The news of this son was Isaac. Ishmael was already born.
Thanks you agreed on this point, and correctly interpreted conjunction "waw" indicating sequence.
There was no prayer for the first son Ishmael, the prayer was for the son from Sarah.

Peace Mazhar,
How do you know from al-quran that Ibrahim had 2 wifes?

Two sons from two wives-in Urdu
Can a woman who had earlier a son say this,

Peace Mazhar,
Sorry, I don't read Urdu.
Your deduction (her being a second wife) from this verse is far-fetched. She might have had childrens when she was young; but now, she is surprised to be able to have another child at very old age, as any woman would be at such age. No need to go into such speculations.
Also, if I follow your reasoning, why did you choose that she is a second wife? maybe a third, a fourth or a tenth wife?

Is it something near-fetched while being second wife is a far-fetched deduction??? You also did not care for "barren".
Qur'aan quotes about his thanks for grant of two sons only. Deduction can be made only from available information not from presumptions.

Just because the verse comes after doesn't mean this happened after. You read that before that he was given son Isaac then second son Jacob when Jacob is the son of Isaac.

Sarah was the first wife but she bore the second son
I don't know their names, and by second I did not mean with reference to sequence of marriage since I don't know whether he married mother of Ismail alahissalam first or that of Ishaq alahissalam first. The point was to differentiate between two wives each of whom got a child at different points in time according to information given in Qur'aan.

Just because the verse comes after doesn't mean this happened after. You read that before that he was given son Isaac then second son Jacob when Jacob is the son of Isaac.Strange logic.
You agree "The news of this son was Isaac. Ishmael was already born". Despite that you suggest "the sacrifice was Isaac".
Read carefully the sequence of events. First good news, a son is born in response to prayer, he grows, an episode takes place and then again is mention of "good news" of Ishaq alahissalam. Despite such plain information, I fail to understand what makes you to think sacrifice episode is with Ishaq alahissalam.

I know the sequence it says in Quran, what I am saying is that this does not say these things happened IN that sequence. 51.47-49 talks of creating the heaven and earth so you can't tell me all that was after Abraham and Isaac but it is after those verses.
Ishmael was a teen when Isaac was born, Isaac was born after Sodom was destroyed and the sacrifice was after that. Abraham had another 6 sons after Isaac and after sarah died too.
And you should know the names of Abrahams wives Mazhar. Isaacs wife rebecca was also barren and had twin sons.

What is the source? Hadith of Bukhari or hadithists of Jews and Christians?
Qur'aan was sent after a long time of the death of Ibrahim alahissalam. And Allah tells about him

Torah, the one Allah tells you He sent.Qur'aan was sent after a long time of the death of Ibrahim alahissalam. And Allah tells about him

"The Infinite Glory and Praise eternally is entirely and exclusively for Allah, the One Who has granted me in old age Iesma'eile and Ies'hauq .yes I know. Still doesn't say it was Ishmael that was going to be sacrificed though. Abraham was 86 when Ishmael was born and 100 when Isaac was born and 175 when he died.
Quran tells you only parts of these prevous stories and refers you to Torah for detail, It is not necessary to KNOW the detail for our salvation as they are examples of the prophets and their belief and how they followed God but if you are going to argue sequence and who is who then you should refer to where the detail is, which is Torah.

Where is Toraat which was sent by Allah? Do you think by writing or giving a caption to any book will entitle it to be called Toraat?
The argument is even weaker than that put forward by Hadith mongers termed sunnis on this forum.
-

And did you care for "old lady" part in that verse?
If you tell an 80 years old grandma that she will have a baby, you can expect to have such a reaction from her.
I don't know if Ibrahim had many wifes, but I know that the 2 wifes story is based only on fairytales.
-

Yet you are convinced we have the Quran as sent by Allah? Allah tells you in that Quran about the Torah and tells you HOW the message was corrupted with their tongues. There are countess references to Torah in Quran and if you read it you may become clearer on some things. The argument is even weaker than that put forward by Hadith mongers termed sunnis on this forum.
As a proud Sunni yourself its odd that you should come out with this when you yourself have obviously used hadith to come up with what you have so far as you have been told this was Ishmael being sacrificed there, as it is not in Quran. The Quran refers you to Torah, it refers you away from hadith and my information is from the Book Allah said He sent, not the hadith that have twisted the whole thing (Quran)with thier tongues.

In the same way as if you told a virgin who had never been with a man she would have a child without ever having to be with a man.I don't know if Ibrahim had many wifes, but I know that the 2 wifes story is based only on fairytales.
Torah is a fairy tale?

You have now started bluffing. I quoted you the Aayat of Qur'aan talking in sequence about two different sons. The first son was asked about sacrifice, and you admitted the first son was Ismail alahissalam. And about sequence you brought a funny argument of mention of Skies and Earth after the episode.
What was sent in Torah is now nowhere except embodied in Qur'aan. Jews were asked during the period of revelation of Qur'an to bring Toraat, they never brought it, and I don't know from where have you got it now.
