Salaam, I used to go every friday, like a good muslim. As I was only working part-time at the time I would sometimes go on other days to pray. Most of the brothers were nice and genuine and helped me learn The Opening in arabic and about prayer etc but a few asked me many questions about my personal life and what I was doing to change my 'western' way of life to an islamic one. A brother in particular took an interest in me and wanted me to always stay after prayer and be a part of his study group. When I couldnt attend he made me feel guilty saying thing like 'Allah wont be pleased with you'. He told me he was from Saudi Arabia but I don't think he was fully arab, he looked african to me. Also a group from London visited our local Mosque and one broher, a white revert befriended me but I was put off by his slander about the jews. They wanted me to go back to London with them but to be honest I was scared as I felt their intentions were not legit. I was only in my early 20's. I didnt go back after meeting them for fear of bumping into them. Because I stopped attending the Mosque I'd see brothers in the street and they would ignore me so I thought if this is islam I dont want to be a part of it so I stopped practicing but always had the belief in God. I have only recently 'got back into islam' through visiting this site and have began to pray and read Qur'an.

Alhamdulillah this site has helped you back.

I know what you mean about the pressure though, it gets scary because as a newbie you think they know better, and Islam becomes something other than what you converted for or based on. Not surprising many leave Islam or become discouraged with it

the hypocricy is also something that got to me too. You have to follow this 'group' or we dont want you kind of thing. No help if you need any if you dont join our 'gang' etc.

These people will have to answer to Allah one day and only then will they be humbled for the terrible things they do.

                          Salaam,
Basically I came to GOD Alone through having a debate, or rather an argument, with a guy on facebook who accused me of not being a 'proper' muslim due to my 'un-islamic' appearance in my profile pic. Sad I know.
Anyway, it got me thinking about certain details so I did a search on the net to see what was actually in The Qur'an and if what this guy was saying is true.
Lo and behold he was quoting The Prophet Muhammeds (Peace be upon him) hadith which I knew about when I reverted to islam as a sunni.
I was a practising sunni for a while but strayed away from islam due to alot of pressure put upon me from my sunni brothers who basically wanted me to live (except sleeping, lol) in my local Mosque & an uncomfortable meeting with some sunni extremists.
I guess, like most muslims here, I feel that The Qur'an is enough to live by God's commands & I can't say I fully trust Muhammeds hadith due to how they came about and when they were compiled and who put them together and gave their authority, because Allah never said He did!
I'm fairly new to this site and will always be seeking the truth.
There are some nice people here and it's the best site I've found promoting God alone.
                          Peace all.

The only bastard is you. These are Shi'a not Sunnah . We don't stone anyone, we advice first then if the person doesn't accept the advice and makes the same sin , the judge or the parents of the person will decide the punishment.

and by the way who told that this photo is right, I've watched a people who are satan worshippers and they stoned a girl and telling the word that those persons are Muslims. get your facts and stop insulting people. Insult is easy.

I do recall Isa being quoted as saying, "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone" and "Judge not and you will not be judged".

I don't see how these words from the canonical gospels could possibly be taken for a mistranslation.
If so, then what? The Dead Sea Scrolls? Now we are all witches to be dunked in the basin, to see if we float?

Or just line us up and burn us....

There is, essentially, no difference in the mindset.
Al Lah is no more compassionate than this?!

                                  How dare we...

                                  Excuse me, please.
                                  Wasalaam.

Really!!! ok bring to me and prove that and show me where and bring statistics about people stoned to death in sunni countries . Even the shi'a don't stone poeple today . The only persons that stone people are the worshippers of Satan and the persons that are still in the religion of Majouseya and they are living in Iraq and Iran. this lie will cost you a lot , you have accused people (1.5 billion + the other sects) , so begin counting your worst.
