Even Sinai sounds like Sana From yemen, what about Pau who went to arabia and spent 3 years learning over there, and most people here say arabic started to be written in the centurey of Mohamed, so he went south to arabia to learn from the jews after all, at least that's how it sounds
Never heard of Pau.
Arabic was written much earlier than the century of Muhammed. "The Nabataeans, which established a kingdom in what is modern-day Jordan from the 2nd century BCE, were Arabs. They wrote with a highly cursive Aramaic-derived alphabet that would eventually evolve into the Arabic alphabet. The Nabataeans endured until the year 106 CE, when they were conquered by the Romans, but Nabataean inscriptions continue to appear until the 4th century CE, coinciding with the first inscriptions in the Arabic alphabet (which is also found in Jordan). "Many hebrew words sound similar to Arabic anyway.
I understand you appear to be confused loxbox, but it is not clear about what you are confused. You seem to be looking for Islam to be a stand alone thing without anything to do with jews but that is not how it is.
-
Not Aisha i don't think of islam as a stand alone from jews, because the quran stated all about jews prophets etc.... plus islam is universal, that's not the point, i remember it always bothered me the weird names in the old testament, eliphim, eryphim, baiphim ...phi etc, maybe it was only the language, but still, i was young i use to laugh inside, honestly, i'm not making fun og them though, but still, i feel these are all fabricated names, sometimes when i read religious books i feeel like i'm reading lord of the rings or something, that's why i felt this way, i guess the truth of history willl never be known in it's real events, we have to look forward but we like to learn, what about the life of prophet Mohamed, his biography ? you think it's good to dig in to find his biography? he was a great man after all and a messenger of god, there was one song about him and i loved it the first time i heard it, u never heard a song about prophet mohamed?? i remember it goes tala badrou aliiena

Yes I know the song, it's supposed to be what was sung by the people of Madina when the prophet arrived there from Mecca. Nice song
The names in the OT will sound odd depending where you're from though just as the names in hadith sound odd to me as I am English. Its a very different place and time, just as the majority of the names of ancient Egypt are strange and hard to pronounce.

Firstly, I cannot find anywhere in Quran where it actually says Ishmael was the son Abraham was going to sacrifice!
Please consult
37100-112 alongwith 2172 and about the timing of birth of second son also see 1169 onwards. For first son description is Haleem and for second son description is Aleem in 1552-53/5124-25.

i did look at these verses.
There is nothing in 37100-112 that specifies this was Ishmael who was to be sacrificed and just because in 37.112 it says Abraham was given Isaac doesnt mean that this happened AFTER the sacrifice.21.72 is nothing to do with timing of sons, this says God gave Abraham Isaac and Jacob, Jacob was Abrahams grandson and Isaacs son.
11.69 onwards is also to do with the son Isaac born to a barren woman and that son having Jacob, Abrahams grandson,

The news of this son was given/communicated by those who had come to execute the punishment upon nation of Lut alahissalam. Does it not show he was born after the execution of punishment upon that nation?
First son is granted in response to demand/prayer. The other son is granted as an unsolicited gift. Does it not show the sequence of births?

The news of this son was Isaac. Ishmael was already born. The sacrifice was after the punishment on Sodom.

There was no prayer for the first son Ishmael, the prayer was for the son from Sarah. Why would Allah grant a gift of a son for not killing a son? It does not take away the fact that what you saw as son 1 and son 2 was actually son then grandson.
In the words of Arnie, I will be back. peace

Thanks you agreed on this point, and correctly interpreted conjunction "waw" indicating sequence.

Peace Mazhar,
Sorry, I don't read Urdu.
Your deduction (her being a second wife) from this verse is far-fetched. She might have had childrens when she was young; but now, she is surprised to be able to have another child at very old age, as any woman would be at such age. No need to go into such speculations.
Also, if I follow your reasoning, why did you choose that she is a second wife? maybe a third, a fourth or a tenth wife?

Is it something near-fetched while being second wife is a far-fetched deduction??? You also did not care for "barren".
Qur'aan quotes about his thanks for grant of two sons only. Deduction can be made only from available information not from presumptions.

I don't know their names, and by second I did not mean with reference to sequence of marriage since I don't know whether he married mother of Ismail alahissalam first or that of Ishaq alahissalam first. The point was to differentiate between two wives each of whom got a child at different points in time according to information given in Qur'aan.

Just because the verse comes after doesn't mean this happened after. You read that before that he was given son Isaac then second son Jacob when Jacob is the son of Isaac.Strange logic.
You agree "The news of this son was Isaac. Ishmael was already born". Despite that you suggest "the sacrifice was Isaac".
Read carefully the sequence of events. First good news, a son is born in response to prayer, he grows, an episode takes place and then again is mention of "good news" of Ishaq alahissalam. Despite such plain information, I fail to understand what makes you to think sacrifice episode is with Ishaq alahissalam.

I know the sequence it says in Quran, what I am saying is that this does not say these things happened IN that sequence. 51.47-49 talks of creating the heaven and earth so you can't tell me all that was after Abraham and Isaac but it is after those verses.
Ishmael was a teen when Isaac was born, Isaac was born after Sodom was destroyed and the sacrifice was after that. Abraham had another 6 sons after Isaac and after sarah died too.
And you should know the names of Abrahams wives Mazhar. Isaacs wife rebecca was also barren and had twin sons.

What is the source? Hadith of Bukhari or hadithists of Jews and Christians?
Qur'aan was sent after a long time of the death of Ibrahim alahissalam. And Allah tells about him
