Question regarding "wadhu"?...please help!

It can theoretically be translated as "if you are ill" or "if you were ill" (i.e. past tense).
I think the implication is sexually touched the women, not merely touched. If so, are these two things not potentially unhygenic?
Im sorry but i dont understand what you are trying to say. I agree that touching has sexual implications and also that both those actions are unhygenic but my question is that if we are to clean ourselves everytime before we pray then it doesnt matter how unhygenic we are or not because it is to be done before every prayer so then y are these 2 conditions mentioned?

Salam NewgirlFirst, I believe that the salat does not mean the same thing as dhikr or Dua. I think that salat is a Community service (twice a day), for all men (sorry) , as they are mentioned in the verse. Because it says so precisely if you have touched women, which I understand also sexually. clear.It is not written if you have touched YOUR PARTNER., before apply these salat rules. I do not believe that for personal prayers (Dua Zikr), in whatever form they are well done, an ablution is necessary.
Everyone can do it of course, but mandatory.
However, you should appear cared and nice and clean for the salat ...This is also consistent with the fact that originally in other religious communities a wash before entering the Temple Synagogue, Church etc. was performed.
What counts as unclean is apparently not dust or soil. It's not about just the physical cleanliness and hygiene, but rather the spiritual.

I would really like someone to help me with my question, someone who like me believes that we are supposed to clean ourselves evrytime before we pray.

Ok, I think I understand you now. You seemed to mix multiple questions. Perhaps I can clarify with separating the translation
O you who believe, if you rise to hold the salat, THEN wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles;
and IF you have had intercourse, then you shall wash yourselves.
And IF you are/were ill, or travelling, or you have came from the toilet, or you have had sexual contact with the women, AND you cannot not find water, THEN you shall select from the clean soil; you shall wipe your faces and your hands with it......Some reasons come to mind...
Some people at the time (~1400 years ago) may not have regarded the underlined conditions as requiring washing/cleansing, but the above implies they do, and it eases the requirement in certain situations. For example if the author of Quran wished to ease the burden in certain situations the author would mention them. -

However does wash yourself mean only the part that is dirty or wash your whole body?
Because if i have to shower everytime i go to the washroom that will be very hard for people. Specially those who live in cold countries. However if it is ONLY wash the specific part that is dirty then I find it hard to believe that people wouldnt clean themselves after going to the washroom 1400 years ago.

the answer for your question . We make always Wudhu BUT you can make TAYAMMUM if you are ill or travelling AND for the reasons (you had urinary or fecal-related excretion, or physically contacted the women)WHEN YOU CANNOT FIND WATER.
In that case why are the 2 conditions"going to the washroom and sexual contact with a woman" in the ayah below mentioned?
the aya is written for the case you can make TAYAMMUM.

If you wish to shower everytime you go to the washroom that is up to you, that is not necessarily as per Quran.

If you are implying it is ALWAYS done immediately prior to the regular/timed salat, then this is highly unlikely. Bear in mind, the command applies universally, i.e. to those 1400 years ago and those with limited facilities etc. Note, a communal salat would likely involve travelling to a specific location, i.e. a passage of time will pass before commencing the regular/timed salat.
And as I said, it is not only about "nullification of wudu" (as you put it), quote

Approach not prayers with a mind befogged, until ye can understand all that ye say,- nor in a state of ceremonial impurity (Except when travelling on the road), until after washing your whole body. If ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands. I believe congregational salat is not mandatory. So if you think you are going to harm other people if you go, then you should probably avoid it, when you are sick. -

a believer don't must pray 1. when he is intoxicated 2. state of janaba until he washed himself . now the exeption from this two , i.e. MUST PRAY those passing trough and the ill, on a journey, or from make toilet or make sex -those must pray but without water.
