What is the Sin that God does not Forgive?
-
i just want to see if this was discussed before. What is the Sin that God does not forgive even if the person who commits it asks for forgiveness?
Peace belH,
Welcome back!
2567
2567 And those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, moderate.2568
2568 And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.2569
2569 Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated2570
2570 Except for those who repent, and believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. You can see where you fit Hope this may help you understand, inshaAllah.
May Allah increase us in knowledge and guide us to His only path pr

It seems I have a misunderstanding again!
What am I reading wrong in 448
Pickthal Surely, Allah does not forgive that a partner is ascribed to Him, and He forgives anything short of that for whomsoever He wills. Whoever ascribes a partner to Allah commits a terrible sin.
Sahih Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. -
Peace belH,
Pleased to make your acquaintence
We delivered the Children of Israel across the sea. Pharaoh and his troops pursued them, aggressively and sinfully. When drowning became a reality for him, he said, "I believe that there is no god except the One in whom the Children of Israel have believed; I am a submitter."
"Too late!* For you have rebelled already, and chose to be a transgressor.
If one dies or is in the throes of death repentence from idol worship would not be accepted.
Idolotry is a Lie perpetrated against God. It is to associate God's attributes to other than God. Lying about God is offensive and unacceptable to him.Being a fallible human is acceptable (if God wills). Therefore repentance for our sins is good for us
and brings out the humanity in us which is good for all.Peace

Idol Worship, the Unforgivable Sin
A simple definition of idol worship is to believe that anything beside God can help us, or to hold something as more important to us than God. Thus if we hold our property (for example) as more important than God /or give our jobs more time and attention than God - we are committing idol worship. Unfortunately, the majority of people who believe in God commit this gross offense without even realizing it. If you ask them, "Who is your god?", they will be outraged to hear this question. "What do you mean,Who is your god?' they will ask,My god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.' " And most of these people will be shocked to find out that their proclamation that their god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth is no more than lip service, and that they are in fact destined for Hell (12106). Idol worship is a gross injustice, the violation of the first commandment in all the scriptures of God, and is an unforgivable sin if maintained until death.

People who are being addressed are actually people of the book. Jews being specific. Those who took things out of context, distorted, lied about God, went in error, blatantly disobeyed. The enemies of God. The verse previous to that addresses the Jews who broke sabbath. Did you read about them and the characteristics of these Jews?
StopS, what did you understand this verse to be?

Yes, because the Koran claims that it is easy to understand and remember.
Doing what the Koran says is wrong? Come on! That can't be.Look at the verses before and after. Who is being addressed? People who are being addressed are actually people of the book. Jews being specific. Those who took things out of context, distorted, lied about God, went in error, blatantly disobeyed. The enemies of God. The verse previous to that addresses the Jews who broke sabbath. Did you read about them and the characteristics of these Jews?
Why do I need to read what is written before and after if this is a clear command?
StopS, what did you understand this verse to be?
Ah, you see, THAT should have been the first and only question. Thank you.
I understand "Allah does not forgive association with Him" to mean that there is a claim to exclusivity and that human made objects should not be worshipped. Worship, which is not accurately defined as such in the Koran, is reserved for a single being which is called Allah (Arabic for god/creator).
We have a new problem now what is the definition of worship? Worship can be anything from here to there, depending on your personal interpretation. What is your definition?
So it seems that every crime imaginable can be forgiven, but not having additional gods. The sentence before this does not help much because changing faces or turning heads backwards and comparing them to those which were cursed does not really seem realistic. Since the Jews don't have a son of a god, even though an Ezra is erroneously mentioned, this must be addressed at Christians, where we see a triple identity of their god. Which means that my answer to the question asked in this thread is clearly the association of other gods. The allocation of idols depends on the personal definition of worship.

Peace all,
Thank you all for your responses.
My understanding is all sins can be forgiven if we repent (before death) except the following Sin493
And whoever kills a believer intentionally, then his recompense shall be Hell, abiding therein, and God will be angry with him, and curse him, and for him is prepared a great retribution.
493

Peace belH.
Please look at the context. Verses 4 90 to 115 are dealing with rules of war, friendship...Then God goes on to say
[4116[
God does not forgive idol worship (if maintained until death),* and He forgives lesser offences for whomever He wills. Anyone who idolizes any idol beside God has strayed far astray.Otherwise you might as well take [ 4115}
As for him who opposes the messenger, after the guidance has been pointed out to him, and follows other than the believers' way, we will direct him in the direction he has chosen, and commit him to Hell; what a miserable destiny!
Then say this is also an unforgivable sin?
All sins can be forgiven,if one sincerely repents before death.
Peace.

Peace,
Help me out here...see the verse 92 below492
And it is not for a believer to kill another believer except by accident. And whoever kills a believer by accident, then he shall free a believing slave, and give compensation to the family; except if they remit it. If he was from a people who are enemies to you, and he was a believer, then you shall free a believing slave. And if he was from a people with whom you have a covenant, then a compensation to his family, and free a believing slave. Whoever does not find, then the fasting of two months sequentially as a repentance from God; for God is Knowledgeable, Wise.
492
Then see the verse after
493
And whoever kills a believer intentionally, then his recompense shall be Hell, abiding therein, and God will be angry with him, and curse him, and for him is prepared a great retribution.
493
What is the punishment for killing a believer intentionally?

However if one repents before death, all sins can be forgiven!.

Peace Brother,
Sorry, I'm about to go out for dinner; however, I would love to discuss this further later.
But please understand these are two different Sins. The Killing's punishment is death, but disbleving is not and has no punishment in life (unless we believe the Suna and say it is death ).
We can find many verses in the quran about repenting when one disblieves, but non about repenting from killing a believer.

Salaam belH,
Thank you for pointing it out. I agree with you handshake
Killing a believer INTENTIONALLY has already declared his recompense as JAHANNUM. I will agree with you until it is clear to me that Jahannum is not available in this world life but only in the life after. May Allah help me and increase us in knowledge.
Intentionally, is a key point that has to be understood to understand the true meaning of that aayat.
May God bless you bro, and fill your life with happiness and peace pr
