I pray 5 times dag, its that wrong?

+salaam
You are 100% correct in uttering this formula. It was uttered by all the greatest and most learned men and women of the qur'aan since the time of the revelation of the qur'aan. There is a reason for its recitation. If you have no knowledge about it you would have no idea. Seek knowledge before making any hasty decisions as to what you must say and what you must not say. May ALLAAH guide all inshaa ALLAAH.
Salam!
Good to hear that i say it right Thank you for the answer! You have learned me much now

God mentions 3 prayer times by name in the Quran. So fir arguments sake, let's say these 3 Salat are mandatory. But you're praying 5, is that wrong? No. How can it be wrong to worship Allah even when you're not obligated to. You're getting extra credit. 6 is better than 5. 5 is better than 3. 3 is better than1. 1 is better than zero. You underhand.
As for saying Muhammadan Rasool Allah during Adhan. It's risky in my opinion. One of the requirements of Salat in Quran is to commemorate God ALONE with no partners. You might be making Muhammad a partner by mentioning his name alongside Allah.
As for the Durood, yes clearly wrong. On two ends... 1) You're now focusing on Abraham and Muhammad rather than worshipping, commemorating God alone. And you're also breaking another requirement of Salat by reciting words other than Quran. You can recite anything from Quran instead. I think it would be safer and much better for you. The power of my Salat has grown tremendously since I stopped setting up partners besides Allah. At first it felt strange. Then after a few days, it felt amazing, in a good way.
5 commands Allah gives us in the Quran regarding Salat
- Make Wudu (ablution) first
- Face the Qibla
- Commemorate God ALONE
- Recite words from the Quran
- Stand, bow and prostrate
That's all that matters. The other details are not important. If they were, Allah would have included them. God does not forget or run out of words. It's a test, will you follow Allah's words or use this as an excuse to follow outside teachings and man made books, like the people before us did?
Also, don't think that Allah is far away when you're praying. He's not. He's right there with you. Being aware of that in itself will strengthen your Salat and give you answers, Insha Allah.
We have created the human being and We know what his person whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein.
Salam!
Thank you for the answer! It helpeed me alot. but i think i want to countinue on the old prayer. Because i feel i come Close to God on that way -
salaam
After reading posts on free-mind my husband, who was convinced that prayer are only three times/ day, each of two rakaa. I was not that much convinced and, like many who wanted to follow Qur'aan only, I too started praying just three times, but I felt kind of lost with these reduced and short prayers, many times I wanted to go back to five times. My husband debated with me on this so I asked guidance from ALLAAH, and only recently when I entered the Hidden Book I could understand the importance of remembrance and guidance focused on qibla, at different stages of the day, and generating frequency waves by sending salaam and duruwd, so I started praying five times a day and sit down and do duruwd and the feeling is great.
May ALLAAH guide us all further to the straight road inshaa ALLAAH
I understand whu you think 3 times its to little. But we have not to take more prayers than 3

Salaam Aaleyah,
I read your posts and understand you are searching how to practice the acts of worshiping ALLAAH-God. You remind me SO MUCH about myself some years/months ago! I was also searching how to pray, what to say, what are the meanings of what we say, what are the right things to say? And I confess I was also completely lost among all this information contained in the quraan ), in the Scriptures ), in the hadiyths ), in people's mind ( , in religious books ) and (
I have been raised in a secular country (France) and I didn't receive any "islamic formation" (no lessons of religion, no Arabic classes, nothing like that).
I was completely ignorant about the acts of worship and even today I am still asking questions, lot of questions about the prayers, their meanings, their number etc.I was also completely lost about religious matters like this one about "how many prayers must we pray a day and when?"
"should we really go to the mosk?". And I had from people some completely random answers like "no, just pray 4 times a day" or "no, just pray 1 time a day to begin" or "what?? you don't pray the prayer of the down?! you are an unbeliever and a hypocrite!" or "no, pray 5 times a day".Just to illustrate the fact that if you begin to listen to what the mass has to say about religious matters, they will surely make you have a big headache and you can easily give up, just because the mass does not understand hadyiths, neither the quraan neither the whole Scriptures (if they understood them, they wouldn't be divided in so many sects always snatching each others's faces for centuries and they continue today.) So I understood after reflection that the mass couldn't help me at all to get knowledge on religious matters everyone was giving me his own opinion/understanding, and I was not searching for personnal opinions/understandings. This is so irritating to ask a question and get contradictory answers.
So, what I did I stopped asking people about religious matters and I opened myself the Scriptures and I searched myself, independently of how much time it will take for me to find my answers, also I had many inspirations that I found correct after I found out the answer to my question.
At least, I learnt a lot myself and I could use freely my critical mind to put my understandings to the test without being polluted.I would like to search answers for our questions together if you wish. I feel you are very nice and I think we can understand each other and the questions through which we are going.
By the way, what are you studying and in what university?
Hope to read your reply soon )

Salaam sister,
It is okay, but you may want to reconsider whether to say "wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasul allah". It is a very sectarian saying and in my opinion it does not make much sense since there are many Messengers to say shahad for if you think this way. Muhammad did not start his own religion you know, he simply followed the same creed as Ibrahim.
And God knows that Muhammad is His Messenger already; His testimony is sufficient for everything as long as you testify there is only one God with ultimate control.
Besides, Muhammad got retired when his life ended. He enjoys his eternal vacation in Paradise now (God willing). So it is a bit silly to testify that someone not on the job anymore is a Messenger of God, do you not think so?
God bless you

Im agree With you. I should not say the shahada on that way. I will take the last part away.

