    Salaam Blue,

The reason why the disbelievers are often mentioned, probably exclusively, is because these are the ones trying to crush the muslimeen. War is an aggression, but a healthy aggression is called for, i.e. self-defense .

Also, check out Layth's post about war in a modern day situation.

      Peace be upon you,

In addition, there is also a battle going on in the MIND, malaika vs. shyateen, which is SYMBOLIC for righteous thoughts vs unrighteous thoughts.

        Peace,

Shaitanic is the knowledge of the 'super educated' and thus faraway from righteousness. Such infidels are proud to use their knowledge over Allah's Wsidom; they observe not patience. We must observe from Quran that all good comes from Allah ie., from His wisdom; and all bad we earn is from use of our knowledge. If you have distinction in separating good from bad and then your wish ' you want to enjoy good alone', then use not your acquired intelligence, for, it has no wisdom in it but pride; thus it is satanic.

So whatelse to do ? Entrust all your affairs with Allah, for He is the Knower of all things; Observe patience until such time the period destined for your wish arrives to an end, for every thing there is term fixed. Our knowledge does not know the term fixed for each of our wishes. We simply set out heavily believing in our knowledge, ignoring the need to observe Patience until Allah's Gace starts working in our favour. In such process we meet up with huge losses and still worse, we are put to severe tests.

Do not put to use your worldly knowledge to accomplish Allah's Wisdom ie., a wish sent down upon your heart by Allah, for the knowledge is devoid of Wisdom. Thus satanic! If you still use your intelligence you are an inifdel.

                Knowledge or WISDOM ?
Knowledge is what you acquire for living this worldly life
WISDOM is what we receive as Wahi from HIM for both the lives here and hereafter. Or seek from those who are endowed with Wisdom as Prophet Musa followed the learned man on the sea shore as he set out to witness the meeting of the two seas.

                  Peace be upon you,

                  Knowledge or WISDOM ?

                  Both

Knowledge is what you acquire for living this worldly life
WISDOM is what we receive as Wahi from HIM for both the lives here and hereafter. Or seek from those who are endowed with Wisdom as Prophet Musa followed the learned man on the sea shore as he set out to witness the meeting of the two seas.

We need both, knowledge is what leads you to wisdom. We have our senses of sight, hearing, etc in order to gather worldly knowledge, or should I say, knowledge of the SEEN world. By studying the physical world, we begin to recognize the DIVINE LAWS that are unchangeable, and we carry this knowledge into WISDOM, which lets us know that "on earth as it is in heaven" or "as above so below" or "In horizons to withn your minds", so we can ascertain parts of the UNSEEN by looking at the SEEN.

Look at the alphabet/numbers, they are just PHYSICAL symbols representing an abstract subject. Who can point to a "seven"? No one, you can only point to the symbnol of seven "7". So we use the knowledge as a foundation for Wisdom.

I hope I have explained that well enough.

Brother, please continue, when I said "explained well enough", my intended meaning was that I hope I was clear so you could understand my position, not that I was done discussing it. Please continue, I am very happy with debating towards truth. This is the only way that I have found to TEST understandings. Please continue respected brother.

                        Peace idolfree,
I am sorry I have terribly misunderstood
May Allah save us from the mischief of shaitan!

Both. We need both, knowledge is what leads you to wisdom. We have our senses of sight, hearing, etc in order to gather worldly knowledge, or should I say, knowledge of the SEEN world.

Knowledge is Perishable; Wisdom is Cherishable

Allah says the world is a material excellence from Him bound to be destroyed at the appointed time. The worldly knowledge is of the same status hearing is hallucination; vision is illusion; learning is delusion. All material subjects are bound to eclipse one day. Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and everything inbetween in vain but to see Allah's Signs ( ayats, wisdom, quran ) there in. Get into the life of seeing the invisible, the only way to believe and strengthen our iman in Allah and His Way. "How many a Sign in the heavens and on the earth! Lo! They go past by it while seeing it!" is Allah's lament. They have eyes; but they do not pore over! They have ears; yet they do not listen! They have heart; yet not they comprehend! Our special senses shall have to be put into use for special purpose of transcending. But unfortunately we lie low with the material knowledge struggling ourselves with the people of instincts ie., equating ourselves with animals - like the leaders of the world over barking, biting and bombing - which also use the 5 senses, the self-defeating material knowledge of destruction.

