Why the importance of believing in One God?

Changed and corrupted versions of Quran are worth nothing sorry
Now you go from "traditionalist translations" to changed and corrupted versions of Quran? Are you saying THE Quran has been changed and corrupted? Below is the Arabic and trasliterated Arabic. Do your OWN study and see for yourself or you can follow Abdun Nur. It's your choice.
Innama ilahukumu Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa wasiAAa kulla shayin AAilman (209
Your god is Allah; whom there is no god but He. His knowledge encompasses all things.Waqala Allahu la tattakhithoo ilahayni ithnayni innama huwa ilahun wahidun faiyyaya fairhabooni (1651)
And Allah said "Do not take-up two gods, there is only One god, so it is Me that you shall reverence."Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu (4384)
And He is the One who is a god in the heaven and a god on earth. And He is the Wise, the Knowledgeable.Inna ilahakum lawahidun (374)
"Your god is indeed One." -

"Your god is indeed One."It's the same. Except that besides translations, the Quran you follow is also CHANGED. That is a 100% fact
Again, repeat the same verses as many times as you want, it won't prove anything when you don't have the right translations.

If your hypothesis is true.. IN arabic that will be Lam-Illah.. (Not Illah, Not God or not made God (verb) )
Really? Then why does nobody else disagree with Allathee Laa Illah ( might have made a small mistake here ) meaning Who is not god?
-
My atheist friend asked me a question.
God in quran emphasize his oneness a lot, so it means that its very important to believe in 'one God' but Why is believing in one God anyhow better then believing in several Gods?
And what does it mean to believe in 'One God' how does one believe in 'One God'?
Shirk is a mockery. Just look at some of the pagan religions and their mythology and theology. Their stories about the gods and creation. Just read some of the creation stories.

If youre referring to creation stories from other deities - some of those creation stories are, how can I put it politely, very explicit!

And where is that stated in the Quran?
Uh? Like a lot of times? Have you even read an article to full on servantofthelight?

I think what you're saying here is The thing which called "Allah" in the Quran is not a DEITY..
If that's the case, the Taoist / Buddhist and many eastern cultures have similar view..
They view "The Supreme Force of all universe" as "a power", "an energy", "a force"..
In which Lao Tse said, 'it has no name, as name itself is created yet for the sake of discussion let's name It TAO".Salam / Peace

Yeah a correct translation would also be " who is not a deity for worship and adoration "

ad?o?ra?tion
noun
1.
the act of paying honor, as to a divine being; worship.
2.
reverent homage.
3.
fervent and devoted love.So you say the Quran teaches to NOT pay honor to God, to NOT worship Him in any way shape or form, to NOT be reverent of God, and to NOT love God? o

Yep, because the Quran makes it clear god does not exist.

In this day and age many profess atheism, yet still feel compelled to yield to the powers that be, much the same as believers submit to God. It is for our own benefit that we do not consider anyone as God?s equal, and it?s also important to first understand God ?s powers, and the feeling of security which comes with the realisation that none but God has power over you; that none can harm us, except by the will of Allah.
Many, with power and authority strive to take over as gods, they behave as if they possessed the capacity to change man?s destiny, and people are often ?shocked and awed?, by their demonstration of might, thus end up in submission to them. For our own sense of worth it is vital to always remember that, no matter how sofisticated the survallaince techniques used by the governments or their agents, may be and no matter how hard they try to make you subservient, none, except Allah, can determine your fate.
3929 Allah puts forth a Parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other, and a man belonging entirely to one master are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah. but most of them have no knowledge.

This is all a piccadilly play on the external level of words and semantics... while we should focus on the deeper level of meaning, ideas and concepts.
Let's face it that many of us won't agree on the meanings of the words 'worship', 'pray' and 'God'.
It is becoming a brickwall ... some on one side, some on the other...Cheers and peace laugh

In my earlier post I discussed what you consider; the deeper level of meaning, ideas and concepts. so pls read that post rather then the one above which I wrote in response to a young member of this fourm.

angel
You are right as Allah is the God, the master, the creator and lot more, beyond our comprehension.
SalaamNo Allah is not a god at all. Not "the God". NOT GOD.