I understand. Im agree With you, they forget the others prophetssalaam+
No Aaleyah! Muslims do not forget the other prophets (s+). They put prayers on them all the time. The people that you have met might not have done it. Even uneducated Muslims would be shocked at what you have just said. I know of no Muslim who forgot or forget the other prophets (s+) and I have taught thousands. How many Muslims who know the qur'aan have you personally spoken to who told you that they have forgotten the other prophets(s+).
Did you know that one cannot just say a prophet's name without adding a good supplication. If you would like to know more I will show you the dimensions of the prophets (s+) and their functions through time inshaa ALLAAH. I would like you to know everything so that you might not get entangled in another type of sectarianism posing as another right way. May ALLAAH guide all to his right way inshaa ALLAAH.

In fact I also wanted to tell you a little about my little story of seeking islaam and seeking God. I am very happy that I found Him (at least I have this feeling that I found Him) or I am very close to come closer to Him insha'allaah and al-hamdulillaah.
I very wish you to find the truth on your own at the end.

1st Salaat MUST be for remembrance of ALLAAH, swt, ALONE. We must NOT commemorate anyone else in our salaats at all. See 2014 among other verses below.
Verily I, I am ALLAAH, there is no god but I, thus serve me and establish the salaat for My remembrance.
2nd After your second SUJDAH in your second RUK'AH, sit, and simply say "Ash-hadu-allaa-ilaaha-illALLAAHU, wahhdahu, laa shareeka lah". Then stand up for the third RUK'AH. If you're doing your last ruk'ah then right after the above SHAHAADAH, say your SALAAM as you always do and finish your salaat.

Again no Aaleyah! In islaam every prophet had a community, people, or nation and each community, people or nation had to give their prophet its respect and honour. We are called the community or nation or people of muhammad (S+) and we give him that honour and respect.
I will show you many statements of the prophet (S+) where he stated how great other prophets(s+) were. The ignorance of the people concerning this has caused a great confusion in the matter. If you follow the qur'aan, then you belong to the community of muhammad(S+). Continue seeking the advice of all as much as you can. You shall surely find the right way inshaa ALLAAH. Ask yourself this important question on your journey of knowledge to seek the lord, "How do I know who are the best to give me advice?" May ALLAAH guide all to his right way inshaa ALLAAH -

Most of the things that you have said about Muslims are completely untrue. They would find it extremely insulting and then say that you are nothing but a distorter. That does not mean that everything that certain Muslims say are true. Just continue to seek knowledge! My suggestion to you is follow the islaam that you were originally taught and after a full study correct yourself as to what you understand is best for you. Do not enter islaam by the wrong opinion of other Muslims. That is my best advice to you. I very seldom have answered someone as much as I have tried to answer you. I fear that you will be thrown completely off track in another wilderness of confusion. May ALLAAH guide all inshaa ALLAAH.

Firstly, please do no take anything that is said on this forum or anywhere as the truth, including my own posts. There are two things one must get right no matter what they say in their salat or how many times they do it
- sincerity
- try your best
With regard to your questions, please see Quran 2014 - Verily I, I am The God, there is no god but I, thus serve me and establish the salaat/bond for My remembrance.

I dont care what you say. I know self what true islam is. Now Iam angry. I have read the quran now and i have found that Muhammed (Peace be upon him) is a big prophet. So i will continoue say the normaly prayer. In the Quran is say that People who dont think muhammed is big, dont think God is big.
I just follow the truth. I read the Quran self. And found the truth

I have seen many on this forum mocking the rites and rituals of umra/hajj. Such mockery does create doubt in one's mind, but I have kept my feeling neutral, as I was taken 'back stage', on Channel 4 a few years back. I saw millions of Muslims, despite being so undisciplined in every day life, were offering prayers in a unified ordered manner during hajj. This scene left the TV commentator gobsmacked; he kept saying "amazing scene"! Recently I was gobsmacked as I've come to understand the significance of all the rites of hajj and umra. I am sure that, once the world understand those signs, no doubts will remain who is rightly guided.
At the moment I am not fully sure about prayers; how many, how to do it right etc. so until I acquire a solid understanding I continue to pray traditional number of raka, as above, making sure to be focused on the qibla.
AS-SALAWAAT must be at least 4 to have a MIDDLE room for AS-SALAATULWUSTA, i.e. 2, as-salaatulwustaa, 2.
Therefore, the minimum number of daily sallaats are 2+1(middle prayer)+2=5You say above that SALAWAAT must be which shows you are not sure and then you go on to say Therefore, the minimum number of daily sallaats are ..... what sort of conclusion is that confused
Now I have 2 questions for you then right after the above SHAHAADAH, say your SALAAM
saying salaam to whom and why?
Secondly its a matter of decent etiquette to say thanks to those who do you a favour, or to send blessings to those who have done you great favour, so how does one do that?salaam
