(423 And those who have responded to their Lord, and they hold the bond, and their affairs are conducted by mutual consultation among themselves, and from Our provisions to them they give.

Democracy as simply being 'vote of the majority' is a very bad idea.

And if you obey the majority of those on Earth they will lead you astray; that is because they follow conjecture, and that is because they only guess.? (The Message 6116)

The solution is to have a constitution based on the framework of God's guidance and then within such a framework you can have democracy.

      Well which guidance the sunni,shea,Hindu,sikh,judaic.......?

People have so many guidances they say is Gods and are actualy lost.

If we not follow any guidance handed to us, but decide for our selves , what is wrong with that so long as it doesn't do away with the rights of others?

      4238

      Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular counsel; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance;

You see the lord is within us all but more visible to some of us then others and so some of us can better guide us or show us the way in better terms then others.

      peace

Correct me if I'm wrong - but if you classify democracy as a legitimate religion, then shouldn't you include the following -

          Republicans
          Europeans
          Americans
          Asians
          Nazis
          Zionist
          Oprah Winfrey
          KKK
          Rock n' Roll fans
          Hiphop fans
          Avatar fans
          Communist

          etc. etc.

Or maybe I didn't really understand what you wrote Omneiza (AGAIN)
Dude isn't there some kind of sense-making classes you could take?

Peace Bobo! I don't understand what you mean by democracy being a legitimate religion. If you could re-phrase.

Government of the TRUTH by the truthful/just people for all people. No one can deny that there is the truth!

No such government, no such place.. that truth is non existent.

Lets start with the truth Sarah. Truth is undeniable cos your denial is confirmation of it - saying it is the truth.

i doubt that we are to establish a system here that gives 51% of population control over the rest 49%...

Democracy did not come from heaven - people instituted it. We have duty to establish govt of the truth for ourselves.

When you get enough people to follow you and a political group that upholds truth.. you can instigate truth and share it with us all

Democracy is a way of life/a religion/a deen - legitimacy aside! USA wants the world to adopt it.

Democracy is not the perfect system. It's better than the alternatives but it's not the perfect one. And as long as ppl think of democracy the way you do nobody will find a better solution.

I'm actually referring to the voting system. It's better than communism and dictatorship. But like Nerspi said - the majority gets what they want. If one side is 51% and the other 49%. That's 49% out of the population who are unhappy with the government.

And the risk of assassination always stands.

I don't have the solution - if i had to choose i would choose democracy as we have it today. But there has to be something better...

Finding the truth is by research & consultation - no brain is a waste. So it is govt of all in the community & one goal.
