, he will find similarity with the above approach of ayman. Qur'aan is everywhere talking about specific "My House" and Specific Location and Specific Purpose and aymen still insists "ANY" place. I therefore again suggest him to please start taking a lesson of Arabic from an excellent teacher luckily available on this Form, Sister Samia.
I am sure Samia knows all about the pagan in Mecca. We all do. We all see them mindlessly spinning seven times around a stone cube and kissing and fondling it and the Black Stone. One doesn't even need to know Arabic to see the pagan circus going on in Mecca. If the same exact thing was happening in your town, you would also call it pagan. The air in Mecca doesn't turn something pagan into something rational.
Definite Noun; has been used with "The Sanctified House". And Ibraheem alahissalm had said, " " "O Lord Your Sanctified House".
Therefore is to be read and understood with reference to the word and not with reference to anything. The perception infolded in the Root of is that of prominence and appearance. It is employed to refer to ankle bone which projects above the tarsus. It is used to refer to prominent and protuberant breasts of a woman. Such breast which is not protuberant Root is used and like of that particular breast are the orbits of sun and moon etc.
It is used to refer to a square/rectangle. . It is also employed for any quadruped, four leg mammals; four legs make a rectangle. And any thing square/rectangle has the peculiarity of prominence, visibility, raised above ground. When we say "My house" the perception conveyed is that of a physical structure having four walls, a roof and a door. Ayman, is this "ANY place" or a specific physical place? So according to your nonsense 597 is saying one of the following
- The god has made the ankle bone the inviolable house...
- The god has made the breast of a woman the inviolable house...
- The god has made the four leg mammal the inviolable house...
- The god has made the anything square/rectangle the inviolable house...
- The god has made the physical structure having four walls, a roof and a door the inviolable house...
As predicted, you don't know the meaning of "kaaba" and you exposed your ignorance on this matter. I would suggest that you kindly ask sister Samia how she understands mundane everyday Arabic expressions like "ka3b al-wadi" when she hears it used by folks in rural Arabia and "ka3b al-7ithaa". Ask her if it means "the ankle/woman's breast/4-legged mammal/rectangle/four walls, roof and door" of the valley or the shoe or does it have another meaning that every Arabic speaker knows very well?
Peace,
Ayman

Frankly speaking You are an idiot as well an emotionalist. Senseless talk. No discussion.

is for emotionalists who deliberately act as an idiot i.e. mentally under aged; stuck up with their own thoughts and desires, love and hatred. say Good day and get away.
Therefore, for that reason, you may leave them and what they imaginatively innovate/fabricate stories/sayings.

Peace Meteora,
Then my thoughts were right.
And I'm starting to believe the ka'ba in Mecca is not something God likes at all.
....but....what about the Qibla? Does that exist? I guess it's not really aimed at the ka'ba (cube in Mecca) is it?Rasul Hamsa eloquently explained what "qibla" is. We can empirically verify this using 2142
FM Translation
The foolish from amongst the people will say ?What has turned them away from the focal point that they were on?? Say ?To God is the east and the west, He guides whomsoever He wishes to a straight path.?If you go to any Mosque where physical direction is important (Sunnis, Shia, Submitters) and pray in any random direction away from the direction that everyone else prays then you will certainly be asked ?What has turned you away from the focal point that you were on?? This is empirically verifiable physical reality.
To those foolish people we should say ?To the god is the east and the west (god is everywhere), he guides whomsoever he wishes to a straight path (which is certainly not a highway to Mecca).?
Peace,
Ayman

So where do you face during salat?

Peace RasulHamsa,
2145 And even if you bring to those who have been given the Book every sign they would not follow your qiblah, nor can you be a follower of their qiblah, neither are they the followers of each other's qiblah, and if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, then you shall most surely be among the unjust.

so what is your QIBLA??You are precisely right. This is why the truth shines even in Layth's erroneous translation
- We see the shifting of your face towards the sky; We will thus set for you a focal point that will be pleasing to you ?You shall set yourself towards the Sacred Temple; and wherever you may be, you shall all set yourselves towards it.?Those who have been given the Scripture know it is the truth from their Lord. And God is not unaware of what you do.
Even from Layth's erroneous translation we can see that "al-masjid al-haram" is nothing other than "the truth from our lord". So our focal point should be the truth from our lord. In other words, as you said, the truth from our lord provides the principles around which we organize our lives. It is instituting the truth from our lord in our personal lives and govenment. So "al-masjid al-haram" is primarily an institution and not a superficial four walls and a roof.
- Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it as they know their own children; and a group of them hides the truth while they know.
Those who were given the book (not a map to Mecca or anywhere else) know it ("al-masjid al-haram" as they know their own children. No one here or anywhere knows Mecca or anything in it as they know their own children. On the other hand, deep inside those who were given the book know the truth from their lord but most of them hide it.
Peace,
Ayman
