you did not tell us what you have planned to do apart from the vague "to focus totally on my dreams".

my guess (pardon me please) is you have planned for a solitude ("I will be gone for a long period of time. I might be gone for 1 year, 2 years or perhaps even more.&quot, no matter how much demanding the word "gone" is on the imagination.

in our experience, we need such a phase in life, i.e. a break to take a look at what we were just now, to evaluate and reform ourselves as and when necessary. we couldn't agree with you more when you said "I have to make some big changes in my life if I want to succeed."

our practice must conform with the theories we hold to be the truth. both must walk hand-in-hand. and whatever we are today is the 'akhirat'/end of what our theories and routines were. if we were not happy with what we were just now, then we need to have a tweak in the theories and a change of routines before we could even dream of a change of future.

routine (darr) is the instrument of change, the one without which no alteration happens. so nothing will improve without a reform of ways (AAamila salihan). oftentimes, a break of routines (diyar) is required. otherwise we remain the person of yesterday.

therefore we are more than happy (with a tinge of jealousy though) for your brave decision. our prayers are always with you indeed, and may God guide you on the correct path, insha-Allah.

I have changed my mind. I decided to come back to the forum. I realized that my dreams were too impractical, so I can not achieve them yet. I have to wait until the future. Because then, I will hopefully have more time and recources to achieve them. But I have not given up. I am just taking a break from idealism.

Ohh, by the way. Even dough I didn't achieve any of my dreams, I achieved one of my goals. I got a job that I love. A job that is in alignment with my values, my abilities and my interests.

I have missed this forum. And I am glad to be back.
