      Peace & Greeting Raine peace
It is nice to know that you are searching and looking
God Guides those who persevere in his path (2969)
As a note, everyone is on a path right now, it is either that we're closer to the "straight path"(16), which is the path of God, or far astray (4136).
As a reminder, you will be tested (292), so be on the look out! Persevere, and if it ever gets too challenging, Ask relief from God. Better yet, be safe and Ask before it happens! Pray/Ask for Guidance, Wisdom, understanding, etc. If you do not understand/unsure about something, Ask God to show you the truth. God Assures us that he answers prayers(4060), so be faithful while you're praying, even if it might seem imposible (Abraham & zakariYah begat children while in old age, and their wives infertile, and moses made a crossway into the sea... Yes, With God Everything is possible

This Path is Long and endless, and commitment is Key. Even the most well knowledgable of us, don't know the whole truth, and we are not expected to do so. There are some topics in the Quran which only God Almighty knows their meanings (37), we are advized to follow the best of what was revealed to us from God 3955. Another important thing is Righteous work. If you read the Quran, there is always the notion that "those who believe, AND do good". Thus it is not by faith alone, it is by your works. (*Note Those who get to go to heaven do so because of their WORKS (743)

      And as you mentioned Salat

      Part 2 SALAT

      Salat Positions

In Some matters (as salat and homosexuality), God Almighty does not come out and state explicitly of the commandment, but he does give us example of how people did them. There is no commandment that stipulates that man should not llie down with man in the Quran, just like the Torah stipulates. Nevertheless, we do have an example of Lot's people, who, by their doing (homosexuality), were transgressing. And so, if anyone today is still committing homosexuality, They would logically also be trangressing as per (781)

Similarly, There is no prescribed Step-by-step way of doing the salat in the Quran. nevertheless, we do have example of how people did them.
Now there can actually be 3 positions of Salat

ZakarYAH Standing doing his salat (339)
Believers do their salat while bowing/kneeling (555)
Muhammed Ending his Salat by Prostrating (4102)

Moreover, the sole purpose of Doing the salat is to remember God Almighty (2014), and not the quantity of bowing/kneeling.
Thus, one can conclude that most of the duration of the salat is spend during standing position, and the bowing/kneeling position, and that there has to be 1 prostration, because that is the end of our salat as per 4102.

***For the Bowing/Kneeling position, some translate Rk3 ( ), as bowing, and some translate it as kneeling.
We can get a glimps of this position as David "fell down" and did his rkoo3" in 3824, and also, solomon, "fell down", as the animal ate his staff when he was dead 3414.
***Thus Rk3 (&#1593 has to be come about from a position of high potential (e.g standing), into a position of low potential (e.g bowing/kneeling)

      The Manners of Salat

*We should try to Remember God Almighty as much as possible during Salat, as it is its Sole purpose (2014)
*We should do our salat in a state of Reverance/Devoutness (223
*Good news is anounced to those who do their salat in a humble manner (232),
*We should not do our salat Heedlessly (1054-5), or in a state of intoxication, where we're heedless of what we're saying (443)

How Many daily salats(prayers) are there?

The Quran is not missing anything (63. We find that there are only 3 names of Salats in the Quran, (i.e Fajr, Esha, Wusta (2458 & 223). This means that there has to be only 3 Salats. This is because the Quran states that it is not missing anything (63, and so, if there is 3 NAMES of Salats mentioned, then logically, there has to be only 3 Salats.

The Daily Prayers were always done 3 times a day (Salat = Aramaic 'sloota' (Prayer) and Hebrew Tfillah/Amidah (standing prayer)
Which is basically the 3 daily prayers evening, morning, and noon (see psalm 5517, Daniel 610)
      New Testament's 3 times for prayer 3rth, 6th, and 9th hours,
The Quran's 3 names of Salat (Fajr, Esha, Wusta in 2458 and 223

Three Salat (Prayers) Authorised in the Quran

Support for a middle salat (i.e 3rd salat)
      http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9603015.0

      As a scriptural background

Salat is equivilant of the Aramaic 'sloota' (Prayer) and the Hebrew Tfillah (prayer) or Amidah (standing prayer) Which is basically the 3 daily prayers evening, morning, and noon (see psalm 5517, Daniel 610, and the New Testament's times for prayer 3rth, 6th, and 9th hours, all of which shadow the Quran's 3 names of prayer (Dawn, evening, and middle prayer Quran 2458 and 223
Some Jews and Samaritans today still pray 3 daily prayers
Watch even the "Jewish salat", and you can find the descriptions of the prayer from the Talmud & the laws concerning prayer

Thank you, Youssef, for all this information. It is so much easier to see all these things in one place, rather than trying to root through all the forums and threads sorting it all out (which I've been trying to do for days now ) so this was very helpful!

I am very excited to be on this path and to find this forum.

