Would someone determine the mood of the verb?
can you make your question clear because I didn't understand what do you mean by the mood of the verb? if you can write it in Arabic , it'll be good .
-
Whether it is active, passie, jussive, subjuntive, imperative
Typically the verb came with a situation of order, so I think it is imperative according to what you stated here in your post but we don't use Arabic like that, it is not english.
so here God like saying "do not Call for" not "Calling for=as they translated it", because there is a situation of showing them that they are in a strong position later, so there is no need of Calling for a period of peace. They can call for a period of peace if they are not in a strong position.

Thanks. You think it is . And this imperative will be conditional and vary in two situations. Is it what you say.

hummm, Yes you're right . it will be conditional and vary in two situations .
the first one is " Do not be weak and do not call for a period of peace"
the second is " " (I don't know how I can give you this an english) .
this is the Arabic explanation

Last time you said it is imperative verb. Now you are saying it is in subjunctive mood. And the man whom you have quoted says that the first verb is in jussive mood because of the presence of Prohibitive particle La and he goes on to say that the second verb is also in jussive mood because of conjunction Waw in between and at the end truthfully says what the verb actually is i.e. it is in subjunctive mood.
I do not find any precedence in Qur'aan to support this base less understanding. If you have please quote that, laxity for you is that you may even quote from Bukhari and company in support of aforesaid logic.

I gave you the two situation of the verb in Arabic, so translate it and make your own statements, I really don't understand what do you mean by "subjunctive mood or jussive mood or whatever " we don't use Arabic like that. Don't learn Arabic from an english view, the rules are entirely different.

I will not give you anything else because I gave you all what you want, you're just trying to find something goes with what you wrote in your translation. So you accept what I said or you don't and let's wish peace to both of us .
the verse is like that
- So be not weak and ask not for peace (from the enemies of Isl?m) while you are having the upper hand. All?h is with you, and He will never decrease the reward of your good deeds.
The best and the famous interpreters or the best one in Arabic will agree with me without doubt, without even read it. because we know that the negation goes for both as a condition and an order.
so Good luck .

Where is the object of the verb in the sentence which you have imported from somewhere in the parenthesis? If it is not here in the verse is it anywhere available in the Qur'aan?
And I have known that you have no idea as to what the verb is in the verse, just wrangling on the pretext of English and Arabic while you twice said contradictory statements about it. Whether it is or ? And I hope you understand that both have different connotations and will thus effect the translation of the verse. Decide what is the verb.

I didn't improrted it, I just told you that this is the subject in the parenthesis to understand that the war is between Muslims and the ennemies of Islam, so there must be no period of peace suggested by Muslims because they are in a strong position, and God is with them.
And I have known that you have no idea as to what the verb is in the verse, just wrangling on the pretext of English and Arabic while you twice said contradictory statements about it.
Ahha, so you know better than me in Arabic because you have studied it a couple of years and then you became a Master in it!!!!!!!!!!, is that what you mean?
Whether it is or ? And I hope you understand that both have different connotations and will thus effect the translation of the verse. Decide what is the verb.
it takes both of them and the translation will stay the same, the real important thing is not the verb itself , it's the negation .
did you understand this
, , , .
did I say that the verse changed its meaning because of the both situation ? ? No

about trying to make you understand from an english view, I think I've said I think . Because Arabic can not be learned by english view. because an Arabic there is no passive verb and there is no active verb .

I have been telling you that on this forum you are acting and posing yourself as an Arab while the fact is that you are not an Arab. And I have been trying to indicate it to you, now let me tell you that you are additional a Kazib also.
You have cut the sentence from Tafseer Tabri and pasted and call it your personal verdict.

Don't call someone Lair without knowing him, anyways I'll not blame you because of your ignorance .
by the way it is not "Kazib" with "z" and "i" it is "Katheb" with "th" and "e" . because the letter is "" not "" .
You have cut the sentence from Tafseer Tabri and pasted and call it your personal verdict.

It is available on line also, seeI said before the same thing but you asked about substandiated what I said, so I brought to you this sentence to translate it and to understand it, I said to you the same thing before but you didn't believe me asking for a proof for what I said about the negation in the verb. And if you read my post, I didn't say that this is my sentence or my personnal
ok let's say that I copied it and pasted it, is that mean that I can not write the same sentence ? in fact I can write more details about that and I think I already did .
You be at your deen, I am on my Deen.
well, the most shocking thing for you is that I'm in my Deen, but I'm not sure for you.

peace,
The logic of the sign suggests the word for "silm" is "peace", because it would not be a weakness to call for "submission/surrender".
The only other time the exact same derivative ("silm" occurs is in 861, according to PRL.
Wakas
Thanks JM, and Wakas many thanks. For many days I was stuck up having reached this verse 4735, and 861 did not come to mind for the linkage of the verse and its plain understanding. Tabri had mentioned this but I just overlooked since he was talking with reference to abrogation and did not go back to see 861. If we put them together, everything is simple and straight forward without an iota of confusion or ambiguity.

and continue having trust in Allah.Something can hinder in accepting offer of peace while you are in superior and powerful position to give enemy an annihiliatory blow, and powerful group can make it an excuse, and that is it

And if they intend that they deceive you, the Messenger then in that case indeed Allah suffices for you.Chapter8
Therefore you people should not slacken and be easy-going, and you may incline towards peace while you people are in superior/dominating position.

ia Verb Imperfect; second person; plural; masculine; SUBJUNCTIVE mood. This indicates desire,
The Root is " ",basic meanings are to incline someone towards oneself by sound or words. And inclination is relating to what? towards peace .
When one is in dominating position, psychologically it becomes difficult to accede to the request of weaker party, therefore, one has to incline oneself to accept the request.
