Why would this construction eliminate As Samiri as a description other than a name?

I thought your comment was saying that As Samiri has to be a name. I asked why it could not be a title of an individual. If you are saying that it is definitely not a nation or a group of people, then I agree.

          Salaam,

As per my understanding alSamiri cannot be a name as it is used with "AL" and as far as I know none of the names in alQuraan is used with al.

            Salamun alaika,

It was learned Azad who opined that it refers to a nation. He overlooked the fact that this man is part of Bani Israel who have just escaped from Egypt and they were still in bewilderness when this episode happened.

We address people one to one either by personal name, or official title held by him or by name which he is popularly known by.

He was addressed by vocative particle Ya. Thereby, he is just one individual known by name Saamri. His companions also referred him by the same name while giving explanation to Musa alahissalam.

                Salamun alaika,

He is stated and addressed as a singular person, a man.

Okay, so. he is a Man? a Person?

He was the first to become patient of expressive aphasia having suffered stroke because of fumes.

The first reported case of Expressive aphasia-Sa'mri- " no touching"

have no idea for this explanation confused

                      Peace Andantino.

When I try to searching about As-Samiri in the Quran, only 2087 mentioning that name.I'm not good with history, and maybe he related with the Fir'aun.
Alos the site you pointing out is a good evidence.
