    Thank you jack peace

sorry for using Ali, I am so used to using it )
    006.050
YUSUFALI Say "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not?

    027.065
YUSUFALI Say None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).

    007.188
YUSUFALI Say "I have no power over any good or harm to myself except as Allah willeth. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I should have multiplied all good, and no evil should have touched me I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings to those who have faith."

2530 Then the Messenger will say "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense."

The first 3 are Allah telling Muhammed what to say to the people regarding things his people were thinking and saying about him, which wasnt true and here Allah is telling him HOW to make that clear to them that he cant see the future. Allah tells him what 'verse' to say to dispell the rumours.

The last verse is Allah saying what Muhammed WILL say about his people deserting Quran and following 'conjecture' or other words besides Allah's. The verses in 25 are a few verses with a big warning what will happen IF they carry on following something else.

So Allah knew (of course!) that this will happen and that just like man did before even though you WARN him as much as you possibly can, he will STILL go astray.

I understand that Allah knows what will happen in the future and what the prophet will say, but I still don't understand how the prophet (pbuh) will say his people have deserted this Qu'ran if he does not know the future and was able to see his people deserting the Qu'ran in the future till the end times?

"And the messenger said 'My Lord, my people have deserted this Quran.'" 2530

That is what the site's translation says.

          Quran means "recitation".
It can't possibly mean the book because it wasn't written yet.

This what a scribe is quoting him as saying.

We don't know the exact schedule of events on that day but we are given many verses from which we can get a better picture and maybe even some chronology. Searching for these verses, we see that some people can and will speak, records will be given, we will be able to tell who made it and who didn't etc. Perhaps then, given many who didn't make it from a particular group, and from what they say etc it will be obvious that they deserted the quran and it's message to land in God's black books? It's like a teacher looking at the final dismal scores posted for the term and saying to the class, you fools, why did you not study your books.

              If you go with...
Then the Messenger will say "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense."

It is also conditional... or can be.
It is a way to speak in English that isn't necessarily a prediction.

This is why English is difficult for some people.
Because the same word can have several meanings that seem to not be in sync.

Ok there is a verse in which the prophet (pbuh) says he cannot predict the future, as if he could he would have made himself a rich man.

And there is a verse which says on judgement day, the prophet (pbuh) will complain that his people deserted the Qu'ran. Why is this second verse not a contradiction of the verse in which he says he cannot see the future?

                Salaam Dear AK85,

The verse 2530 informs us of the events of the Last Day, in which the Prophet(pbuh) will complain about his people who had deserted The Qru?aan during their life of this world. Here GOD is speaking, not Muhammad. GOD is the one who knows all about the future events including the events of the LAST DAY. The Prophet himself had no clue at all, untill this verse was revealed. To understand it better just go back a few verses. Insha?Allah you find the correct answer to it.

                Peace,
                Khalil

you know, kind of like remarking on the obvious, like when you see a guard dog barking viciously at someone it doesn't recognize and you say "Wow, he ain't too friendly eh" remarking on the obvious which you are observing

Yeah, I think that last sentence of yours is where I'm coming from as well, remarking on the obvious after observing it. I'm glad you guys helped me understand )

It is all about the recitation. When we communicate with each other, words convey only a small part of "the message". Our brains deduce the "message" by doing some complex decomposition of the sound input then analysing it for patterns. With words, one can convey definite unambiguous meaning (dense scientific literature is the best example) but most of us don't haven't developed our skills to that level and it does take the excitement out of speech.

So we rely on removing the ambiguity by tuning into how the words are recited. Suppose you are your brain and you hear a sentence, you decompose the analog signal into definite words and you can imagine that it colours in parts of the signal where there are "words". As long as those coloured in shapes are present in the signal then those words will be heard irrespective of the accent. The next part of deducing the meaning is decomposing the accents, the individual syllables, etc, correlating it with previously stored patterns, blah blah blah, until we get to "the message", a clear waveform in the brain which is identical to the waveform that originated in the brain of the other person.

As such, there is profound wisdom in why the quran is not merely a book, but a recitation.
