    Did Jesus Christ have a father? some say he hadn't. some say he had.

    Peace,
    Respectfully.

    I don't think he had a father - God knows best but The Quran doesn't mention him, does it?
    We must always provide Quranic evidence, right?
    Glory be to The MOST Merciful.

    Peace.

      In traditional Christianity his father was God. In non-traditional Christianity his father was Joseph

          That was the question that split the Christian church at the council of Nicea, with the Trinitarians winning the day

              of course he had a father, this world is not a playground for God, it's a serious place where there are rules, laws and there will always be a father and mother to every child.

                mention the verse which indicates he had a father!

                  besides, must it be mentioned he had a father? not every messenger's father is mentioned in it... nor should it be.
                  a lot of things are not mentioned in the quran

                    and what is this

                    Mary says "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" verse 47.

                    Why did she say no man has touched her. If she already had a husband as you said, of course he had touched her.

                      i say it's either a mistranslation or misinterpretation or both.
                      because it goes against other parts of the quran, one for example being that jesus was created like adam (mankind), that verse is not there to uphold a false belief that christians distorted, but to correct his image, jesus was created just like all other humans (adam)...

                      and i can't go throwing that away just because this one verse says somethign that might seem to contradict it atfirst glance, especially when you look at the quran from a certain point of view and see what it actually says about miracles and such things, and nature and a system that God created in which are set laws and nothing changes, so it can't be billions of people born one way and just this one human born another way...

                      so then you'd have to rethink that particular verse, because it's the one that falls out of place.

                        so what is the correct translation for that verse. I do not know arabic. please provide a correct translation. I wonder why God would send us verses as difficult as this which 10000 persons would interpret it as Jesus had no father while among them one person will be found who says this is a wrong translation. jedi and he had a father.

                          I vote for Joseph..
                          Jesus needs a Y chromosom from somewhere..
                          He was Joseph's sperm, how does his sperm (or at least his Y chromosom) get into Mary's ovary or egg without any sexual interaction, that's the miracle..

                            Not necessarily, a scientific evidence from natural observation could be better..
                            As said in the Quran God's verses / symbols / ayat is written everywhere, in the heaven and the earth..
                            I don't see there are any differences between Law Of Nature and Law Of God.

                              Male and female mating is not essential for procreation.
                              Parthenogenesis in plants
                              Cloning in animals is a well recognised phenomenon.

                              Some are saying "from where did Jesus AH get Y -chromosome ? if he had no father.For their information no doubt normally you always need genotype
                              XY = male
                              XX = Female

                              But there is a condition called as Sex Reversal .In this condition there are
                              XY = females
                              XX = Males
                              http//www.lds-mormon.com/gender1.shtml

                              Secondly
                              Adam is Adam not Banu Adam
                              Banu Adam is Banu Adam (man kind).
                              Allah know language much better than you and me.He knows the difference and usage of these two words.

                              Regards

                                    From the same mormon's article it is also said

                                    "There are also individuals who are chromosomal females with XX chromosomes but who develop as males. Again, the condition may not be evident until puberty."

                                    Thus Jesus was borned female? and became male after puberty?
                                    Or perhaps Jesus was actually female after all! <-- there are people who also believe as such.

                                    To me the proposed scenario above was.... less likely..

                                    In a Quran it is clearly stated that Mary had a baby boy..
