If sol-laa-ta means ritual prayer then how does Shu'ayb's ritual prayer order him to tell people to serve the god alone, trade equitably, not corrupt the land etc.? I don't see how a ritual prayer can order someone to do anything. Perhaps his ritual prayer was sign language meaning, "go to a transgressing nation and tell them to behave." The only way to make sense of the context is if sol-laa-ta means something that was enjoined (enjoinment). The god commanded Shu'ayb to go to the transgressing nation and instruct them of a better way of life, thus this commandment given to Shu'ayb became his enjoinment...

4 - are the "physical positions" like standing (م , bowing (ع and prosternating (د , parts of any "enjoining" processes ??

I submit to Allah. I am a believer, a muslim with faith in his heart. I believe 'salat' is prayer prescribed to us at timed ordinances.

Salaat is not enjoinment, but the idea of connection, or tying back (re-ligion, re-connecting) is implied in the word.
Salaat deals with programming of the mind/subconcious. The things we do in life, how we RESPOND to the events and challenges of life, are automatic responses based on a PROGRAM. This PROGRAM is pre programmed in animals and plants and in the LOWER PART of man. However Man is the only being with Free Will, and therefore has been entrusted to Program Itself and to GUARD the PROGRAM from others who are able to reprogram it.
The mind/subconcious goes through different states of receptivity throughout the day and night...when we are daydreaming, or "spaced-out", or in a period of high emotionality, then we are very receptive to ideas/thoughts/images, etc. This is how we learn and reprogram our selves. This is why in a culture where there is hard core gangster hip hop, gangster movies, and violent video games....we get violent people. That which we see and hear constantly wil one day catch us in this MIDDLE STATE (between wake and sleep) of high receptivity and PROGRAM US. That is why we are told woe to the programmers who are heedless of thier programming. People dont understand how the process of learning/programming takes place.
