Does anyone know where I can find a Suni?

The thing that gets under my skin is the statement that crops up time and time again on the sunni forums
"science of the hadith
Are they for real? Apparently a body of contradictory laws and an amalgam of personal stories that were collated centuries after the event and passed on through chains of people is science apparently.
It's interesting. After CERN posted their findings on the neutrino being faster than the speed of light, they had their results tested agin and again, and then tested once more by peer review. THAT is science.
I know it's different and the analogy is tenuous, but there is a point there. Science is not Oh yeah, that dude said this and he heard it from that other dude and I know that guy, he's chill, so I'm pretty sure it's all good.
Have you guys heard of the "story" that sunni's tell when asked about the "science of hadith"? Bukhari once went to interview a man about a particular hadith. He saw him in the distance wrestling with his horse, who was being stubborn. In order to entice the horse, the man pretended to take an apple from his bag and managed to get the horse to calm down a bit. There was no apple. Bukhari saw this 'lie' and therefore knew that the man was not trustworthy enough to interview. Thus science o (apparently)
(This story was told to me by a classmate who was taking all science subjects and studying to be a doctor. He too, was under the belief that this act was equal to some kind of "science"
Bukhari, not Muhammad, has become the "messenger" to too many people.
End rant.

Ok that thread is doing my head in. brick wall

And CERN's scientists never label anyone who disagree or challenge their findings as KUFFAR!! INFIDEL!! APOSTATE!!
THAT'S SCIENCE!!I know it's different and the analogy is tenuous, but there is a point there. Science is not Oh yeah, that dude said this and he heard it from that other dude and I know that guy, he's chill, so I'm pretty sure it's all good.
Correction It's actually
That dude said he heard it from 'fulan' (May God Bless His Soul) who heard it from another 'fulan' (May God Bless His Soul) who heard it from another 'fulan' (May God Bless His Soul) who heard it from another 'fulan' (May God Bless His Soul) that one of Mohammad (May God Bless His Soul)'s companion named 'fulan' (May God Bless His Soul) said...I'm amazed how does Bukhari mantain the integrity of narration to (so many) dead people.

You should ask your classmate regarding the chain of narration of that hadith about the one who collected the hadith.Bukhari, not Muhammad, has become the "messenger" to too many people.
We don't know for sure whether it's actually Bukhari who wrote all that junk..
We even don't know whether the 'hadith' as we have today is the same 'hadith' within the lifetime of Bukhari.
Who knows along the way some 'creative' scholars injected their own ideas into the hadith and claim it with Bukhari name.Salam / Peace

The question that comes up again and again (and on the sunni forum that is heating up now) is that soooo many scholars have come to the conclusion about the hadiths legitimacy. How can so many scholars be wrong?
To be honest, this baffles me too. How can so many people not have seen the most obvious thing. (occams razor).

I think they are getting alarmed because so many of us are causing lots of dameges to their arrguments. Thank you to everyone supporting this effort.
Trust me, every thing we post in their website are read by others whom God wants to guide.Belh I'm meant to be doing my work! I have an assignment tomorrow and it's 2am! haha, I just have to keep checking that forum. Looks like we can't post though, they're getting suspicious about the number of new members.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"however there is a difference in opinion in this regard. speak to a scholar in you area. but Nabi SAWS did curse the one who plucks."Advise them to be consistent with their doctrine
Advise them to release a bundled book containing "Quran + Shahih Hadiths" and name it "Yet Another New Testament" or "New Testament 2.0". And proclaim to all of the member of their sect (release a new 'fatwa ulema' that all 'believers' must believe in all of things written in this book otherwise they are not "Muslim" and shall be burned in hell for all eternity.
I bet at least 98% of this 'bundled book' contain explanations of 'petty stuff' and 'things which doesn't matter'.
PS If you want to have 'fun', ask them how to properly do the 'attahiyat', is it with index finger straight and hold it firm? or we can 'rotate' our index finger as thus making a circle? Or perhaps we can also use our 'middle finger' or 'pinky' instead? This kind of thing might trigger a 'hot debate' between them.

haha how about this gem that I was just replied with
"As for your question, you are ignorant of how the hadeeth were preserved- ignorant of the glorious memory of the Arabs, ignorant all the way through- indeed, your compound ignorance is quite disconcerting."
The glorious memory...over two+ centuries. Over many generations. Over the very minutiae of personal life.
I do not think it is possible to get through to people so entrenched in their views. However, like belh said, we can hope to at least open the minds of some people stalking the forums who are on the fence.
Jafar, I don't think I could ask them that question, it might get too heated!

That, is why mind trick is an interesting method, when all methods fail. Mind trick is like a gun, use either for Evil or Good.
Don't loose hope, Allah is all Knowing.

Salaam Brother BelH,
In this thread you are defending the killing rule from Quran perspective.
http//www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?79213-Why-do-you-believe-in-hadith/page19You made a good point but I just want to say that you didn?t have to look that far.
Please read chapter 9 carefully, it?s from the beginning all ready understood to who this chapter is referring but I think that verse 913 is very clear to who this ?killing rule? is referring.913
Pickthall Will ye not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first? What! Fear ye them? Now Allah hath more right that ye should fear Him, if ye are believers -
By the way, anyone who is watching this thread, it would be good (if you have time) to post on here some refutations to any of the sunni posts that you believe are, in particular, infringing upon logic/the Qur'an/whatever.
However, I don't think they will be listening to us for much longer I'm afraid.
Thanks,
Ty

"When a foolish person speaks, do not reply to him, for better than responding to him is to remain silent. If you speak to him, you have assisted him, but if you ignore him, he dies out of extreme grief." Imam Al-Shaafi'i (rahimahullah)
rotfl
What happens when they are the ones who are foolish. That is a nice statement to keep a person close-minded and brainwashed.

Their replies are simply questions posed to our own question. They have not answered anything yet. However, I can't think of anything that will stump them. Any ideas?

I used to be on that forum, long ago. But, they don't like women much who question. I was not a favorite. I was told it is not my right to be jealous of men having more than one wife.. and I would ENJOY seeing my husband so satisfied sexually in heaven. uggg.. pigs.
I asked once, what is the science of scholarship? Who says so and so is a scholar? I was fed so much BS.
I need to find the hadith, But ask them why Bukari refused to get hadiths from the man who tricked his horse. But accepts Abu Hurarah when he ADMITS in a hadith he would lie about his memorization of QURAN to get a free meal from the Sahaba..... Wow.. an honest liar.. maybe thats is why......lol
Ask them why do muslims pray so different. Hands folded, hands not folded? Loud ameen, silent ameem. Blood negates wudo, blood does not. How can we follow texts that divide so many. Ask them.. WHAT SCHOOL OF THOUGHT/ MADHAB WAS PROPHET MUHAMMAD? You will start a war between them..lol! the Shafi and Hanbali will start bickering.
