The 19th last chapter of the Qur'aan which contains the first five revealed verses reads at the beginning as follows
iqra' bismi rabbikalladhiy khalaqa
Read/Recite! In the name of thy Lord who created.I would like to present to all those who would like to learn how to read the Qur'aan in Arabic with a few basic lessons to achieve this easy and desired goal.
Nothing is complicated. If you really learn hard you could nearly achieve the task in 24 hours. Begin to master the Qur'aan yourself and read it in the language in which it was revealed.
Let's begin!
Keep the following in mind. It is the overall statement that covers this lesson that will make you literate in the Arabic language in its unconnected form. The connected form is just a few steps from there. I have taught many to read and write Arabic in just twenty four hours. That is a 95% + plus of any Arabic word. Remember reading and writing not speaking. Learning the language will be for another thread. Inshaa allaah to everything.
The overall statement
The Arabic language of the Qur'aan which is a detailed explanation of the Book (al-kitaab) consists of an alphabet of 28 letters (consonants) plus one special letter called alif; 3 short vowels written above or below the consonantal letters, which can be extended into 3 long vowels using the 3 universal letters alif (a), waaw (W), and yaa? (Y); and two important diphthongs ay and aw. From here the entire structure of the language is build upon a well designed arrangement.Here is the whole Arabic Alphabet (consonants only). Just have a look at it. In the next post I will present thirteen letters that we shall examine more closely.

Post 4Forgive if the charts are too big. I did not realize when I completed them that they were going to be so large on many screens. After another 3 + posts I will begin doing smaller ones inshaa allaah.
The Arabic vowels
As I have said before that there are only 3 short vowels written above or below the consonantal letters.

Here are the examples of how Arabic consonants relate to Arabic vowels. Observe it well. They are as easy as looking at it once only.
Example One the letter L which is called Laam in Arabic.

Can you see how the vowels are written either above or below the consonantal letters to produce from the L la li lu.

I did not realize that these charts would appear so large on the screens when I designed them a few months back. I am going to reduce them in size. Hope that you will be patient for now.
If you follow these short lessons then you will be able to read Arabic before the year is out inshaa allaah. I will also give some reading and writing tests. Don't fall behind! Here is another chart to proceed with learning to be able to read the Arabic language of the Qur'aan. Another four letters.
Take note of the first two vertical letters.
The first is vertical without anything above. It's name is 'alifun or just 'alif when- the small diagonal stroke is place above it then we utter the plain vowel sound a
- the small diagonal stroke is place below it then we utter the plain vowel sound i
- the small figure that looks like a diagonal nine is place above it then we utter the plain vowel sound u
Remember to consult the previous posts for the explanation of the correct pronunciation.
The second is also vertical but with a figure like a reversed 2 above. The figure like a reversed 2 above the 'alifun is called 'amzatun or just 'amzah and is not a vowel but a soft consonant. For now you may sound it like the a but it is written with a comma 'a.
An example of difference If we wrote three ,alifs then it would be one long sound like aaa but if we wrote three 'amzahs it would be separate like 'a 'a 'a.Let me know if their is anything that is not clear.

Will we also learn the different forms the letters take in a word (beginning, middle and end). That is the part I find hard because as well as being 28 letters they are in 3 different forms depending on the position in the word so really we have to learn 28 letters plus another 28 plus another 28!!!!! No problems! We can do it. May God bless you for your efforts. I am looking forward to your next post. -

Thank you very much. I try my best to make people see for themselves what is inside the Qur'aan. And the first thing they must do is to become literate and learn the language of the Qur'aan.
Don't be concerned about the the different forms the letters are written to be joined. It is a one page explanation and will be understood immediately. It is as simple as that.
I would like to ask you these questions
1)- Do you already know the full alphabet?
2)- Do you already know how to use the vowels?
3)- Do you already know how the vowels are lengthened?What are the main problems you are having learning to read and write. Let me know inshaa allaah.

kataba pronounced as ka-ta-ba = he wrote
qara'a pronounced as qa-ra-'a = he read
darasa pronounced as da-ra-sa = he studiedTo say she did the above one just add a t to the end of the pass tense verbal root.
katabat pronounced as ka-ta-bat = she wrote
qara'at pronounced as qa-ra-'at = she read
darasat pronounced as da-ra-sat = she studiedTo say I did the above one just add a tu to the end of the pass tense of the root.
katabtu pronounced as ka-ta-btu = he wrote
qara'tu pronounced as qa-ra-'tu = he read
darastu pronounced as da-ra-stu = he studiedThat is an extra lesson for an avid and an intelligent student of knowledge.

Check for Correction
I was hasty and did not re-check and so I made a mistake in the English.
It should be I as below and not he as above in the previous lesson.To say I did the above one just add a tu to the end of the pass tense of the root.
katabtu pronounced as ka-ta-btu = I wrote
qara'tu pronounced as qa-ra-'tu = I read

I hope that you have studied well the previous lessons. So far I showed you how the 3 short vowels are used with consonants; either above or below the letters. Remember that they are short vowels and they must always be uttered short. If it is ma say it ma and do not drag it maa. Unlike English Arabic does not have such deviations and so you can never get lost or confused as you go along. What you have studied before will remain the same after.
Now I will give you the lesson of the letters ( a - w - y ) that elongates (makes longer) the vowels which are written above or below the consonants. Refer back to a past lesson to bring back to memory anything you may have forgotten.
Here is the chart below that will show you all the details of how to lengthen Arabic vowels. Simple and that is all there is to it. These rules are applied to all the other letters as well. If you had followed these 7 posts so far then you should have covered over half the rules of Arabic unconnected writing. Connected writing rules are even simpler but we shall get there soon inshaa allaah. Study nicely and let me know if there is anything you need to know.

Peace again al-amiyr As i was beginning my study of "Entering the Hidden Book...", it occured to me that your PM to me about this thread is un-finished, and i am confused about you asking me if i wanted to have you post the connected Arabic. Was that not already going to be part of this dangling lesson plan. Please do post whatever is left of this lesson soon, as i see some of us are waiting, and have been for days....
So far has been quite instructive....
