    Salaam Meteora,

I noticed you were careful to avoid the God word, the foundation of Islam is there is No God, simple, and clear,

Finish the sentence The foundation of Islam is "There is no god but God". That doesn't mean "There is no God, yet there is a God".It means "There is only one God"

      Salaam Tareq,

Allah is a man then, not a women, in your eyes?
      A God not a Goddess?

As God is a word with gender, as it is a personification, you have not read the explanation on my website, you wish to believe in the subjugating lie of a God afar off, up in the sky, feel free, nothing I could say would alter a view based on conjecture, and in direct contradiction to the physical evidence.

        Salaam Abdun Nur,

        Salaam Tareq,

Allah is a man then, not a women, in your eyes?
        A God not a Goddess?

Allah isn't human, so in my eyes he is neither man nor woman.
If Allah were male, that would imply a female counterpart and vice-versa.
I don't believe that God has a gender.

As God is a word with gender, as it is a personification, you have not read the explanation on my website, you wish to believe in the subjugating lie of a God afar off, up in the sky, feel free, nothing I could say would alter a view based on conjecture, and in direct contradiction to the physical evidence.

Are any Arabic words without gender?
        Is "bab" male?
        Is "madrasa" female?
I don't know where you got the impression that I believe that God is "afar off, up in the sky". I will take a good look at your site and get back.
        Peace

Sorry, but that is such an illogical argument. A text-book straw-man logical fallacy. You can certainly believe allah = The God, without postulating an abstract, pie-in-the-sky type god.

          Peace

            Salaam Tareq and Jack,

as I said you are not interested in understanding, you go round in circles, and I have little interest in explaining to those who have no interest in understanding, you ignore God and Goddess, male and female, and continue to view things without reason, you wish to believe in a personified God, I have little time to waste on pointless debate.

It would seem that it is not me that is ignorant as I do not insult other people and many people have him on ignore.

                        Salaam Rev John,

it was not an insult, just an observation, if what you say is true, it confirms my point, ignore-ance is bliss, they have no interest in thought, just in religion.

Yeah, sometimes it is good to ignore.

Eh, to whom does your they refer?

I can see your first it refers to a previous post. And so the second it refers to another previous post. And you, Rev.John it seems. And my, obviously you.

Just an observation. It is not an insult.

                          Peace.

P.S. i have just deciphered it, your they refer to 'many people have him on ignore', right? Yeehaa, i'm not that ignorant after all!
Now what about this him? confused

Great article OP. Reminds me of Exodus 314. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

                              Hello....

"They have certainly disbelieved who say, ?Allah (Not God) is the third of three*, and there is no god except one God.? And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. (Surah 5 - 73) - from servantof thelight

573 Rejecters indeed are those who have said God is a trinity! There is no god except One god. If they do not cease from what they are saying, then those who reject from among them will be afflicted with a painful retribution. - freeminds.org

*Allh al-ab meaning God the father, Allh al-ibn mean God the son, and Allh al-r al-quds meaning God the Holy Spirit.
This interesting as allah is not even given the first place.

-Webster?s Dictionary gives the definition and etymology of Allah as follows. Allah is the Muslim name for "the God." Allah is derived from two words "al," which means "the" and "ilah," which is related to the feminine Hebrew word for God, "eloah."
If the above is true for "La illah ha illallah" , then it would be similar to say ?there is no car but The Car?. A contradiction. Is not the car still a car? This even makes allah smaller as allah is just another god and looking back at the xtian concept no wonder allah was qualified as the third of the 3....i am just thinking aloud..Yes I am using the translation form ser.......com

?How would you interpret "Allah La Ilaha Illa Huwa Al Hay Al Qayoom"?
                              I too wanna know!!

A peaceful approach to truth may work wonders?..

                                Salaam,

Allahu la ilaha illahuwa alhayyu alqayyoomu

The one who is not illah (god), will not become illah (god). But, who is ever living and self subsisting, from whom all things subsist. (a point of interest for you ?hayya?, not only means life, but a life of a burning fire)

Thanks to Brother Badar for this definition.

                                      Salaam Ahmad,

You asked ?I've been really considering your ideas concerning Allah, and I'm starting to have a similar outlook... What exactly do you believe Allah is, where is He, and where did He come from??

Allah is explained within the Qur?an both physically and conceptually, but if viewed through the contamination of the God personification can not be understood.

There are only two things in existence, the first is absolute pure nothingness, the second is a single consciousness, they exist in a state of dichotomy.

If you want to understand this in detail read

                                      http//servantofthelight.com/content/view/92/124/

Everything in existence is pure imaginative thought, this conscious thought manifest every reality instant to instant, without this constant re-invention nothing would remain, so when considering Allah, the manifest realities are only the conscious thoughts of the single consciousness, not in themselves the single consciousness, but as this consciousness is all that exists we perceive a physical truth to Allah when none can exist, consider your own mind, your thoughts are you, but not you.

I've been to your site and spent most of the day reading some of the articles found there. They are very thought provoking.

But as far as the subject of this thread, I do not know that I would agree with the "No God" translation for Allah. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that by stating that there is no god but the "No God," you are implying that the there is a problem with associating any sort of deification to Allah. I can appreciate the effort since the idea of deities have been programed into our mythos and psyche to be conceptually limited in some way; be it through gender, capability or even philosophical traps. And of course Allah is without any limitation.

My issue is that such a redefinition causes more constriction than less. A god, gods, the godhead or other nomenclature have a universal meaning that spans the various cultures and their respective religions; that a god is an entity much greater than a human with supreme authority and control over all that is created by the gods' will. This universal understanding permeates throughout the various mythos that add varying details, details that will be the focus of whoever tries to ponder the concept of the "No God," which alludes (at least to me) to the "not God," or the "unGod."

I say it is more constricting because it attempts to define Allah, not just the word but the Almighty, and I doubt we have the faculties for such a feat.

The verses below indicate to me that Allah has no issue with calling Himself God.

                                          Surely your God is One,
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them and the Lord of the sun?s risings.