              Salaam Raine,

you give the impression from your introduction your are in search of a religion, to worship and adore some invented God persona, the foundation of Islam is 'There is NO God', most are at a loss and fail to grasp this simple concept, yet think they follow Islam. Islam is not a religion but a Deen, a way to establish a society and community in this world. At present we all exist in a corporate culture, we have no society and no self professing Muslims are even working towards creating one, but this is the real purpose of Islam, not to pray, worship or adore any invention of a persons imagination.

Salam. Thank you for your input, I agree with some but disagree with some of what you've said. Such is life )

Ultimately I do not seek religion. Religion is a man-made construct. I just seek the straight path and way of life, and I do so with both heart and mind. The latter may come across as seeking "religion", but I am just a cerebral individual, so it is a natural personal derivative on the path of life.

@Kaiokenred Thank you, my dogs are dear to me ) The white one (who is the youngest) broke her leg 5 weeks ago She had surgery to repair it with metal plates, and then a cast for awhile, but now she has no cast and is doing very well D

What you just stated can be very much misunderstood.
The Quran commands us to Worship/Serve/Adore only God Almighty. If you do not want to call the Almighty "God", clal him by any of his well attributions. "God" is i would reckon, his "title" or Occupation. I think the title "King of the universes/Worlds" would fit in a better sense, because His Most Supreme, High Majesty, is the REAL King of the universe. His Supreme Majesty Own All.

(Note how i use the terms God, Almighty, His Most Supreme, High Majesty To refer to the same Being)
"Call Him The God, or call Him The Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names." (Quran 17110)

                      Salaam Youssef,

the foundation of Islam is 'There is NO God.', no deity of any sort, worship is never suggested within the Qur'an it is an invention of religion, faith is likewise not a part of Islam, the Qur'an directs firm belief based upon reasoned conclusion, not blind following of dogma, scholars or other invented experts.

Allah does not mean God, the invention of a God has confused men and created the religion now labelled Islam, in direct opposition to the guidance of the Qur'an, were they live without society or natural law, instead following sovereigns and corrupt leaders, divided into a hundred sects or more.

I stand by my previous post it was not a misrepresentation, but a bitter truth for most; most prefer the sugar of lies, they are easy to swallow.

I understand your viewpoint Abdun but you are stuck in the matrix of semantics in my opinion. Your logic is Allah is NOT God. This may very well be but you have to define God first. You are only correct from a relative point of view because NOT everyone has the same definition of God as a guy in the sky with a white beard. As well as not everyone has the same definition of Allah because Christian Arabs claim Allah to be part of the Trinity. So that type of Allah does NOT exist of course.

You see the problem lies in CONCEPT of a word not the actual word which you are concentrating on.

So I will quote from Quran which youseff4342 has and whilst I agree with your other viewpoints I can't share the notion of No God when many believe in A GOD which resonates with the attributes of THE GOD described in the Quran which is the only God or Allah whichever you prefer. Don't get too caught up in a word brother handshake

Oh and most importantly welcome Raine. Hope to hear your viewpoints on quranic verses. Remember no one can walk you down the path except God so take others points as viewpoints but cross reference from the Quran and empower the values into your daily lives and watch your life change for the better.

Falsehood in every form enslaves you whereas the truth always sets you free. God says in the quran we all are born with a natural inclination towards God....use that inner compass to guide you and the quran as a map to navigate through this life....and of course too the people around you who you connect with as travelllers on the same journey that may help you or even misguide you.

                          PEACE

Irrespective of what he defines God as not everyone defines God as that so like I said he is only relatively correct. But I personally don't see a contradiction in "that which is invoked" i.e God to Allah.

                                  Salaam Prince,

the concept of a God, is an outside force, so this requires worship, adoration, and external communication of prayer and praise.

The physical universe does not function this way.

Can you invoke the power of the Creator through prayer, no, the Christians have tried repeatedly to prove prayer has power but it does not, frequencies of conceptual thought have power and frequencies of sound have power, but not pleading to an outside force.

Allah if you wish to use this term has a different concept, physics shows that all reality is manifest from the inside out, and every atom if you wish to think of the physical in that form, is re-invented instant to instant, without that constant re-manifestation nothing would remain.

All reality is frequencies of thought, known commonly as energy, it is this thought that emanates from the single consciousness, not a God, but all that exists, as the single consciousness is the totality of all reality, held in tension with pure nothingness, this means you could never meet your Creator. A simple way to understand it is by considering your own imagination, when you imagine a world of your own invention, you are not within it, yet you are all that sustains it, so the Creator of all reality manifests each of us instant to instant, and is therefore closer than your jugular vein. This means to pray outwardly is of no benefit, as you cannot change yourself from the outside in, only from the inside out. The Creator sees all you see, hears all you hear, feels all you feel, thinks all you think, what benefit would your Creator derive from your worship and adoration to an imaginary figure outside of yourself?

                                    welcome

I live just south of BC, and I'm up there a few times a year to visit in-laws.

                                      Hello Raine,

Did you ever try to be in a being of simple human being who trust in God, believe in Hereafter and eternal justice? Why you insist yourself to convert such things besides just a human being?

                                      Regards.
