      peace,

Being a long term member here I can give you an idea about what the majority here think (not all)

      1. sex outside of marriage is not allowed or at least looked down upon
      2. http//misconceptions-about-islam.com/islam-homosexuality.htm
      3. http//misconceptions-about-islam.com/alcohol-is-forbidden.htm
      4. "criminality" is too wide a subject
      5. majority here do not accept code 19 or at least consider it irrelevant to them
      6. vast majority here reject Traditional Hadith as authoritative/obligatory - they can be read/studied/etc if one chooses but not considered binding

No one "scholar" is promoted here.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        Ok.

Some comments from me. Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed. Understanding satanic mindset a bit, they worship idols, and the bigger idol, is ofcourse the most powerful. That means they are run by their fears. The biggest fear would ofcourse be death-penality. God DESTROYED Sodom and Gomorrah. Isn?t that a "stipulation" of punishment enough? If gays hear God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, is not God the bigger beast and who runs them? And so to their own good ofcourse.

So that is how I feel about it, and why there should be death-penality for homophilia.

I think also the reply there on alcohol is a bit odd. Godconsciousness protects against satan. Alcohol removes one from godconsciousness. Alcohol is ofcourse forbidden.

Criminality in general, transgression/sin, is not a too wide subject, and can generally be answered.

So you say no "scholar" is promoted here, but yet present a uniform answer for "most people here". Who wrote these things? Should we say "the free-minds scholars"?

        Peace Be With You.

Why would you label these "core" values? I would consider them fringe values, if I interpret terms such as homophilia or criminality correctly.

"In The Quran marriage is only possible between man and woman, and any sex or lewd acts out with marriage by anyone (i.e. not only homosexuals) are considered punishable offences and if proven in a society governed by The Quran's laws, a penalty can be administered by such a society . "

Homosexuality can not be punished as its nobody's concern. Only adultery can be as its concerning third party. Its adultery the Quran is talking about as adultery is having sex with somebody else's spouse. Only when a third party is involved does the Quran allows us to get involved and hold people accountable.

This is even worse than Farouk A Peru.

Ofcourse if we have people in our society, that obsesses with sex on public toilets, to the offense of normal people. you know they do not understand a decent society, and cannot go around your children.

That is my final word in that.

                Dear "Noble Reign",

Your entire "final word" was hilarious. In particular, the following

Ofcourse if we have people in our society, that obsesses with sex on public toilets, to the offense of normal people. you know they do not understand a decent society, and cannot go around your children.

I am currently stuck at the library, working on an essay. Please keep coming with your ridiculous quotes. It has certainly kept me entertained during my break!

                Take care.

                Sajda.

1 disgusting and degenerate behavior that should be punished with severe lashings. 2 likewise, though it only becomes a problem when people demand it be recognized as legitimate (and no punishment is ascribed for it). 3 prohibited. As for 1667, that verse is clearly speaking to the disbelievers. 4 pretty broad.

Then why start a thread then? You bring no evidence from the Quran.

The Koran doesn't explicitly prohibit bestiality.

It just bewilders me when people take no issue with lying, cheating, dishonesty, misappropriating monies; general everyday misdemeanours, but go crazy over homosexuality like it is their own personal crusade.

Well, if you're not going to take issue with lying, cheating, dishonesty, misappropriating monies; general everyday misdemeanours, then why give special treatment to the homosexuals by condemning them.

Note that it was God who punished in the example you gave, not humans.

And in your last sentence you said "feel". That is very different from "as per Quran". Further, the law of equivalence is very clear in Quran. To do as you propose would violate it.

So you say no "scholar" is promoted here, but yet present a uniform answer for "most people here".

The two are not mutually exclusive. Feel free to read and explore the forum and make up your own mind.

What is your stand on these core values in Islam

                                        1. Promiscuity-bad for society
                                        2. Homophilia -no opinion
                                        3. Intoxicants- should be avoided
                                        4. Criminality-unacceptable

                                        And also
                                        5) 19-interesting, but not needed for salvation
                                        6) Hadith-no good

And is there any particular scholar you associate with your choices? -God

The Koran doesn't explicitly prohibit bestiality.

The question is not about prohibition but punishment by law. Some people seem to have a hard time understanding the difference.
