Women's Singing and Qur'an Recitation in Public
-
I have an app on my iphone that has different Quran recitations and it has one by a woman (in English) and next to it, it says, "Sisters only."
and how do they detect you're a sister?
It is not permitted for men to listen to the singing or recitation of strange (non-mahram) women, whether it is with or without the fear of fitna. It does not matter whether this takes place from behind a screen, a recording, or otherwise, because it is established in the primary texts that a woman's voice can lead to fitna. As such, it may not be used in ways that could be expected to lead to it.
it's so full of opinion, where is the evidence? just about anything can lead to a fitna.
-
of course! men are basically animals that cant control themselves, thats why women have to be covered up and hidden away so as not to arouse them . I dunno why they bothered doing away with burying them at birth, saved a lot of upset (
Men need to practice self control and lower their gaze as the Quran instructs us to do.

the root is in the quran, don't you know that verse? that tells women not to speak softly... can't remember exactly though...

I don't understand why the word "fitna" is brought in whenever something is related to women? Iblees is obviously not woman or feminine.

if it's the verse Mazhar is talking about then you have it wrong
No way really...just a warning like the signs on women's restrooms
I bet if there was a way to detect your gender they would use it.
hahaha that would be funny but sad.

yes, its that verse Mazhar is talking about and I don't have it wrong! This is the verse that Muslim based their reasoning when talking about sexuality/attraction related to women's voice!
-
But if we scan Free Minds forum we will find more men in this habit than women on the forum. And you know Iblees influences the man most.
yes brother, because Male to Female Ratio on the forum 11.7 and even fewer women participate.

Voice is the weakest stimuli that can excite. First and strongest is the vision and touch.
By "voice" I mean speech.
-
I know you love being sarcastic but read the content then use your reasoning.
I've read the content and I know what you mean but that doesn't change the fact how Muslim understand it!
