I've thought about not existing/not having existed and I think that is awful. Why not take your chance and live, rather than not even knowing what it is like to live and having a 0%-chance of going to paradise?

I chose undecided.
From my reading of the quran we all MUST have been given this choice by The God before our earthly life. Everyone reading this chose yes obviously and entered the earth as humans welcome lol. But what's intriguing is we don't have a recollection of this decision making.
I dont agree with the interpretation that we are here because 'adam' whomever that maybe sinned and we ended up here as a result of it. We reap what we sow and going solely by deductive reasoning our earthy conditions i.e which family we're born into must have been conditional on our past life as souls. It doesn't make sense to me why some people are given a head start(wealthy family) in life while others live till 2 years or 3 years and come into a poor family and die.

Does anyone know Pascal's Wager? If you do then the true question is how sure are you your choice (for guarantee into heaven) is the right one. Because every religous follower seems pretty convinced in their own insurance policy. As well as being convinced everyone else is wrong.

Let's say God exists, and what The Quran says is true, that basically you get (in the next life) what you give (in this life).
Knowing this to be true, and you had the option to choose, which would you opt for?

to not exist (i.e. to have no existence whatsoever, no life, no thought, thus no memory of anything, no feelings etc. and therefore do not have to take the test of life, thus no reward/punishment, nothing)

To have a life, e.g. the one you have, and take the test of this life, which you might pass (reward), or you might fail (punishment).

Were I to know what I would experience (up to now or even 9 years ago) #1 by a long shot, but that's all I'm going to say.

I dont understand people who chose 'no life'. If you get no life in the first place, then there is a 0%-chance of getting into paradise already. Why not take your chances with a life, where the chances to go to paradise are above 0%?

I know that it can be interpreted differently, but think of 'the shore' as the reward of paradise.
If there was no afterlife, then wouldnt you feel awful, as you would know that it's this life and nothing else - in fact, it's only nothingness/emptiness.

Each one can end his life anytime he chooses to, he might be saved/stopped somehow, but the ability to choose to cease to exist is always available.
Thus, all those living are choosing to stay alive, as in the instinct of survival. Every creature is fighting to save its life, to live longer and to procreate. We are choosing to live since we were young, even babies do cry instinctively to ask for food, or to tell there is something wrong. It would be un-natural to choose otherwise.
To Be Or Not to Be? That's the question.
Wakas, the situation that you have presented is impossible, because you have to exist to make a choice to not to exist. If you do not exist, then you don't need to make any choice.

The only reason I live is for reasons like my parents (who want me badly) and for a good achievement in the afterlife. Surely committing suicide isn't going to get to anything, at least, I think it won't, especially if the result is hurting my parents badly.
So this is why I live. Had it not been for these reasons, then there is no point in life (for me). It does not matter what this life has got to offer. Life, at least for me is pretty damn imperfect, to the point I actually hate it and complain at times. Now I don't know if this complaining equals not being thankful, as I try to be thankful pretty much all the time. I'm not sure if this is the equivalent of being satisfied (not completely but just enough not to worry or complain) so I'm pretty confused on this matter. It's not just a matter of not getting what I want. A lot of stupid crap happen to me all the time, like this college semester for example. I'm trying to purchase my textbooks online for cheaper and they take an entire week to arrive, and I couldn't purchase them before classes started since I needed to be sure exactly what they were. A week wasted = points lost = lower chances of getting desired grades = less chance of getting into desired university = probably not ending up with a decent job or having to go out of state just to continue my education. Not only that but I have to do online homework and studying for a class I can't even study and work for, because the damn technical/customer support specialists are too slow with fixing my problem. Anyone reading this may think this is a very stupid reason to hate life and they would be right. This is just an example of the kind of bs I experience nearly everyday. I bet not one person in my trigonometry class has had this issue and I do...why? Why am I the only one also who registered for this one online class late, just because I didn't know it existed until a week and a half after it started? This is the kind of nonsensical crap that occurs in my life. I could elaborate on what almost caused me to end my life last year as well. All in all life, to me is so damn undesiable. I am also (it seems) naturally pretty abnormal.
Either way I do not like the fact I was given life. This is not me being ungrateful but me in all honesty. I'm not going to lie, and I'm sure not all (or everyone who has a life) like their lives, be they rich or poor, for whatever reasons they should have, but, you don't have to have lived a happy life to go to paradise. I think you have to have a good record you'll be happy with when you're presented with it by the god.
People may brag about the afterlife and that is ok. I imagine the afterlife as a life where you get anything you want at any time, a place where everyone holds hands and say peace the whole time. It's very appealing but as of the moment, this does not make it seem to me that this is worth going through what I've gone through and this is assuming of course I'm even going to paradise, but yeah...no. Add to that the possiblity of ending up with the exact opposite....and I love the idea of never having existed even more, probably even an infinite times more. I see people who value their existence so much and their hoped future paradise as....somewhat greedy people. I am not greedy and I think my desire to have never existed proves it.
God has given me good stuff though, I'll admit and am thankful for that.