Knowledge and WISDOM are worlds apart!

                            Salaam,

I understand wisdom to be a working understanding of the known, i.e. it is knowledge to know the benefits of working your crops in a certain way (share cropping) or cultural mores. Knowledge on the other hand is a combination of intellegence, wisdom, and creativity.

                              Peace be upon you Doc,

I had to read over again what you were stating.

I need to ask you a question, are you saying that we should not seek knowledge at all, only wisdom?

My understanding is that knowledge is that which we get from outside, wisdom is that which we get from inside (the divinity that was blown into us). I think knowledge is what AWAKENS the wisdom within. That is why we are here on this material earth, to go through the phase of collecting knowledge so that Wisdom can awaken and we can bring "heaven on earth".

                                brother idolfree,

You are very close to perfectness in understanding between Wisdom, the supreme inner force and the knowledge, the downtrodden gutter.

                                You Wrote

My understanding is that knowledge is that which we get from outside, wisdom is that which we get from inside (the divinity that was blown into us). - Alhamdulillah

I think knowledge is what AWAKENS the wisdom within. - idolfree

Once the wisdom is awakened, the knowledge is bound to wane into oblivion. Please think in the following sense only when we meet with a dead end that our knowledge leads us to finally, - our Wisdom of Faith in the UNSEEN opens up in our mind, pleading if a miracle should save us! Is it not that when our worldly knowledge convulses and makes us crest fallen, Wisdom of faith brings up Hope in us, that gives New Life? Knowledge is deathward! Knowldge shows us the way only to a certain level as far the distance eyes could travel through. From then on only the vision, the wisdom alone could carry you further beyond any infinity, through transcending, the only and grand need of the future, that sweeps the barriers of worldly knowledge having all the ingredients of evil directions i.e., the fateful directions of pride

And as for those who have no Wisdom, - their knowledge is like the mirage in a desert, which the thirsty man deems to be water; until when he comes to it he finds it to be naught, and there he seeks his need for Wisdom but belatedly; so the Wisdom is quick in reckoning; most die or commit suicide at this point. At the end of the worldly knowledge worry and fear alone await us, thus!

That is why we are here on this material earth, to go through the phase of collecting knowledge so that Wisdom can awaken and we can bring "heaven on earth".

I leave the above quote , now , for your kind consideration.

I need to clarify this are these 2 different things? 'Higher dimensions and earthly dimension'? If so, how is it possible that the vastness of higher dimensions can be borught down to fit into the earthly dimension? Is it that we are to return to the source of peace and that we shall abandon the materialistic worldly knowledge which is self destructible? i.e., by ourselves being elevated and be raised up unto HIM?

                                      Peace be upon you Doctor,

You say 'Peace exists in the higher dimensions that which is not on earth. You say the mission is to bring the Peace down to the earthly dimension'

I need to clarify this are these 2 different things? 'Higher dimensions and earthly dimension'?

Yes and no. We get the term "individual" due to the understanding that there are two "worlds" that are an indivisible duality. There is the unseen world where energy/matter is undifferentaited and there is the seen world where energy/matter is differentiated. There is peace where there is no differentation, we should strive to bring unity to the seen world by raising our conciousness to the higher levels.

If so, how is it possible that the vastness of higher dimensions can be borught down to fit into the earthly dimension?

Who says it has to fit into the earthly dimensions? I am sure that only a dab will do

Is it that we are to return to the source of peace and that we shall abandon the materialistic worldly knowledge which is self destructible? i.e., by ourselves being elevated and be raised up unto HIM?

I disagree, we need knowledge to awaken the wisdom, how can we abandon the foundation, if the people who work on the leaning tower of Pisa abaondoned the foundation, it would have fallen a long time ago due to the UNCHANGING LAWS.
