Any people here who say there is no such thing as fasting..?

Any people in here who say you dont need to fast? Or the way of fasting is different than the muslims? For example you can drink? Or its just for a number of days?

I think the verse 2187 is clear, we have to abstain from drink, food, sex during siyam.

I'm not sure if anyone has, but I'm sure you can see that Marie and I believe that one is to abstain from drink during siyam. Perhaps there is someone who does believe in what you are trying to find out, but I would seriously doubt it.

It has been made lawful for you during the night of fasting to approach your women sexually. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. God knows that you used to betray your souls so He has accepted your repentance, and forgiven you; now you may approach them and seek what God has written for you and eat and drink until the white thread is distinct from the black thread of dawn; then you shall complete the fast until night; and DO NOT APROACH THEM(SEXUALLY-I PRESUME) while you are devoted in the submissions. These are God?s boundaries, so do not transgress them. It is thus that God makes His revelations clear to the people that they may be righteous

This is the first time I've heard the ayah translated as "until this become as clear to you as...". Is this the correct translation?

I'm no expert there, but what is this translation meant to imply? ? Seems to me that you eat and drink, and once "it" becomes clear to you, you're done... no more eating and drinking! shock

i just don't get this ayat(2187),let me give an example.

you may do driving and read the theory book and gblty gook till the instructer is with you then don't do driving alone.

Does this mean we don't just drive the car alone or all them three things.

I hope someone helps me here ,its so confusing yet so clear to me.

But worth considering 1926 aswell i think.

OK, I'm at peace with the idea that food and drink is prohibited during the fast, from dawn til dusk. But the length is still bothering me. Is it 30 days, 10 days, 3 days?
