I have commited shirk - is there hope for me?
-
Peace brother May
You have committed only Shirk, but realized that you did shirk and repented and then what Allah needs. HE is so MERCIFUL and a Forgiver and if anyone doubts about HIS two attributes then he becomes nearly a denier.
Indeed, those who have believed then disbelieved, then believed, then disbelieved, and then increased in disbelief - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a way. 4137
When Allah can forgive KUFR again and again then why not SHIRK? But only on one condition and that is to repent and never turn back to Shirk or Kufr.-
Be staunch in your belief and believe that Allah always forgives and He is the MOST MERCIFUL.
May Allah guide you and always trust in Allah
Thanks

Is there an ayat that says about the condition above. I do not remember having read that way. I do not want to commit shirk but I am weak towards that. And Allah too says 12106 And most of them do not believe in Allah without associating things and persons for their livelihood.
I am not a dis-believer but associate because of weakness to solely believe Only in Allah. This is the position with most on earth. What is Allah's stand on these people? Mercy? Tolerant? Patient? Forgiving? Kind? Considerate? Making things easy for one to a believable extent? Making Self-sufficient so that there is no need to commit shirk?
Sure, let us believe, by Allah, all these qualities of Him would be bestowed upon us as one lot for all time to come to save us from every direction of our weakness and steadily our shirk will be removed by Allah.
Let us sigh a relief with this ayat of Allah.
866 For the present Allah has made light your burden, and He knows that there is weakness in you;And let us read the ayat below if Allah Himself says such should be an ordinary man's quality, it surely is His Quality too, and He possesses in abundance of them all, all directed towards us. Wow!
3159 Thus it is due to mercy from Allah that you deal with them gently, and had you been rough, hard hearted, they would certainly have dispersed from around you; pardon them therefore and ask pardon for them, and take counsel with them in the affair; so when you have decided, then place your trust in Allah; surely Allah loves those who trust.
May Allah Purify Us. And He is sure to consult with us as to what extent if He bestows upon us we can stay pure at heart and would restrain association. That is the beautiful way of Allah with us.
Salam , brother Kazi.

Verse 53-54 of Chapter 39 of Al-Quran (3953-54) says emphatically that Allah(swt) forgives all sins. Conditions apply!

I have committed shirk . I prayed to Jesus. I have been involved in Wicca . But deep down I know god is one. The Wiccas god is not God. Jesus is not God. There is only one God . And it is Allah. I regret terrible at this. I 'm afraid I'm going to hell (
Allah says in the Quran Allah forgiveth 448 not that partners should be set up with Him , but He forgiveth anything else , To Whom He pleasent Seth , two set up partners with Allah is two devise a sin Most heinous indeed. But I read this
Shirk is not forgivable only if one dies with shirk - Allah used the word ' Yushrak ' Which means 'does shirk ' - he did not use ' Ashrak ' Which means ' did shirk ' . So Shirk is reputable , Allah forgives those who stop doing Shirk during there lifetime .
And in the Quran also states this
And those who do not worship another good besides Allah , nor kill another person that Allah has forbidden , except right fully , nor commit adultery ( or fornication ) , and he who does so Shall be punished . His torment Shall be doubled on the Day of Resurrection , and will live Therein disgraced forever . Excluding those who repent , and believe and do good deeds , and Allah is Most Forgiving , Merciful } Al Furqan 25 68-70
So is there hope for me ? I regret with all my heart.
I think you have a simplistic understanding of shirk.
-
Peace brother Dr, Fazl
And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden , except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty 2568
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated 2569
EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO REPENT, BELIEVE and do RIGHTEOUS WORK. For them Allah will REPLACE their evil deeds with good. And EVER is Allah FORGIVING and Merciful 25;70
And he who REPENTS and does righteousness does indeed TURN to Allah with REPENTANCE 2571
I would like to add one thing which relates to the Zina subject.
The zanis cannot marry a believer. WHY? because according to the verse 2568 any BELIEVER who commits Zina, kill someone intentionally except in Justice and commits shirk, immediately becomes a DISBELIEVER, and that is the reason that the believer cannot marry a Zani and verse 25;70 confirms that if the Believer REPENTS and BELIEVES
On the Day when He will call to them, and say, ?Where are My ASSOCIATES whom you used to claim?? 2862
Those concerning whom the Word will have come true will say Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray even as we ourselves were astray. We declare our innocence before Thee us they never worshipped. 2863
And it will be said, "Invoke your 'PARTNERS' " and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance! 2864
And on the Day when He will call unto them and say What answer gave ye to the messengers? 2865
But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not ask one another. 2866
But as for one who had REPENTED, BELIEVED, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful. 2867

sorry for the incomplete post due to some problems with my pc.
Brother Fazl I have a limited knowledge of Quran and I believe that any crime, shirk done in ignorance is forgiven by Allah. But the moment the crime is committed (Murder and Zina) the perpetrator becomes disbeliever and to be forgiven by Allah he has to REPENT and BELIEVE and do righteous deeds and that is the message I understood from 25;71. The same thing goes for shirk, if a person like me commits shirk in spite of knowing what shirk is then I believe that is not pardonable, but there are thousand of Believers who dot know abcd of the Quran and if they commit shirk for example going to DARGAH etc and ask their Help etc. then their shirk is pardonable, if they realize that they committed shirk and immediately REPENT and BELIEVE.
Please correct me if I am mistaken and I shall be thankful to You for that. We learn through each other and this forum is a blessing for us
Thanks brother Fazl

