Peace I have joined your class of online students. I find your lessons very clear and helpful.
Will we also learn the different forms the letters take in a word (beginning, middle and end). That is the part I find hard because as well as being 28 letters they are in 3 different forms depending on the position in the word so really we have to learn 28 letters plus another 28 plus another 28!!!!! No problems! We can do it. May God bless you for your efforts. I am looking forward to your next post. -

Thank you very much. I try my best to make people see for themselves what is inside the Qur'aan. And the first thing they must do is to become literate and learn the language of the Qur'aan.
Don't be concerned about the the different forms the letters are written to be joined. It is a one page explanation and will be understood immediately. It is as simple as that.
I would like to ask you these questions
1)- Do you already know the full alphabet?
2)- Do you already know how to use the vowels?
3)- Do you already know how the vowels are lengthened?What are the main problems you are having learning to read and write. Let me know inshaa allaah.
(note; there are twenty-nine letters in the alphabet- 28 consonants and a special letter called 'alif)+salaam

I will upload another lesson later. For now as an extra bonus learn these verbs
kataba pronounced as ka-ta-ba = he wrote
qara'a pronounced as qa-ra-'a = he read
darasa pronounced as da-ra-sa = he studiedTo say she did the above one just add a t to the end of the pass tense verbal root.
katabat pronounced as ka-ta-bat = she wrote
qara'at pronounced as qa-ra-'at = she read
darasat pronounced as da-ra-sat = she studiedTo say I did the above one just add a tu to the end of the pass tense of the root.
katabtu pronounced as ka-ta-btu = he wrote
qara'tu pronounced as qa-ra-'tu = he read
darastu pronounced as da-ra-stu = he studiedThat is an extra lesson for an avid and an intelligent student of knowledge.

Check for Correction
I was hasty and did not re-check and so I made a mistake in the English.
It should be I as below and not he as above in the previous lesson.To say I did the above one just add a tu to the end of the pass tense of the root.

I hope that you have studied well the previous lessons. So far I showed you how the 3 short vowels are used with consonants; either above or below the letters. Remember that they are short vowels and they must always be uttered short. If it is ma say it ma and do not drag it maa. Unlike English Arabic does not have such deviations and so you can never get lost or confused as you go along. What you have studied before will remain the same after.
Now I will give you the lesson of the letters ( a - w - y ) that elongates (makes longer) the vowels which are written above or below the consonants. Refer back to a past lesson to bring back to memory anything you may have forgotten.
Here is the chart below that will show you all the details of how to lengthen Arabic vowels. Simple and that is all there is to it. These rules are applied to all the other letters as well. If you had followed these 7 posts so far then you should have covered over half the rules of Arabic unconnected writing. Connected writing rules are even simpler but we shall get there soon inshaa allaah. Study nicely and let me know if there is anything you need to know.

Peace again al-amiyr As i was beginning my study of "Entering the Hidden Book...", it occured to me that your PM to me about this thread is un-finished, and i am confused about you asking me if i wanted to have you post the connected Arabic. Was that not already going to be part of this dangling lesson plan. Please do post whatever is left of this lesson soon, as i see some of us are waiting, and have been for days....

I just worry for brother al-amiyr how can he respond to all our emails, and address some others on this forum, and at the same time prepare and give lessons? After all he is only human.

I was just pulling brother al-amiyr's leg. I am more interested in the hidden book thread where the origin of the letters are discussed. I agree with you. brother al-amiyr must be workig hard. Whenever I look then I see him online. I go regularly to his forum where there is a category leading to other forums where he is also having discussions.

For all wishing to read the Qur'aanic Arabic in the connected form, here is a diagram explaining five letters forming a similar group. I shall present the others and furnish examples in due time inshaa allaah. Let me know if there is anything else for now.Peace

The Post 14, which i reviewed yesterday and this morn, IS NOT a lesson in connected Arabic by any means. Will you please follow your promise to post the rest of this lesson, as being able to READ the connected Arabic is a very important tool for any student of the Qur'an, don't you agree?Now you're referring me to The Hidden Book again? This lesson here couldn't be that hard to cut and paste. When you are ready, i'll be waiting. Anyway, why the turnabout?
