language. You are right when you say a group can be a family. But to say a family
"is" becomes the definition of the word. If you notice I sometimes say "peace family"
when opening a post, referring to my family of believers. Therefore a family can be
understood to be a group with similar aspirations metaphorically.Peace 357,

It seems weird if one think both comes from the same root. But in fact the one in verse ,984 comes from the root word "Sa-La-Va", meaning to pray, but, in verse 1170, comes from the root word "Wa-Sa-La" meaning to touch, contact or reaching toward. They're derived from different root words with different meanings. Hope it is clear now.

I remember reading about how salat and zakat were taught to Abraham and passed down through the generations, and how Allah promises in the Quran to preserve His signs. Does that include the preservation of salat since its clarification upon revelation of the Quran? While the details of salat are not mentioned, is salat still a "sign" from Allah and thus protected by Him?

Salaat is to commemorate ALLAAH, swt, alone. See verse 2014 below among others.
Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no God save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance.
So, as long as one does not commemorates anyone else but ALLAAH, swt, in his/her salaat, thus no corruption. He/she has followed The Qur'aan.

a family is a test, in which each individual is unique, this represent the diversity of nations/community/groups in the world. so, it is a test for us how we live in the family with pride or humble. this family extension is the world.

The Lord of mankind provides the best examples. So i am reminded of the one where Moses tells his people that god commands them to sacrifice an animal.
And remember Moses said to his people "Allah commands that ye sacrifice a heifer."
They said "Makest thou a laughing-stock of us?"
He said "Allah save me from being an ignorant (fool)!"
They said "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!"
He said; "He says The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!"
They said "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour."
He said "He says A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!"
They said "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is To us are all heifers alike We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills."
He said "He says A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish."
They said "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will.A simple command made hard - sound familiar???
Read it over and over and over and take heed of the message!!!