May we be elevated from
Mumin to MuslimsBrother Kazi,
There are two lives for us in this world, out of which we choose One, which is the most difficult thing of challenges we could face on this earth. Our mind houses the two lives one, the Will of Allah that is intuited from our Soul, our insight that which conveys to our mind only righteousness and that which distinguishes to us between right and wrong of everything that our mind houses at any given time; and the other, the evil desires which our external physical senses like hearing and sight institutes into our mind, against the insight, the soulful Will of Allah.
Our mind thus houses two lives
One, The Will, The Truth, The Insight, The Vision, The Wisdom, The Criterion, The Challenge against The desire, the falsehood, the impulse, the sight, the knowledge, the instinct, the brute force.
Two, the reverse of it. The desire, the falsehood, the impulse, the sight, the knowledge, the instinct, the brute force against The Will, The Truth, The Insight, The Vision, The Wisdom, The Criterion, The Challenge.
Those who Wilfully Wish the first, are the believers, they side with the Soul; and those who lustily desire the second are the disbelievers, siding with the inducements of shaitan - these act instinctively through external reflexes triggered off from their brain, without any control from the soulful mind.
The first category are the distinguished, honourable, dignified believers; while the second groups are the mindless down trodden disbelievers.
Both the components are there in the mind of every man, the difference in the ratio between the two qualities distinguishes and differentiates between the individuals. And every individual is different within him every moment. This is the grace of Allah; it is not for us to distinguish and judge for Allah is the best of judges. There is no way we can call one a believer and the other individual a disbeliever as long as one has not completely lost his soul. None knows except Allah when his soul will be awakened to His Will and whose mind is fit for it. Allah is the best of judges.
A believer will not judge himself a believer; so he has in the depth of his mind doubts and fears if he is leading the life towards being elevated from the level of a believer i.e from the state of a mumin, to the highest state, The Muslim. The state of a Muslim is that state of mind that is at Salam with The Salam, Allah. To attain this state, we shall have firm belief and put our Trust in such Attributes of Allah The Forgiving, The Merciful, The Tolerant, The Enduring, The Patient, The Kind, The Truthful, The Able, The Plentiful, The Wise and there is none like unto Him. And it is not for us to judge His Attributes and say "Allah will not tolerate or forgive this or that!" If we judge Allah this way, we are the worst of all disbelievers and will be the fuel of hell.
So let us believe and put our Trust in All The Comforting Qualities of Allah, however badly positioned we are by our mind and actions today; never to despair of His Bountiful Mercy and Abundant Tolerance and Kindness towards us. We are thus mumins to be elevated gradually by the Most Wise, Able to the state of Muslim as He please. And no doubt we would be well pleased with Him and what shall remain forever with us is, His Salam. Now we are Muslims, for Him.
Let us start our lives basically as mumins in His Qualities, putting our trust in THE SAME, and take the back seat as He Guides us through beautiful passages to the state of one possessing Salam, all the way to heaven as Muslims. Here is the prayer of the two Prophets, Ibrahim and Ismail. Here let us be reminded of again these are not ordinary mumins or believers but the two grand prophets of tallest order who together pray to become Muslims
2128 Our God, and make us Muslims unto You and from our descendants a Muslim nation unto You. And show us our path and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
And let us listen to the submission of Prophet Sulaiman to Allah
12101 My Lord, You have given me of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."
Combining the three prophets' prayers, our prayers shall be
O Allah the God of the Worlds
Make us live our lives as mumins;
And elevate and raise us as Muslims!brother kazi

I have committed shirk . I prayed to Jesus. I have been involved in Wicca . But deep down I know god is one. The Wiccas god is not God.
?Two men went up into the temple to pray,
One a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus
?God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.?But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ?God, be merciful to me, a sinner!?
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
-- Jesus, Luke 18 -
Shirk cannot been forgived in 448, just a misstranslation.
-
Shirk is embedded in us since the very moment we are created as creatures separate from God. Our task as such is the return to God, therefore a way of purification from shirk, from separation. I do not think there is shirk and non shirk as two things apart and nto shade in between. I think we have a way of purifying from separateness from God to acknowledgement of God and only One, and getting rid of our separateness. It is a way,y is a struggle, our task, it is not an "it is black or white" it is a travel from chaos to the harmony of tawheed.
May God's help never fail us, and may we never fail ourselves in availing from God's help.
It is a long way, many times painful, but whatever way it is, it is the one chosen by God for us. We must glorify Him for it. We are out of His rahma, and He takes care of us always.
Salaam
-
Salaam Earthdom,
What do you say now? So even if we sincerely regret our shirk we cannot be forgiven for it? Even if we repent and reform afterwards while we are still alive in this world? And we committed shirk because of ignorance and not intentionally.
God bless you
-
Salam Man of Faith
What I mean is "shirk sin cannot been forgiven" doctrine in verse 448 occur because misstranslation.
This is the list of traditionalist translation
-Shahih Internasional Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him.
-Yusuf Ali Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with HimAnd this is mine translation of 448
"Indeed God does not forgive that associated with Him"
Read carefully, what God blame in that verse actually not the actor of shirk, but the object one (that). It can be say the example of the object of shirk (that) is like Firaun who claim himself as equal to God etc.
If God blame the actors, then this will be contrary to another verses which said if God is the Forgiver and the Merciful.
Just try to think again, if God doesn't forgive the shirk act, then how the Buddhist, Hindu convert to Islam?? because they also set equal to God.
God bless you.

Shirk is not forgivable only if one dies with shirk
Salam
You are still living and I see no reason for you to worry or despair when there might be abundance of time for repentance. Use it wisely, and all it needs for Allah to forgive us is "sincerity".
Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah
except the disbelieving people"
