Here it is what do you feel, being married to someone able to uphold such anti-quranic ideas ?
Other questions Wouldn't it be better to marry someone else ? I mean, with a more quranic behavior and thinking ?

I think that this article does not still fulfill the correct interpretation of our direction or target of connection with God during salat and after/before. We are told to face the al-masjid-al-haram wherever we are and that this is the truth from our lord. We are not to face the ka'ba that you have demonstrated in the link. I recommend you read an article from Dr Ayman who actually has studied origins and translations of obedience to God multiple times for many years and I myself have also studied this in some depth and find very little evidence that there is a physical prayer direction. In fact, that little evidence is zero to be honest. In regards to Abraham building the ka'ba, if we can differentiate between proper and common nouns then we would know that ka'ba simply means a base or sanctuary. This location was also given in Bakka and not Mecca as there is no evidence whatsoever that a town called Mecca even existed at that time. Also, no such town is ever mentioned in the Quran/Reading and when 'makkah' is mentioned in the reading, we cAn clearly check the translation in the Arabic dictionaries that it means 'destruction'. Please find Ayman's article below. I would ponder on it for quite some time.

In answer to your question, it was hard living with a mental and physical abusive man who has anti-quranic ideas. When he used to abuse, he said it was mentioned in Islam. But I have bulit enough courage to stand up to him and separate myself from him. Reading the Quran in English has helped me a lot and made me much stronger.
When you have been married to someone like this for many years and you then separate yourself from them, it is very hard to just get married to someone else because the worry is will the other person have the same mentality as him? And also, I don't feel that I am strong enough to go through that again.Peace. May god bless us all )

What concerns me mostly is the salat. What verses of the Quran are stated in the salat that Muslims around the world are performing, facing the qaba? Is there any rules on how you pray to god? I feel emotionally closer to god when I do my dua than when I am doing my namaz.
I think that the emotional closeness to God that you feel is guidance from Him. If you pray in a way that brings you closer, you are doing it right IMHO, which probably means that what you call "dua" is closer to what God calls "salaat" than that other thing you mention.
(Any adherent to scripture would be wise to apply the approach Wakas mentioned - if we are afraid of realizing our errors and adjusting/repenting, we will never be Muslim) -

It is sort of a common sense thing which people miss. This approach is good for avoiding blind faith and sheep mentality. It is also good for growth as you are willing to be at your own frontier of understanding, always ready to adapt to new understanding, ready to grow. Life is after all change. That which ceases being dynamic and stops developing, dies. So this is actually how the Creative Being/Allah makes people grow step by step. It is to go with the flow of life and the inspirations that Allah gives you. It is to forgo resistance and embrace growth.
